MP College vs JSSSTU Mysore - Need Advice

I have two options:

  1. Colleges in MP

MITS Gwalior

RGPV Bhopal

SATI Vidisha

Colleges in Satna, Jabalpur, etc.

Except SGSITS and DAVV Indore, I can get most of the decent options.

  1. Through COMEDK

JSSSTU Mysore – CSE

MP Colleges

Government colleges: ₹7–8 lakh total for 4 years

Good private colleges: ₹13–14 lakh total, with around 4–6 LPA average packages.

Pros:

Much closer to home; I can visit my family easily.

Lower fees, so I can invest the saved money in courses and skills.

No major food or language issues.

Better ROI financially.

Cons:

Fewer opportunities like hackathons, internships, and industry exposure.

In many government colleges, I may have to depend heavily on self-study.

Peer group may not be as strong.

CSE average packages are around 4–5 LPA.

JSSSTU Mysore

Total 4-year expenditure: around ₹18 to 20 lakh, including college, hostel, travel, and other expenses.

Pros:

More opportunities and better exposure; Bangalore is also accessible.

Better peer group.

Better academic environment.

CSE average package is around 11–12 LPA, with a median around 9 LPA.

Mysore is calm and peaceful.

Cons:

Very far from home; travelling can take around 30+ hours.

Going home during holidays will be difficult.

Family may also find it difficult to visit frequently.

Some food and language adjustment may be there, though I don't think it will be a major issue.

Fees are much higher, although the ROI seems reasonable.

So, I'm really confused. I'm from MP—do you think taking JSSSTU through COMEDK is worth the extra ₹11–12 lakh, or should I choose an average MP college and focus on developing my skills?

What are the placement statistics for CSE, ISE, and CSBS at JSSSTU Mysore? What is the placement percentage and average package for each branch? Apart from placements, how are the academics and overall college life at JSSSTU? I want an honest and genuine review from seniors, especially about academ

Any Northie girl taking jssstu mysore this year..

I want to connect with North Indian girls who are joining JSSSTU Mysore because I'm a girl from Madhya Pradesh and I'll also be joining JSSSTU. It would be nice to connect with other girls before college starts.

Plz help

Hi ,

I am from MP, and I am really confused. Please help me with your honest advice.

I have two options:

  1. MITS Gwalior – Computer Science and Technology (Autonomous)

  2. JSSSTU Mysore – CSBS (Private)

The total 4-year expenditure (fees + hostel + other expenses) at MITS will be around ₹10–11 lakh, while at JSSSTU it will be around ₹18 lakh.

Talking about placements, the average package at MITS is around ₹3–4.5 LPA, whereas at JSSSTU it is around ₹10–11 LPA.

Apart from placements, I feel that the peer group at MITS is mostly from Gwalior, Morena, and other parts of MP, while JSSSTU might have a more diverse and competitive peer group.

Another factor is distance. Gwalior is about 9 hours from my hometown, whereas Mysore is almost 30 hours away.

I am extremely confused about which college I should choose. Please give me your honest opinion on what you would do in my situation.

The last date to take admission at MITS is 30 July, so I would really appreciate your reply.

Thank you!
