Some views inside my newest piece, before it gets closed up…

Usually this kind of detail gets missed unless you get very up close and personal with my artwork, but I thought this sub might appreciate all the tiny bits of cardboard that are going into this tiny (1/64ish) sculpture of an abandoned home near Parrsboro, Nova Scotia…

Another day, another tiny abandoned house in a broken coffee cup…

Hi folks, just recently I showed you a little abandoned Nova Scotian house I’d made in a broken coffee cup. At the risk of being too repetitive, here’s another one, that I was commissioned to create. This little piece is entitled “Tzigany’s Shed” and was inspired by the fantastic book “Outhouses of the East” by Sherman Hines. I’ll have it on display along with several other of my pieces at Open Book Coffee here in Halifax for the last 2 weeks of August. I hope you like it :)

An abandoned Nova Scotian outbuilding. Made of cereal box and mounted in a broken cup :)

Hi folks, I’m a Nova Scotian artist who likes to sculpt miniatures of real-life abandoned places using recycled and found materials. Recently I made a tiny house inside a broken coffee cup, and from that I was asked to make another. This new piece is titled “Tzigany’s Shed”, and was inspired by Sherman Hines’ book “Outhouses of the East”. I hope you enjoy it!

I made a miniature of the abandoned house I found this cup at, inside the cup!

Hi folks, I’m an artist from Nova Scotia, and I make miniature sculptures of abandoned places I find when out exploring the back roads.

Recently I found this beautiful little place with its neglected garden, and was inspired to recreate it. Then I discovered this wonderful broken cup half buried by the back door, and knew it was meant to be.

I call this piece “New Glasgow Morning”, I hope you enjoy it :)

How about a mug with a little house in it?

Hi folks, I’m an artist from Nova Scotia who sculpts miniatures of the abandoned places I find while travelling the backroads.

A few weeks ago I discovered this beautiful abandoned place with a lovely but neglected garden. When I find places like this I always look on the ground for a bit of discarded ephemera to build my sculpture on, and give it a physical tie to the piece’s real world inspiration. I found this beautiful broken Fireking Jadeite mug half buried near the back door, and thought it was the perfect frame for my piece.

I call this “New Glasgow Morning”. I hope you enjoy what I’ve brewed up :)

I made a miniature of the house I found this mug by, inside this mug!

Hi folks, I’m an artist from Nova Scotia, and I make miniature sculptures of the beautiful abandoned places I find when out exploring the backroads. I found this little place with its neglected garden on a pretty dirt road near New Glasgow, a few weeks ago. I found this broken Fire King jadeite mug half buried nearby and was inspired to bring this sculpt to life.

I call this little piece “New Glasgow Morning”, I hope you enjoy it :)

I found a broken cup near an abandoned home, so I sculpted the home inside it

Hi folks, I’m a Nova Scotian artist who sculpts tiny versions of the abandoned places I’ve found on the backroads of my province.

I found this place with its overgrown garden while out a few weeks ago, and was inspired by the broken mug I’d found half buried nearby. This piece is called “New Glasgow Morning”

A tiny house with an overgrown garden, nestled in a broken cup

Hi folks, I’m a Nova Scotian artist who sculpts the abandoned places I’ve found in my travels. Often when I post my creations I’m told I should show them to this community too. I hope you enjoy.

This little piece is based on a neglected home I found near New Glasgow, Nova Scotian. When I find a place that inspired me I often will search for a bit of ephemera on the ground to act as a base, and give me a touchstone back to the real place in my sculpture. I found this broken jadeite mug partially buried not far from the back door and felt it would make an ideal frame for my sculpture. This tiny piece is called “New Glasgow Morning”. Thanks for looking!

I found a broken Fire King mug near an abandoned house, and made a sculpture of the house inside it :)

Hi folks, I’m a Nova Scotian artist who makes sculptures of abandoned places I find while travelling the backroads of my province. I often will look for a bit of discarded ephemera to use in my work so I have a touchstone back to the real-world places that inspire me.

