I don’t do uber, just deliveries. I don’t know wtf this is. Anybody else get it?

Today, I finally accepted a package delivery. It's usually horrible pay but today I got one for $9 for 2.7 miles, and 2 of those miles was getting to the pickup, then 12 blocks to drop off.

As I get closer, I get the attached message "there is no package, just a pick up" . Had I never seen this Reddit, I would be asking what he was talking about, but I knew right away. But I played dumb to see what he would say, but he never replied. I wanted to say "this is not ghetto uber", but it's uber chat after all. And the pick up area is a bit ghetto. I carry but not looking to ever have to use it.

EDIT: forgot to add the ending. I called support but was on hold for like 10 min and then as the guy was about to cancel, the system re-assigned away from me for delay... and dinged my cancel rate. 🤣🤣🤣

There’s not enough money they can pay me to turn my car into this.

How much did they charge the customs for delivery?

On Saturday, I had an interesting experience. I accepted a stack, shop and deliver for 5 items and at the same supermarket pick up a catering order (4 trays and a cake). Good order about $20 for very easy stack. Or so I thought.

I make the grocery delivery no issues. I then go and drop off the catering items at the address given.

I got to the address and it was “1200 xxx street.” But in the field for apartment, it says “1238” which was weird because it was a house. I screenshotted the address because doing this long enough that my spider sense kicked in. So I dropped off and completed delivery in the app.

As I’m walking back to the car, the homeowner comes out and gets my attention. She says that they didn’t order anything. I showed her the address on the screenshot and it’s the right address. Then I’m thinking maybe it’s 1238 on the same street, up the block. Meanwhile I message the customer. You can’t call after delivery, only message. I get no reply.

So I pack up the food in the car again and try 1238, no answer. So I call support. They try calling the customer and get no answer. They tell me “discard or keep the food and you’ll still be paid”. I live about 10 minutes away. So I decided to take it home. It’s too much to eat. I just started my shift so I was planning to work an other 4-5 hours, too long to keep in the car and took up my whole trunk area.

I get home and unload the stuff, and I get a text from the customer finally. She gives me the correct address. Nowhere near the address on the app. About 15 minutes away from my house. My wife says deliver it, it’s not right to keep at least $200 worth of food. Shes a good person. As I’m deciding what to do, I get a call from the customer. I explain what happened and tell her support told me to get rid of it. She says that she wants her food. I explained to her that I don’t mind delivering but I’m working and this wasted at least 30 minutes of my time already looking for her and now to deliver it will waste another 30. She says I’ll pay you.

So I deliver it. If she pays fine, if not it’s good karma. She handed me $30 cash. She got her food (although a bit cold) and I made $50 total for the order. Win-win.

I’m curious what you would do? Keep it? Don’t answer the call? I thought about it but my wife convinced me to do it.
It was 2 trays of pulled chicken and Philly cheesesteak meat. A cake, some empanadas, and pigs-in-a-blanket.

EDITED: I called support after she requested her food be delivered. They say it was MY choice but i didn’t have to. They made it clear that if I do deliver it, I won’t get any more pay out of them.

Lately, I’ve been getting “meet at door” but with a picture needed.

The other 3 after the thief stole it couldn’t call support to cancel it? When you use the app to say “order has been picked by another driver” just kicks the cab down the road.

Gotta hydrate.

My question is why does it keep sending drivers if one clicks “order picked up by somebody else”. It should cancel the order but unassign the driver. You have to call to cancel. I always call.

I noticed today that it reduced my cancellations rate by 1% when I call to cancel stolen orders. It has happened the past 3 times.

Every once in a while (maybe once a month, but happened today), when I boot up my computer (Win11Dell XPS), there is no internet. I don't mean that there's no signal. I mean it looks like there is no driver (see pic attached, the internet). In the pic attached, the whole part on the upper left is missing.

I have to keep restarting until it fixes itself. Any ideas?
