If the taxes you paid all of them had “receipts” or like a way to know where your tax money was spent, would people be more willing and less vexed?

I read a post somewhere; people are insecure about their looks but not their character, but what if everyone did?

I was thinking why do people still do it because comparatively I think fixing your character is easier objectively. And through evolution, humans are engraved by what basic moral principles are. Compared to looks which are much more subjective and plus you can’t change them as much.

Men vs women world battle

So imagine a universe where on a planet there are only men, which also have only male offsprings VS a planet with women and same gender babies.

All of them started at the same time same population, which of them planets would do better, ie society wise, life, technology etc.

In the long run and short too.

Looking at the stars and using an app to learn about them with music in the background is one of the best things to do I feel. Any of y’all ever do it?

If you could ever trade one language you speak, for the ability to be able to speak with one non pet animal, what would it be? And what language in exchange?

Second guessing every pop I hear from my knee

So I’ve currently going thru recovery after my second surgery. Now every time I hear a pop sound while trying to flex my knee ( because I’m working on ROM) I go through a crisis. Every time I hear a sound from my knee I’m worried if something broke again.

How do you guys deal with this or how did you guys overcome this constant fear, not sure if it’s just me or is it a common problem.

What’s your guys craziest high stories?

Mine was we were out gone wild camping in the Pentland hills. Smoking a lot thru the hike and in camp. This was with an it her friend. It was freezing the whole night my friend fell in a stream. And the cold was fucking his feet up. As we kept climbing we realized there was no way we could finish to the peak as we could barely see anything and the gusts were brutal. And when we try to find a way to descend, and suddenly realized it was a very steep decline and my friend slid like 5 meters down in a patchy area. Somehow made it to a stream in the valley and set camp. My friend’s feet were just about to get hypothermia. Luckily it wasn’t yet cold enough for that yet.decided to smoke more before and after eating. My friend decided to nap at like 4 am and then I smoked a last j to smoke alone next to the river. The moon was in between the mountains peaks. It looked crazy to the eyes. I was rushing to the river smoked a j and was stood there just looking and hearing what’s around me. It was surreal. Now rushing wanting to get back cuz I was getting scared of the sounds. I couldn’t spot the way I came back and fell in a swamp. Mind it being like -2 degrees as well. I was knee deep and it was very hard to get out of. I somehow managed to walk thru it. The rest of the hike back in the morning was like hell but it was definitely worth it.

Different way to thinking about life

Maybe life isn’t about ending it happy or sad or where you’ve left. But it’s a passage of time we go through, and what makes that fulfilling and meaning is who’ve you’ve done that walk with. Friends, family, any relationships you choose. And maybe the purpose of life is to leave enough of yourself with others that, long after your walk is over, a part of you is still walking with them.

I was thinking about how everyone focuses on how they wish life ends. Rich, poor, full of accomplishments etc. but I think it’s not about the end.

Extensive Revision surgery

Had to go through An extensive revision ACL reconstruction of the left knee, with an extra side-stabilizing procedure called LET and repair of both menisci. In simple terms, they rebuilt the failed ACL and also fixed the structures that help keep the knee stable and cushioned.

The pain was absolutely brutal after the anesthesia, especially when they were draining the excess blood after 24hours. I’m back home now it’s been more than 48 hours since the surgery. This is the second time I’ve gone thru an acl surgery, this time much worse than the first. I’ve been trying to rebuild myself but progress with this serious of a reconstructive surgery is very slow.

I can’t even raise my leg by myself. Need help going to the bathroom or even moving up and down the bed.
Been playing guitar working on my business. Been trying to win at every small thing I can makes me feel better. What else can I do?

The pain right after waking up is still brutal. Leg still goes a bit numb.

The recovery is long and very slow mostly sedentary life for the next 2 months. I’ve been playing guitar working on my business reading and journalling. But I feel like I want to do more. I hate the feeling of being dependent on someone else, fucking even if I have to go to the bathroom I have to call my mum to help lift my leg. I want to win somehow attain some goals build better skills so it feels like I’m doing something right. What can I learn, do etc. which would help me in this way.

Help before surgery!

Hello so I’m going thru a acl and Meniscus surgery, and will go thru spinal anesthesia which is waist/lower body down. I’ve been smoking recently for 7-9 months on and off but recently in the last 1month been smoking 1-2 joints a day.

Is it fine if I don’t discuss this with the doctor is it going to be fine and safe ? And I’ve also stopped smoking a full day before the surgery.