I found this broken Fire King mug (which I’d originally thought was Fiestaware, but have been corrected) near a lovely abandoned place outside of New Glasgow, and I felt it was the perfect frame for a miniature of the place, and its overgrown garden. I’ve titled this little piece “New Glasgow Morning”.

I thought maybe you might like to see what can be done with a piece of glassware that otherwise wouldn’t be as desirable due to its damage. I hope you like it :)

I made an abandoned house sculpture inside this broken coffee cup

Hi folks, I’m an artist in Nova Scotia who specializes in miniature sculptures of real abandoned places I’ve found. I often like to search around these abandoned homes for something that was thrown away, that would make a good base for my sculpture. I found this broken mug along with this beautiful home and overgrown garden in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. I realize it’s a bit different content, but I thought you might enjoy :)

I made a sculpture of the house I found this broken mug at, inside this broken mug!

Hi folks, I make lots of sculptures of the abandoned places I’ve found during my back roads drives. I only use recycled materials (mostly cereal boxes), and I love to be able to incorporate a found object from the area into my work so I always have a touchstone back to the irl inspiration.

This little place with its neglected and overgrown garden is close to New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. I found the broken mug nearby, and thought it’d make the perfect frame for this little garden and home.

Thanks for looking, I hope you liked it :)

I made an abandoned Nova Scotian garden (and home) inside a broken mug

Hi folks, I was out for a drive near New Glasgow when I spotted a neglected little place with a beautifully overgrown garden. Nearby was this broken cup, and I thought it would make the perfect frame for this ring sculpture. I’ve called it “New Glasgow Morning”, I hope you enjoy it :)

I made an abandoned Nova Scotian home (and its garden) in a broken cup :)

Hi folks, I’ve been travelling all around the province again this summer looking for amazing places to make miniature sculptures of. I found this lovely little overgrown garden beside a little neglected place not too far from New Glasgow.

Laying near a shed on the property was this broken cup, and I thought it made a lovely spot for this piece, which I’ve called “New Glasgow Morning”

I hope you like it :)

I made an abandoned lobster cannery in PEI

Hey folks, I like to make miniatures of abandoned Canadian places I’ve visited. I found this forlorn lobster cannery with stories to tell in Borden-Carleton last summer. This piece is made from cereal boxes and other bits from the recycling. If you’d like to see more of this piece, the irl place that inspired it, or any of my other little places, I’ll put a link to my Instagram in the comments. Thanks for looking :)

An abandoned lobster cannery I made :)

Hi folks, I make little sculptures of abandoned Maritimes places out of recycling (mostly cereal boxes). This time I have recreated this little lobster cannery with so many stories to tell. I’ll admit, the inspiration for this building isn’t in Nova Scotia, but rather at the base of the bridge in PEI, but I am a Haligonian artist, so I hope you’ll still enjoy it. If you’d like to see more pics of the sculpture, and the irl place that inspired it, I’ll put a link to my Instagram in the comments. Thanks for looking :)

The Cannery, Borden-Carlton, in miniature

Hi folks, I make miniatures of real-life abandoned places here in the maritimes. Last summer I was in Borden-Carlton for a brief stay, and found this wonderful lobster cannery out near the base of the bridge. I loved the stories it had to tell through its add-ons, patches and repairs. I created this sculpture (as I do with all my little buildings) from cereal boxes and other bits from the recycling. If you’d like to see more pics of my sculpture, as well as the real building that inspired it, I’ll put a link to my Instagram in the comments. Thanks for looking :)

A miniature of an abandoned Nova Scotian church, made from cereal boxes :)

Hi folks, I make miniatures of abandoned places I’ve found. I build them primarily from cereal boxes and other scraps from the recycling. Often I’ll use a found object from the grounds of the irl structure as the base. This one is called Guysborough Church, and it’s based on a church I found on a backroad a few years ago, that has sadly been torn down now. I’ve mounted my sculpture in a found rusty soup can with an appropriately cracked halo :) I hope you like it!
