I played Twisted & Zhadnost a lot, and I had hoped this would be similar. I was wrong. 😂 but I still enjoyed messing around with it back then. Anyone own this or remember playing it? All I can remember is “what’s that smell” 👃

Onirium is very dream-like. I flew on a giant friendly bird last night. I got stuck a while back, but I enjoyed it enough to try it again.

Anyone ever play - or beat this one?

Review: PIRATES VR JOLLY ROGER (PSVR2 on PS5 Pro) - short but sweet, but I had some fun!

Anyone play this one? I wanted to play this before Bootstrap Island 🏝️ and I LOVE 3-5 hour adventures that I can do in one or two sittings… like a long movie that I’m inside of…. it was much better than I thought!

Review: POOLS VR (PSVR2 Review on PS5 Pro)

I ended up enjoying this “experience” more than I expected… anyone else play this yet? …Or maybe you’re wondering what it’s all about? This video has my thoughts 💭 and my review score/opinion.

The new course/update on PSVR2 deleted my lost balls & club 4 times! It keeps re-locking night mode & no scores are saved either. And it’s running slow/laggy…

There needs to be a patch for this. I give up & I’m not doing everything a 5th time!! Grrr 😡 I keep doing the ball hunts and fox hunt over and over - just to be able to play night mode 😂

I loved the NES game as a kid (I eventually got the PC version which wasn’t as good to me) & remember being excited about the upcoming show - and then being really confused — how weird & different it was.

I wonder if this was ever released on DVD or BluRay - cuz I barely remember the show anymore… been too long. Not sure if it’s even worth finding…

Anyone have any memories of this? What a crazy idea it was to make a show out of THIS game.

If only it had the great NES music in the show 😝

3 seasons though? Wow.

In all seriousness, I hope the new TMNT VR game
- as average as it is without co-op or 3 other friends - comes over to PSVR2. In the meantime, I’ll play this thing.

Anyone else own this one? The flying cars remind me of Back to the Future’s highways. What are your thoughts on it? I went back to it recently & realized it was much better than I thought… so I did a review. It’s especially fun with your own music playing via Spotify or whatever.

I think this was an “Art Thief Stealth Adventure” (whatever that means).

Aside from the Sega Dreamcast, it was also headed to PS2 & Gamecube (until it was cancelled for all 3).

I was hyped for it at the time, from seeing magazine pictures like this one. It showed alarm system lasers inside and the main character trying to get through it holding paintings.

I rarely hear about it. I’ve never seen footage or a leaked unfinished demo or beta… or know anyone who was involved to even ask. Not many pics exist or info online.

Curious if anyone remembers it, knows anything else about it, or knows anyone who worked on it back then?

I’ve thought about it for over 25 years, lol. 😂

I have a problem. I can’t even eat dinner without thinking about video games. I had some black beans & Siete chips while visiting family, but all I could see was Pac-Man.

Last night I found some Marijuana in a jar while I was in Virtual Reality. I later went out on the balcony with a joint & chilled by the beach in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand. HILARIOUS… 😂

I had a CBD gummy to relax prior to playing, so I did actually feel the effects!

Gosh, I love VR. Especially PSVR2.

This was one of my favorite hidden gems on PSVR. Does anyone know if it is also on Steam & can be played using the PC adapter on this headset?

It fulfilled my dream of flying on a dragon in a relaxing artsy colorful world… I wish this would get a PSVR2 remaster. I’m not even sure who made it… I should look into it and write them.

Aside from modded stuff, what native remakes or new VR versions of a classic would you LOVE to see in VR?

I’d take a Jet Moto-style VR game also (but Thunder has huge drops down waterfalls & big jumps!) or a Road Rash VR game similar to how RUNNER felt on PSVR2 when riding the bike and using the whip thing.

I also wouldn’t mind a Parachute game, landing on targets like in Pilotwings. PAC-MAN might be scary 😱 We are getting FLATOUT soon, but Burnout would be insane.

Jumping Flash is my #1 favorite PlayStation series but I doubt it’ll happen. I expected a 4th game on PS2… didn’t happen. Then PS3 came & went. Then PS4 came and went. I wish they would bring it back - or just remaster the old games BluPoint style. Then add optional VR support. One can dream! 💭

I wanted to review this game in co-op for a different perspective - and it was VERY fun. I can’t even imagine 4 people at a time! Even just playing as a duo was a blast. But I’m a sucker for heights & jetpacks in VR & the shooting is solid fun too. Don’t sleep on this one based on mixed reviews - especially if you have a friend (or two or three) to do missions with. And it has seasonal updates & fun mini-games to play with friends as well. Sick music too! 🔥

It’s an older one, but it goes well with Synthwave music… like riding the dinosaur coaster with the Jurassic Park music & a fan going. Adds a bit extra to the experience. If only I could afford the motion simulator & haptic vest (which it supports?)!

I can’t seem to get the new co-op to work and I want to ride or shoot targets with a friend.

Has anyone gotten that to work?

Around 1998-ish, I started working at a very busy Funcoland in NY on Long Island. I eventually ended up as one of the store managers. It was a very fun time & I’m still close friends with MANY who I employed there - over 25 years ago! I helped launch the Sega Dreamcast as well as the PS2, GameCube, first XBOX etc.

