i bought this Displate pre AI generation so thankfully that's not an option. but i really wonder, is that a real place? a 3D render?
personally id be a unicorn for the levitation spell
sorry if this post brought up any negativity but i just needed to get this out. its so weird to have mean people in this fandom
i went a little close to it and started coughing roughly a lot, but we have a lot of cats and moved things around a lot so it's possible its just cat hair and dust doing this
i have a neocities site and i dont want my parents knowing about it, because then they'd know all my online accounts and i really dont want to think "what would my parents think about this" before doing anything
my dad is kind and a programmer of profession, he saw me write code for my website (i was only writing code for a complete remake of it so it was all placeholders and unfinished) and he wanted to help me. and i lied saying i was just playing around with no real idea for a website
now i don't know what to do, i feel like i need to seem like i dont care anymore about learning it. i really dont want my parents to have access to all my socials. i feel safe separating my online self from my real self and i have huge trust issues
what do i do...
Windows 11 : 2026-07-14
a little bit of context : i was sorting all of my applications in the Windows start popup by pinning them all and then sorting them, and noticed a few apps that i didnt recognize. a few were normal, related to other software i downloaded like Davinci or launchers but one came out as odd. after a bit of research im panicking. i do not work for a compagny that could have downloaded this (RealVNC) on my personal computer, so now im scared i was spied on by some malware.
right now here are my theories :
in task manager : i have 3 apps showing and using memory only, VNC® Server at 1,1 Mb, VNC® Server at 0,7 Mb and vncagent at 0,8 Mb
if anyone can help id be so happy, ill respond to questions as fast as i can
edit : the lastest file from them i could find was created on the 2th of august 2023 and the setup file being modified on the 9th of september. those files where found in C:\Program Files\RealVNC\VNC Server
edit 2 : i disabled it with services.msc and removed its ability to start on its on
edit 3 : i know its not the safest, but i made Claude analyze the two vncserver.log and vncserver.log.bak i found in C:\ProgramData\RealVNC-Service, and this what it had to say : "This is actually really good news. Here's what I found going through both log files line by line: <br> No actual remote/network VNC connections anywhere in either log. I searched specifically for IP addresses, the VNC network protocol handshake, port listening (VNC uses port 5900), and any "client connected from [address]" style entries — there are none. Every "connect/disconnect" event in the logs (REMOTE_CONNECT, CONSOLE_CONNECT, SESSION_LOCK, SESSION_UNLOCK) is just Windows' own internal session management talking to itself — this is what happens every time you lock your screen, unlock it, or your PC sleeps/wakes. Nobody remotely connected to your screen. <br> "No license: MissingLicense" appears constantly. RealVNC Server requires a valid paid/linked license to actually accept incoming remote connections. Without one, it's running but functionally can't be connected to by anyone. This is a strong technical reason nobody could have been spying through it even if they tried. <br> The service auto-starts every time your PC boots (that's why you see it firing up over and over across different days/dates in the log) — that's just default VNC Server service behavior, not evidence of tampering. <br> There's a "business identifier" GUID logged (JoinMgr: Using business identifier...) — this is part of RealVNC Connect's cloud-linking system, but it's just a local built-in default config identifier, not proof of a linked account. Given there's no license and no successful connections, nothing was ever joined to an actual team/account with access.*"*
edit 4 : due to the 3.5 year gap since the installation without any account hacked and since the software is deactivated i decided to do nothing. i rarely install stuff and i always check my sources.
