Finally rid of my 2019 Jeep Compass

Now that the green gremlin has been sold, I can post a picture of what I "used" to own (2019 Jeep Compass). Don't let the shiny fool you like it did me...This baby had a litany of issues over the past two years from having to replace a radiator, head gasket, engine mount, primary battery, secondary battery, and alternator.

It also had several electrical issues that I found were common via the Jeep Forums:

  1. Random High Temp Warning that would shut it down while driving (this is the most dangerous of all the faults). Never corrected by Jeep and still has open cases to this day

  2. Fail to start on multiple occasions despite new batteries and alternator especially in the cold

  3. Random Check Engine Lights during humid weather

  4. List of random other faults such as bogus "service transmission, service parking brake, etc." all tied to known issues with having a secondary battery.

  5. Incorrect coolant temps v. what was on the gauge (made me nervous in traffic) Gauge would show nominal, but temps would show over-temp of 226 degrees+ but again known issue tied to the ECM (computer).

Other than those anxiety inducing issues, it ran great 10/10...No really, don't buy Jeep Compass, they are absolute shit

Air Fryer chili cheese dogs

All Beef Jumbo hotdogs, canned chili, bagged shredded cheese and Pepperidge Farm split top buns.

Air Fried the hotdogs 375 for about 5-6min, heated chili in microwave (remove from can, should go w/o saying), layer bun; cheese, air fried hotdog, chili, more cheese. Carefully put back in air fryer at 375 for an extra minute. Remove gently with spatula, and plate.

Brisket Sandwich

Yesterday, I stopped into a local barbecue joint in Homestead, PA and tried their brisket sandwich, while waiting for the Big Boy 4014 steam engine to pass through.

Brioche bun piled high with smoked brisket, pickles, onion straws, and their signature barbecue sauce. Had a side of their fries, and an ice cold lemonade.

Homestead Cops

Y’all are a bunch of whiny crybabies 👶who need to lay off the donuts. 🍩. If you can’t walk down the tracks and then walk back and have to have firefighters shuttle your overweight asses back to the road…Bruh!!! Also you suck in general 🖕

4014 Homestead update

Currently onsite in Homestead. Waitress at the Eat N Park here in homestead said they’re expecting the Big Boy to pass through at around 3pm. Based on observation of two trains this morning. Looks to pass on the track closest to the old train station. Heads up, that parking lot is closed but looks like plenty of parking at Aldi, dicks, and the surrounding area. There is a vacant lot just off amity that appears to have a great view

2014 Failure throwback

I've been posting some of my amazing melts, so I wanted to also post that we all start from somewhere. This is a burnt Ham and Cheese melt that I made in a hotel room 12 years ago (circa 2014). I was using their pan and their stove. Not my proudest moment and I ended up getting takeout but we all gotta start somewhere.

Leftover Beef Short Rib w/Horseradish Cheddar

My daily contribution. Took leftover beef short rib, and some grated horseradish cheddar and made a nice toasty and tasty melt
