MP College vs JSSSTU Mysore - Need Advice
I have two options:
- Colleges in MP
MITS Gwalior
RGPV Bhopal
SATI Vidisha
Colleges in Satna, Jabalpur, etc.
Except SGSITS and DAVV Indore, I can get most of the decent options.
- Through COMEDK
JSSSTU Mysore – CSE
MP Colleges
Government colleges: ₹7–8 lakh total for 4 years
Good private colleges: ₹13–14 lakh total, with around 4–6 LPA average packages.
Pros:
Much closer to home; I can visit my family easily.
Lower fees, so I can invest the saved money in courses and skills.
No major food or language issues.
Better ROI financially.
Cons:
Fewer opportunities like hackathons, internships, and industry exposure.
In many government colleges, I may have to depend heavily on self-study.
Peer group may not be as strong.
CSE average packages are around 4–5 LPA.
JSSSTU Mysore
Total 4-year expenditure: around ₹18 to 20 lakh, including college, hostel, travel, and other expenses.
Pros:
More opportunities and better exposure; Bangalore is also accessible.
Better peer group.
Better academic environment.
CSE average package is around 11–12 LPA, with a median around 9 LPA.
Mysore is calm and peaceful.
Cons:
Very far from home; travelling can take around 30+ hours.
Going home during holidays will be difficult.
Family may also find it difficult to visit frequently.
Some food and language adjustment may be there, though I don't think it will be a major issue.
Fees are much higher, although the ROI seems reasonable.
So, I'm really confused. I'm from MP—do you think taking JSSSTU through COMEDK is worth the extra ₹11–12 lakh, or should I choose an average MP college and focus on developing my skills?
