DICE, if you are serious about Operation Augur, then I am serious about wanting behemoths back.

DICE, if you are serious about Operation Augur, then I am serious about wanting behemoths back.

If you guys truly want to make Augur feel like Battlefield 1 Operations again and not just a temu version of Breakthrough, then bring back behemoths. It is not a technology or "game logic" issue, it is an idea limitation issue.

Now the original idea was to add a very large, "super" vehicle aka "behemoth" to be used as reinforcements for the last wave of attacks in a defender sided map. Since WW1, technology has obviously changed. Modern tanks didn't get bigger, they got smaller, while Zeppelins and Battleships don't even exist anymore. However there is some very interesting new tech that would make as an exciting addition to the game, one because it'll freshen things up, and two because, it seems like a lot of fun. And it's new modern military tech that already exists IRL.

ZUMWAL-CLASS DESTROYER (NATO): It's a stealth missile boat. Has a stealth APS much like the tank but instead of shooting down incoming missiles, it'll prevent lock on for a limited time. Doesn't work against RPGs. Room for the driver and 2 or 3 gunners. One gunner can launch missiles with the use of a PASSIVE radar which could pretty much work as artillery but with a larger blast radius though much smaller ROF. The other gunner or two can fire a smaller 20 or 30mm canon from range. Heavily armored but slow.

BMPT-Terminator (PAX): The latest from the country that shall not be named, it's a tank support fighting vehicle. Much like the M3A3 Bradley but way more deadly from its sheer firepower. Comes loaded with 2x 30mm autocannons and 4x 130mm ATGMs. Can come with a driver and 2 gunners. Will melt any other vehicle in seconds. Standard tank armor, maybe a bit extra to compensate for it being rare, really your call due to balancing.

AC-130J (NATO): Needs no introduction. Flies high in the sky. Room for 1 pilot and 3 gunners - the 30mm rapid fire cannon, the slow firing yet massive damage 105mm howitzer, and whatever else you want really. Balancing would work based on ROF and delay before the shells impact the ground. Comes with flares and more armor to shrug off AA.

There really is no PAX equivalent for the AC130 or NATO equivalent for the BMPT Terminator so the team with the behemoth will just go on offense for that map.

Finally, you don't have to fit these onto every Augur map, but start off with select maps like Wake Island (for sea), Firestorm (for air), and/or Golmud (for land) to test the waters and see reactions. If it works, you can expand it to a few more maps. If it doesn't work, you can reuse the vehicles in Conquest on select maps and rebalance them for that mode. I don't think anyone will complain about more vehicles especially on the larger maps. Plus it's more content and something we haven't seen before. Brings some excitement back.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Close enough. My John Wick moment.

I know it wasn't super clean and I'm butthurt my teammate robbed me of that third kill but close enough. I was feeling pretty good at that point, on an 11-0 run.

Cover Art, then vs now

Before the days of social media, there wasn't a lot of advertising going around. The marketing team knew they only had one chance of grabbing your attention as you were walking down the aisle trying to pick out a new game. The cover art absolutely had to slap with some kind of style, mystery and originality. The result what you see on the left and something you could hang in a museum. Meanwhile on the right, it feels like art is an after thought. It feels like the marketing team's job is to be as generic as possible. Something that offends the least amount of people and has the lamest pose known to man. Something relatable even if it's a sci-fi game. Anything even remotely cool is illegal. Also, they would have exactly 5 minutes to make it and the budget can't be any greater than a half a foot sandwich at Subway.

I included some more pics of covers that I thought were cool on the bottom, just to show the younger gamers what they were missing out on. Now I know SOME modern games today still manage to have cool covers like Ghost of Tsushima or Elden Ring or GTA but for the most part, it's a lost art for the average game.

If you think things can’t possibly get any worse… they absolutely can with cloud streaming only.

I really enjoyed The Old Country

Absolutely fantastic story about the mafia underworld, love and a very authentic journey through early 1900s Italy. Brian Transeau did an outstanding job on the main theme and the graphics are very impressive but demanding.

The gameplay is fairly generic. It's your standard cover shooter with some stealth elements, some knife fight segments and some driving segments. Not great but not bad either. The map itself is a huge open world to get lost in but also somewhat shallow because you can't really get lost in it unless you go into "free mode." Had the devs had another year, they could have made a serious RDR2 competitor and it would have been amazing to fully explore but whatever, it's not that big of a deal.

Regardless, the story slaps, the ending was super emotional and put me in the feels as much as MGS3 and SH2 did and everyone should experience it. It's cinematic gaming but it's very, very good cinematic gaming. I give it a solid 8/10.

Let's discuss best RPGs from 1990 to 2025.

Few things before I get slaughtered in the comments section.

  1. I did not play every game. Not enough time. So I might have missed a few games here and there.

  2. Some years like 1994 (Earthbound, System Shock 1, FF6), 2002 (Neverwinter Nights, Kingdom Hearts, Morrowind) and 2010 (Fable 3, New Vegas, Mass Effect 2) ARE STACKED and it was too close of a call.

  3. For whatever reason, AI considers Souls games as RPG. Idk about you guys but I don't consider them and as such have omitted them. However they are amazing. If they were included, they would definitely swept a lot of years.

There it is, let me have it. Curious to hear everyone's opinion.

I mixed it up a little bit, let's talk first person shooters

We were eating good from the late 90s to the mid 2010s. I feel like the quality shifted significantly after COVID due to trends and other things. Competition fell off immensely. What do you guys think?

Decided to try my hand at this new grid.

I hope I didn't forget anything but these are all the movies at the top of my head for their respective category.

Switching apartment units

Hey all,

I signed up for Verizon Fios not too long ago. I’m switching units soon. It’s in the same apartment complex, same address, just a different unit and building. Do I need to notify Verizon and if so how would I go about doing this? I logged in through the app and went to -> move transfer service to new address, entered the address and it takes me to a screen to sign up for a new plan. I’m not sure if this is right especially since I signed up with them not too long ago. Any ideas? Should I just call?

Thanks.

2020 TLOU2 Fans: "It couldn't have possibly been any worse." Kripke: "Hold my beer."

Congrats Druckmann. I never thought I'd live to see the day where you get dethroned for creating the shittiest death.

A compilation of cinematic and memorable clips I recorded over the past 5 years playing 2042. Thank you DICE. I know the game is hated but I had fun.

I used a controversial song because the game was (and still is) controversial but hopefully people will see it in a different light years down the road if the dust ever settles. The game was far from perfect but the freedom of large maps, huge player counts, and gadgets 2042 offered was unparalleled especially compared to BF6's claustrophobic hallways. You could get really creative with your playstyle. Anyways hope you guys enjoy. See you on the battlefield if DICE ever fixes the servers.
