My fat fingers regularly end up with the word alf in text when I wanted and. Ironically, when I typed alf here it changed to and. Since I never use the word alf, how do I get rid of it from my phone forever?
Obviously I'm aware that push-pull valves are far less reliable than other varieties, and are used by builders' contractors because they're cheap and easy to install. Ours were installed in our new home 7 years ago. Our home has Pex pipes.
We are debating getting the valves replaced with quarter turn ones. We have ten valves, 2 behind toilets and the remainder under sinks. We've been quoted $140 apiece to have them replaced. One concern is the visible areas behind toilets. Escutcheon or sheet rock work? The latter would be pricey. And what of the other areas? How bad will it look once the work is done?
TLDR; with no work done beyond plumbing, how bad will walls likely look after replacing push-pull valves with quarter turn ones?

I had Texas Power Guide look at our household usage. We have a 7.1kw system with 10kwh battery. Unfortunately, the lowest cost plans require that we relinquish control of our battery. These are Frontier Utilities and Gexa, supposedly with net annual bills of $8.
What have you found? Is everyone still doing free nights plans?

Just bought a 2027 Seltos xline sx prestige a couple of days ago. I had planned to get a 2026 Kona Limited, but it got sold before I was ready. Maybe that was serendipitous, as I wasn't particularly happy with the ride and noise level in the Kona.
The Seltos is impressively quiet inside and rides very well given those low profile tires. The car has features I wouldn't have expected in a subcompact SUV. The display is very good, ventilated seats are great, and having a push-button liftgate is nice. Seat memory is nice, and available for 2 drivers. On the negative side, I'm unimpressed by the acceleration on this 1.6t (have had this engine before with the DCT), and dumb things like having no garage door opener (unless you change out the rear view mirror or pay a subscription fee after 3 months to get it on the screen. Other services are included for 3 years. The fuel economy is pretty bad for a small car, especially given there's an 8-speed transmission. The shifter takes up a lot of space in the center console area, but I prefer it over Hyundai's twister on the column. There is a separate key fob and physical key. The fob buttons are on the edges and take some getting used to. The panoramic sunroof is huge, but isn't something I expect to use much. The audio is pretty good overall, especially cranked up.
It seems as if most Seltos come with black upholstery, but there's also a grey... which I would have chosen if available given I'm in Texas.
I'm not a big fan of the flush door handles. And while I like that they can unlock on approach, I'm changing from the default of all 4 opening to just the driver's door. While it's a good indicator of whether the doors are locked or unlocked, it's also a signal to others. Single females would be wise to change this immediately.
It's a pretty impressive vehicle overall, but I wish I'd been able to wait for the hybrid. That said, the high end hybrid will easily top USD40k out the door with taxes, etc.

If you own this car, would you buy it again? What has gone wrong with yours? What do you think its weak points are? Strong points vs other subcompact SUVs at any price point?
Giving serious thought to this vehicle, but wanted some feedback from owners. I test drove one with the orchid interior (loved it) and that incredible sound system. CVT (sorry).
What have been the things you really love about your car, and the things that have bothered you? Do you find it easy to get into and out of? How's the real time fuel economy when not driving it hard? Do you have significant oil dilution? (We stopped buying Honda products after the 2017 nightmare with the 1.5t engine).
As a previous 2020 Kona owner, I'm super impressed with the 2026 Limited. It's got so many features that are typically found on much more expensive cars.
However, I test drove the 2026 a couple of days ago and had some issues with both the acceleration and the ride. Of course the change from a CVT affects the acceleration... but the bumpy-ish ride on fairly smooth pavement really bothered me. Is this potentially an anomaly on the specific car I drove, or is it a pervasive issue with the Kona? It could be a deal breaker.
The GLA250 is not open for consideration, so should I consider a C300 or CLA coupe or sedan? Is there a down side to any of these models?
We had a 2-line Veteran plan with everything unlimited included, plus we paid for Netflix... for a grand total of $107 a month. It was supposed to be a lifetime plan.
We were moved to a plan with limits and it'll cost us $127. They threw in Hulu. Big deal.

Two days in a row, we've had these spikes. What causes these and what are the potential ramifications?
When we bought our Eufy cameras and doorbell a few years ago, everything worked reasonably well with our small Amazon Show. About 2 years ago we added the 8" Show and things still worked. One important detail: my husband "owns" the Eufy devices, while the Alexa devices are mostly mine.

We recently noticed that we can no longer display output from any of the Eufy devices. I read that Amazon made some security changes that disabled commingled accounts like ours. Significantly, the Eufy devices do show up in my husband's Alexa app... but cannot be played on either of our Show devices.

We've gone through all manner of troubleshooting steps, of course. And we've read that Eufy and Amazon show devices no longer play well together... so have about given up. What say you?

TLDR: Can no longer view Eufy cameras output on Echo Show devices
I'm looking for a website that includes reviews of private label products. There are obviously some very good products but also some not so good. Pointers to an organized set of reviews (vs piecemeal ones found here and elsewhere) would be appreciated.
I loved our LR4 when it was new. Now it's beginning to remind me of our old LR3, with regular errors. With the LR4, it's about dirty sensors.
I've initiated and watched several cleaning cycles, and the globe stops rotating (as if a cat entered) and then restarts on its own. I can also get it going by hitting the reset button. I've followed the troubleshooting steps but they have not fixed the issue. I have not purchased canned air yet, but that may be next.
I use Tidy Cats 24/7 litter.
Any other pointers?
Our LR4 is approaching a year old, and had been having recurring problems over the last few months detecting our cats. We occasionally find the box quite dirty in the mornings, and it's obvious it hasn't cycled after it's been used. More recently, (surprise) I've been getting messages saying to clean the sensors. I've done so, but the problem hasn't gone away. What might I be missing?
We bought the LR4 about a year ago but have not disposed of our aged LR3... plus a number of spare parts. What did you do with yours after upgrading or replacing?
