Ritz & Andaz in Maui?

My husband and I are thinking about celebrating our babymoon in late November and splitting our time (~1 week) between the Andaz and Ritz Carlton. We have points for the Andaz but heard good things about the Ritz, and wanted to make sure we could see more of the island. Is this a good combo or would you suggest one over the other? A different hotel? Thank you!

Best Winter Babymoon Destinations

We are due with our second and are planning a week long winter babymoon. We were considering Christmas markets in Austria but are drawn to Hawaii (specifically Kauai) because we’ve been several times and love it. Looking for a relaxing time away from our toddler, great food, beautiful view. Thank you!

Grand Hyatt Kauai - Standard room with points?

I am looking to book a standard room with points but the points calendar only shows suite options in the drop down & I can’t find a single opening for a standard room. Do they sell them with points still?

When did you start feeling better?

My due date is end of February so looking for input from those with earlier due dates. When did you start feeling better consistently? Needing something to look forward to.

Should I get 2 year old photos?

My son turns 2 this summer. We did professional newborn, 6-month, and 1-year photos, and I love having those milestones documented. I also already have Christmas minis booked for early November.
I’m a few weeks pregnant, so I don’t really want to be in summer photos - I was thinking they’d just focus on my son. By Christmas, I’ll be farther along, so those would likely be a few family photos.

If you were me, would you:

  1. Do 2-year milestone photos this summer and keep the Christmas minis?
  2. Skip the 2-year photos and just do Christmas?
  3. Cancel Christmas and just do 2-year photos?

I’m trying to decide what’s most worth it and what others have done.

What were your kids first signs of HFM?

Our 23-month-old started drooling a lot this week and constantly putting his hands in his mouth, which is unusual for him. We assumed he was cutting molars, so we checked his mouth. We didn’t see any new teeth, but we did notice tiny whitish bumps all over his tongue yesterday. They could be completely normal, but we’ve honestly never looked that closely at his tongue before, so of course our minds went straight to HFM.
Since we’re on vacation, we took him to urgent care today. By then, the spots on his tongue were gone, but we noticed a few very faint bumps on one of his hands. The doctor said she couldn’t say for sure—it could be absolutely nothing, or it could be the very beginning of HFM.
The confusing part is that he hasn’t had a fever, is eating normally, has tons of energy, and has been playing and roughhousing like usual.
We’re supposed to be spending time with other toddlers and a few pregnant family members this week, so we’re trying to figure out how concerned we should be. My family thinks it’s probably nothing, but I’d love to hear from others who have been through HFM. What were your child’s first symptoms, and how did it start?

What to do without A/C?

We are visiting my husband’s family cottage this July and they don’t have A/C. Most of this the year it’s totally fine but last year was extremely hot over July 4th and we had a hard time sleeping. Not to my mention my 1 year old sweating all night. This year looks like it’ll be hot too. What are our options? I’m open to buying a portable a/c unit, wall unit, fans, wearing a neck cooler, whatever! We value comfort and want to know what we can do or buy short of installing an a/c unit. We do visit yearly so could use whatever in future years too. (Located in the US)

Lighter test 13 DPO PM than 12 DPO AM

I was tracking progression on easy@home and FRER from 9 - 12 DPO. Took a random test the evening of 13 DPO and it looks lighter (or similar for FRER) in pictures than the 12 AM tests. Could it just be that my tests are darker in the AM? I guess I’ll know for sure tomorrow morning.

Just found out I’m Pregnant - How to Celebrate?

I just tested positive yesterday at 9 DPO for my second and have the urge to celebrate - buy a baby outfit, something! Any ideas? I know things can happen but I’m pregnant today so it’s fun to think about.

Positive or Negative 9 DPO?

My first pee of the morning I took the FRER and it looks negative. I peed again shortly after and took a clear blue 6 days earlier (pink test) and easy@home. The clear blue looked positive to me within a minute. I almost see the faintest line on the easy@home too. What do you think? Am I seeing things?

Help with 22 MO Naps

Please help me. We did the Ferber method when we sleep trained months and months ago so my son sleeps like a champ at night and falls asleep alone. But naps are a whole other story. He has to nap in the car, on us, stroller, etc. I’ve let him cry in his crib but didn’t seem to work. I am losing my sanity!!! If he falls asleep on me and I set him down he wakes up every time and won’t go back down. Help me please!

A perfect itinerary with 2 year old

Looking for must-do’s and a good paced itinerary for a 5 night trip in November with a 2 year old. We will be at the cabins in fort wilderness. We don’t love getting up early or rushing around. Looking forward to a good mix of parks and resort/pool/etc. We go to Disney often but have never been with our son. Thank you!

I work full time remotely but have been wanting to spend more time with my 21 month old son. I was considering being a SAHM but my boss graciously offered me a part time or contract position so I could do the job I love while having more time with my son. I was part time for a few months before and loved it! She told me to shape my own desired position. I need help thinking about what to ask for to get the balance I want.

- Contract or part time? Leaning part time, not contract but would love perspectives

- How many hours would you want? Thinking 15-20 a week but is that too low?

- What schedule/days? I can do some outside of working hours but knowing my job, I will need firm childcare and would do best with mostly set hours.

- Any suggestions on ideal child care set up?

Thank you for the advice!
