Z Fold 8 from an iPhone Mini user’s POV

Coming from the Apple ecosystem, so don’t grill me…

Length wise, its short and sweet. Width is too much but thanks to the back button navigation and keyboard size customisation, that’s not much of an issue.

This might be one of the best compact phones to come out this decade after the iPhone Mini. Not to mention it unfolds into an iPad Mini size tablet.

Will the Ultra have stylus support?

In iOS 27, they introduced a new Drawing feature within Messages. Even PaperKit and PencilKit APIs have been officially opened up for third party app developers. Maybe the fold will have stylus support? If it does happen, Apple will makes us buy a whole new accessory instead of letting our iPad’s Apple Pencil work with it.

Basically, the lowest 10% of the screen does not respond. And that’s where most of the functions are - joining wifi networks, camera shutter, changing tabs within apps.

Somehow I was able to join a network within Safari but I still can’t figure out a way to take photos in the camera app. Tried volume buttons, EarPods mic remote but turns out those came only after iOS 5 - nothing for 3.1.3.

Any ideas what I can do to make the camera shutter button work?
