🔹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲:
7/29/2026: 10 dogs all sizes, abandoned by previous owner on lot. Didn’t take them at time of moving per caller. Roams area in the morning, come in and out of lot, check for violations.

📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

8/31/2026: Sarina greeted me with a loose body, fast wagging tail, ears up, open mouth smile, and soft eyes. She did a good job of keeping her kennel clean overnight. Sarina was walked on a loose leash and neutral to and from the outside runs. She paid little attention to other dogs as she passed by their runs and kennels. Once placed back in her kennel, she would occasionally jump on the walls of her kennel when she heard me down the aisles. Afterwards, she would lay down on her cot and fall asleep.

8/29/2026: Approaching the kennel, Sarina greeted me with a loose body, fast wagging tail, ears up, open mouth smile, and soft eyes. She did a good job of keeping her kennel clean overnight. Sarina was walked on a loose leash and neutral to and from the outside runs. She paid little attention to other dogs as she passed by their runs and kennels. While in the runs, she was occasionally whining in front of the run and pacing from side to side when she saw me. Once placed back in her kennel, she started to whine and bounce around for a short time before she stopped and laid down on her cot for the rest of the morning.

8/26/2026: Sarina presented a relaxed body, mid wagging tail and soft open mouth. Was able to leash with no issues. Walked on a loose leash with a soft open mouth and loose tongue. Would look up at me and I would give her head pets.

8/25/2026: Sarina walked on a loose leash to the run and back to her kennel. When back in the kennel she stood in front of the kennel door.

8/23/2026: Sarina was in front of the kennel and when I leashed her she walked semi-tight then slowed down as one of the dogs was vocal outside. Once in the run she roamed around and as I was bringing her back she walked loose leash to the kennel.

8/19/2026: Sarina was calm when walked up to her kennel. She waited until it was her turn with no issues. Had a calm body, slow moving tail, was easy to leash and walked to runs and back with no issues.

8/10/2026: Sarina was laying down on her cot. When she saw me she stood up and greeted me at the gate with a neutral body and eyes, and low hanging tail. She did a good job of keeping her kennel clean overnight. She was shy but did not mind me walking towards her and giving her some pets. Sarina was walked on a loose leash and neutral to and from the outside runs.

8/2/2026: She was at the front of the kennel with a relaxed body and a soft wagging tail. She walked on a loose leash to and from the runs. While in the runs she sniffed neighboring dogs and did her business. When in her kennel she’s quiet and keeps it clean.

8/1/2026: She was at the front of the kennel with slightly pinned ears and a tucked tail. I baby talked her and went to leash her, as I did that she moved back away from me and slightly cowered, then I leashed her. She was slow to come out of her kennel but once she did she walked on a loose leash to and from the runs.

🚨 URGENT: REMY & MIKE WAZOWSKI ARE EUTHANASIA LISTED FOR 8/28 🚨

Two young dogs at Contra Costa Animal Services urgently need a way out. They are struggling with the shelter environment, but both have shown promising sides of themselves once given a chance to decompress.

🐾 REMY — Handsome Shepsky

Remy was extremely stressed in his kennel, but after getting outside and having time to settle, he began seeking interaction and showed what a smart, sweet boy he can be.

• Great leash manners • Smart, attentive & treat motivated • Knows sit & paw • Appears potty trained • Has participated in playgroup with another male dog • Adorably tried to “kidnap” the treat bag ❤️

🐾 MIKE WAZOWSKI — 2-year-old Pit Bull

Mike is having an especially difficult time coping with the shelter environment. He becomes very overstimulated, but after a walk and some exercise, he calmed down significantly.

One of the most encouraging moments came when he returned to the kennel area: Mike greeted several other dogs in a friendly manner with a relaxed tail wag.

• Only 2 years old • Appears potty trained • Friendly greetings with dogs he encountered • Calms significantly with exercise • Needs an experienced, patient home where he can decompress and feel safe

⏰ Both are euthanasia listed for 8/28.

They don’t have the luxury of waiting for the perfect situation. A committed foster, adopter, or rescue could give them the chance to make it out alive.

📍 Contra Costa Animal Services — Martinez, CA 📞 Adrian: 707-280-6052 (TEXT PREFERRED)

If you can foster or adopt, please text Adrian ASAP.

If you can’t take either dog, please upvote, comment, and share so this reaches someone who can.

❤️ Remy and Mike deserve the chance to be known outside of a shelter kennel. Please help us get them out before 8/28.
