Was the shift from using "Khuda Hafiz" to "Allah Hafiz" by the characters once they passed the early 2000s. Why is this noteworthy?
Khuda Hafiz (خدا حافظ) comes from Persian and means “May God protect you” - as such it has been used for hundreds of years in societies influenced by Persian culture such as Iran, Afghanistan, Kurdistan and of course, the Muslim regions of South Asia. This word has historical precedence. However, Allah Hafiz is a late stage language innovation by the government of Zia-ul-Haq. Why? Because they wanted to Arabize and Islamize phrases in Urdu. However, it took around two decades from when he first tried to introduce it in the mid 80s, to when it actually caught on with the rest of the population.
Most people use Allah Hafiz now, but many in the Pakistani intelligentsia still prefer to use the traditional greeting, Khuda Hafiz. Interestingly, I noted that Major Iqbal was the only one using it in Dhurandhar 2.
For instance, a country like France is facing a massive debt crisis. This year alone, the cost of servicing its debt has risen by 25% to €65 billion annually, and its debt stands at approximately 117% of GDP (EU rules allow for a maximum debt of 60% of GDP, but there is no one to enforce this rule, as there are no consequences for breaching it). At the same time, the French economy is expected to grow by only 0.4% this year, and unemployment is projected to rise. All this is happening at a time when the ECB is raising interest rates. https://www.ft.com/content/d470e9dd-760c-46ae-93ec-014b59160b37?syn-25a6b1a6=1
Furthermore, France has no plans to cut public spending; elections are coming up next year, and both the right and the left are campaigning on promises to increase pension payouts - even though pensions account for 25% (!) of the French state budget... naturally, their debt is expected to keep rising. Denmark has very sound public finances, but I fear we could be dragged down into the abyss by our neighbors. Right now, Macron is pushing for the issuance of joint EU debt. This means we could end up being liable for their poor economic situation. Rising bond yields are being seen across Europe; in France, Italy, and the UK, they are skyrocketing. Switzerland and Norway are, of course, the exception. https://robinjbrooks.substack.com/p/the-global-debt-shock
The scene inside the Trojan horse where one guy gets stabbed and the others have to cover his mouth to keep him quiet is almost a 1:1 copy of a similar scene in Dunkirk where the British soldiers are hiding inside a boat and one guy gets shot, and they likewise struggle to keep him quiet.
Odysseus speech to Penelope on the staircase where he confesses his guilt regarding the critical role he played in the destruction of the world by breaking Zeus' law is very reminiscent of the one in Oppenheimer where he talks with Albert Einstein about how he fears he has started a chain reaction that will destroy the world.
When Odysseus is on Calypso's island, it is also kinda reminiscent of how in Inception towards the end when Leo DiCaprio's character lives in limbo and forgot that he needs to return home to his family. Especially since both Odysseus and Cobb both lose completely track of time in their respective "prisons". And of course there also some similarities to The Dark Knight Rises where Batman is in a jail and struggles to escape, while his city is burning.
What else?
These three airlines have tickets for business class in the same price range for the destination (+10h flight) I want to go to in January, in a price range which I find very reasonable (roughly €2.5K). How has your experience with the business class of these airlines been?
I am not the sentimental type and can barely remember the names of other women I have been with, but whenever I think of this one girl I honestly just start crying because I remember what I once had, but then lost. I didn't even cry when my dad died. But for some reason I am tortured every night by this particular memory of her singing along some love song while she was dancing and swaying from side to side, her face beaming with happiness and excitement, her beautiful eyes never breaking the contact. It makes me cry every time. I had met her in Sydney while I was traveling during my gap year, and we ended up having an amazing road trip across Australia, together. But long distance sucks (I am from Scandinavia). So I ended up breaking it off. I hate myself for not trying harder, but there wasn't any point, I was/am unwilling to move and she likewise. It honestly just sucks that time doesn't heal all wounds. The best you can do is to distract yourself.

How come in almost every comment section there will be some guy announcing that he has spend a cumulated 10 years in Thailand, injected more than $100m baht into the economy during his stay, but due to the new visa laws he is going to Vietnam now and is done with Thailand. Why stay around and announce your departure as if that would ever change anything? And why do these guys all sound the same? They sound like a Karen dramatically declaring she won't be spending money at Walmart anymore after the cashier has informed her that the promotion for coke zero expired last week
This happened today, a random guy got on a Ibn Battuta and kept staring at me, without even looking away. I got so physically uncomfortable and didn't know what to do, since it is my first time here, I ended up walking to another carriage. I am a North European man in his 20s by the way, I have never experienced anything like this ever anywhere. I was close to asking him what his problem was, but I am scared to get into any kinds of issues or conflicts when I am in a foreign country, so I just left. Then when I sit down, there is a guy on the opposite seat who keeps biting his fingernails and flicks it on the three of us sitting next to him. None of the other guys said anything, but I had enough so I got up and left
is this normal?
This is by far the easiest way to improve your blood line and to give your kids the best chances in life. I personally look for long legs, an athletic slim build, long arms (a large reach is good for martial arts, but also other athletic endeavours), and broader than average shoulders/clavicles. I also favour girls with slightly thicker wrists over thinner ones, because if they have a strong skeletal frame they could give me future sons with Alex Pereira like knock out power (of course, she must also have somewhat large hands to complement this, so my future sons don't become handcels). Personality wise, I also think it is best to find an assertive confident woman so your kids won't be totally social inept losers.
China keeps producing cheaper and cheaper EVs and electric mopeds. Soon, Bangkok's car and bike fleet will fully electrify, and it will bring such a huge increase in the quality of life. Finally the insufferable noise from the streets will be bought to a minimum. I remember visiting Shanghai right after having been in Bangkok for 2 months, and what felt the most surreal was how quiet even the main roads were. You could actually have a conversation with someone while you were walking on the sidewalk. This was such a huge relief, gone were the absurd need for shouting in order to talk with someone only an arms length away. Many studies have also shown how crucial silence is in the development of neurons, it literally promotes the growth of new brain cells. So don't be surprised when children in Bangkok start performing better when this happens, even if it only has a marginal effect!
There is also the added advantage that Thailand, a country without any oil and gas reserves, will become more sovereign and insulated from random conflicts in the Middle East (*ahem ahem Hormuz, US, and Iran*) as its dependence on petroleum subsides.
It took place yesterday evening just when it started raining heavily. Yet this grab bike still went approximately 90-100 km/h, swerving past everyone else, just flooring it. But then he took a turn that was too sharp and fell. He was wearing a helmet, and was walking normally within a few minutes. But the passenger was not wearing a helmet, and she hit the curb brutally with her upper body. I am not certain what happened, whether she hit the curb with her head, her neck, or upper back, but she was not moving at all even when we finally moved on, after we saw that medics had arrived.