We also still sold Sega Genesis, SNES & NES carts at the time… PS1 was huge… so I built up a collection back then. Nobody really cared about those at the time & I brought home DuckTales 2 in a box & other rare 8 & 16-bit games at the time. A guy would walk in with, say a CD-I or Atari Jaguar and we didn’t take those… so I’d offer them cash & usually take it from them.

Prior to all this, I worked at Acclaim (before they went under). I worked on Shadowman, some WWF games, and Revolt (which was great). I was mostly just quality control & a bug tester though. But I’ll never forget that dark high-tech office. It had a full motion capture studio at the time. Wild stuff. Being a pro musician (I have toured with many celebrities as a keyboard player & performed on shows like Jay Leno - but this was many years later) … one of the local drummers in town was so beefy and tall - with his “drum arms” that they actually used him for some Shadowman captures. I still have VHS tapes with early Shadowman footage on it & some bug report sheets. Maybe I’ll post those another time. I also worked with the Bygone Dogs, the band that was featured on Sega Saturn games like Cyber Speedway. That’s a LONG story though.

Anyways…

When Funcoland became corporate & got bought out.. my store became GameStop. It got miserable really fast. I left a year later.

The fun def went away. 😂

The day they took down the big neon store sign & replaced it with a GameStop one… it just got thrown in the back room to be trashed!

My higher-up boss at the time said, “take it if you want it” and you bet I did! My parents were not exactly excited about keeping it in the basement along with 50 promotional cardboard standees lol… but … it sat there forever.

Fast-forward 18+ years later and my parents were retiring & selling their house in NY to move south… and I was getting ready to move to Nashville to a small apartment at the time…

As much as it would make a great sign for a basement bar or game room, it was too big to travel around with.

So I took a few pics of it on their dining room floor… this is one of them… and posted it on Craigslist

I literally had 7 people fighting for it - 3 local retro game stores begged me to sell it to them. I ended up selling it to some dude 😢

I kind of wish I still had it.

But it’s a fun story & I know some of you are as nostalgic as me for the good old Funcoland days …

So I wanted to share this photo & tell the tale.

Anyone have stories about either working there, or going there as a kid? By the time I worked there, they didn’t have those “monthly newspaper pricing sheets” anymore… which was fun as a kid… to see all the used Nintendo game prices etc…

All I remember once it became corporate: suddenly all this pressure to sell Game Informer subs… we got stuck doing 3 hours of counting inventory daily instead of spending time helping customers choose games…. It just sucked. No pay raise either. Regional manager was a total ASS that knew nothing about games. Then a new manager came in who was on speed pills all day. Ugh

I worked there until the first XBOX came out (not the 360) … which was a weird time, as I was a HUGE Dreamcast guy… and it became the Dreamcast 2 in a way. With Panzer Dragoon and those ports of Shenmue & stuff.

When PS2 first dropped and people would ask “which system should I buy” I would always say Dreamcast.

Whoops! 😬 I had no idea it would die 2 years later. I just wanted to push Sega.

Good times! Cheers all. I do have a few photos from inside the actual store. Maybe I’ll do more retro story posts like this.

Thanks for reading the rant.

Wingsuit flying in VR? Heck yes. I go fairly deep in this video (for such a simple game). I’ve played close to 600 VR games now - since 2016 - and RUSH was still in my top list of favorite VR games. I was one of those who begged Binary Mill to remaster it for PSVR2… and they not only listened.. but they NAILED IT. The co-op is a blast, but so is the single-player. The new lighting and haptics are so great… I friggin’ love it. It can also be relaxing. Cheers all! Enjoy 😎

Do y’all know about this?

Sometimes I swing by the VR casino to kill some time in-between games. Or while waiting for a friend to sign online to meet me for co-op.

I love Blackjack, but I’m still obsessed with this (new-ish) Street Fighter II slot machine. You can even play it in your hotel suite on the big screen. The nostalgia & sound fx/music makes me smile. 😊

Anyone else go to the virtual casino a lot? I’ve never seen the private rooftop bar yet. I think it’s paid access. But I love the slots and blackjack! I wish the cool locations for Poker could be used for Blackjack too. I guess I need to learn Poker. You can play in a dungeon, or on a Yacht in the ocean for example. And the main game is FREE.

I thought I’d throw a moment of ACES OF THUNDER into the mix. MFS 2024 is getting all the attention 😝

Sometimes I just blast some good music & cruise around in free flight mode to relax. Sure, it’s not the whole world… but the visuals are really nice. It’s not the same. They compliment each other well. Heck, even Ultrawings 2 is great.

But I can’t get past the second mission, still! It’s confusing. 🫤 Not an Aces/Sim person. But I love to fly. Oh well. One day I’ll pass the mission.

HITMAN in VR! After my rainy ‘virtual vacation’ in China, I decided to take a stroll around a nice Vermont neighborhood in America. It was a beautiful summer day as I waved to the local joggers! I get to travel the world in full 3D from my couch in my underwear. 😂 Thanks to my PS5 Pro + PSVR2 … I can’t get enough!
