I’m a 32 year old woman. I had my first colonoscopy in March after several months of unexplained pain. They found h pylori and a 1cm polyp during my scope. I was treated for the h pylori and the polyp came back as precancerous.

I keep thinking about what that polyp could have turned into had I waited til the recommended age of 45 for a colonoscopy. The idea of having that developing for the next 13 years is terrifying.

It’s very possible I could have developed colon cancer from that polyp. I’m a single mother and the thought of that is so scary. My daughter would have had no one.

Why hasn’t the recommended age changed yet? We’re seeing more and more young people die from this disease and yet the recommendations haven’t changed to reflect that.

5 year old mixed breed female dog, spayed, otherwise healthy, about 40-50 pounds, VT/NH USA

Friend’s dog tore her ACL in November 2025 after going missing for a couple days. Vet at the time said watching and waiting was ok to see if she healed on her own.

She took her to the vet yesterday and the injury is now a total rupture of the ACL and meniscus.

Vet offered a few options: brace, plasma treatment, stem cell treatment, or surgery.

She is leaning towards stem cell treatment. This is about 3500 and surgery is 6-8 thousand. Everything I’ve read online says stem cell treatment hasn’t yet proven successful in treatment of complete rupture.

Is there evidence stem cell treatment would be effective? 3500 is a lot of money if she’s going to have to end up paying for surgery in the future anyway.

Any advice is appreciated. The dog has been in pain for months and deserves relief.

My 5 year old’s other genetic component has chosen to not be in her life since before she was born. He’s not a safe person so there is unlikely to be a relationship between them.

She is now starting to notice differences in her family compared to those of her friends’ and classmates’ families.

I’m hoping to get some ideas on books that best explain this, I’m struggling to know how to explain this to her in an honest but appropriate way.

My 5 year old is crying that she wants two parents. It’s been just her and I since the beginning. She doesn’t understand why she only has one parent and all her friends have 2 or more. I want her to have two parents too. I don’t want to do this alone anymore. I don’t know how to navigate this and I feel so sad for her. She’s such a wonderful child and deserves better.

Other genetic component has chosen to be 100% out of her life, they have never met, he owes 25k in support. It’s truly just us.

I’m $300 short on rent and my car is (likely) on its last legs. I’m working through the car problem but my rent is due Wednesday and I have $900 of the $1200. I’m hoping to borrow $300 to cover the rest of my rent. I was paid today and get paid again on 7/10. I will repay $375 on that day. I can provide ID, income verification, etc.

Flaired as vent but I will take advice.

Blew a head gasket today on my way home from work. I owe more on the car than it’s worth. I don’t have the means to get it fixed. I’m a single parent and this is my only transportation. Public transit is nonexistent where I live. I don’t know how I’m going to get to work tomorrow or at all next week. I live 30 minutes from work.

It just never ends. It’s always something. I get paid tomorrow but that check is for rent and it won’t even cover all of it. I just want one month where things don’t blow up in my face. Figuratively and literally.

I work full time. I don’t buy stupid things. It shouldn’t be this hard.
