NYC WEEKLY ROUNDUP Aug 18–23, 2026 | Free Events, Concerts, Night Markets, Movies & More
🚨 NYC WEEKLY ROUNDUP 🚨
AUGUST 18–23, 2026
Hey NYC,
We’re back with another weekly roundup of things happening around the city.
We started making these because figuring out what’s actually happening in NYC usually means checking dozens of venue calendars, park pages, neighborhood organizations, markets, museums and individual organizers one by one.
Based on feedback from previous roundups, we’re also including a quick description under each event so you can tell what something actually is before clicking through.
This week has major concerts, free outdoor music, movies under the stars, Shakespeare, night markets, food events, jazz, dancing, waterfront activities and plenty of smaller things happening across the boroughs.
The event names below are clickable and go directly to the official venue/organizer whenever available.

KNOW ABOUT SOMETHING THAT’S MISSING?
Drop it in the comments — especially block parties, neighborhood festivals, smaller concerts, DJs, comedy, salsa/bachata/reggaetón nights, art openings, pop-ups, markets, volunteer opportunities, sports, watch parties, recurring meetups or things that never make it onto the giant NYC event sites.
And just to clarify: this isn't supposed to be every single event happening in NYC.
That would be completely ridiculous to fit into one Reddit post 😂
The goal is to give people a useful starting point across the city and then let the community add the smaller neighborhood stuff we inevitably missed.
If there’s something happening this week that people should know about, drop it below.
For transparency: I help build YourScene, a local events app.
We started making these roundups because finding things happening around NYC is still weirdly fragmented. You end up bouncing between venue websites, Instagram, Reddit, park calendars, neighborhood pages and ticket sites just to figure out what’s going on.
YourScene is trying to make that easier — from major concerts and festivals to smaller neighborhood events, nightlife, markets, sports, meetups and community gatherings.
