Is anybody else’s heart just racing already ?

I know I’m getting no sleep tonight i genuinely feel like a kid on Christmas but if Christmas was just someone whipping up shit in a kettle

Dear year tens, enjoy these random tips, other leavers feel free to drop more for them in the comments to ease their nerves

-Firstly,no,please don’t spend loads on new school supplies, just get a couple of good black pens maybe a few highlighters but honestly you don’t need that much.

-Kinda similar but don’t buy those horrible ai study apps-they don’t help you need active recall and spaced repetition not flashy colors and bad graphics plus it could be feeding you the wrong information.

-The rumors are true, year eleven goes by the fastest and it’s was the most stressful and best year at the same time, your year group will grow closer but friendships can definitely come and go much faster than usual,at least it was like that for my friend group,so, make the most of it.

-This is personal experience here but I don’t find scheduling helpful I preferred to use a checklist-download all your specifications and RAG it (red amber green).

-Drain your teachers dry,use them for everything they offer,or just ask,I personally abused my Media/English teacher to the max,I begged for marking, resources and advice;not just advice for gcse but further industry work and general College/Uni advice.

-You are your own worst enemy when it comes to revision, you need to be honest with yourself, constantly ask yourself,Is what I’m doing right now making results day better?

-Once you get a couple exams in you’ll enter the autopilot mode and you won’t be able to revise effectively the night before each one-it works better when it’s small things so tackle the big topics first.

Overall, gcses are just a stepping stone and a memory test,so to awnser the main question of should I start now?..I think yes.

Many will disagree with me but I started nearer the end of year ten summer and I believe you can get away with doing little but frequently and still get really high grades, therefore, the longer you have the more you can get in.

Any questions feel free to ask or dm mine are always open!

A year 11 leaver severely scared for the future-please do read!

Hi,it’s year 11 summer for me right now and I’m overthinking my a level choices.

I’m set on media studies but I’m not sure what I should do for my two others…my options are-

-sociology
-film studies
-English language
-English lit and language

I also want to take an EPQ but I’m very likely to have to retake maths which is just a whole other situation.

I think I want to take a BA Hons in some form of English and media in uni but idk what limitation id have from my subjects-or just media but idk what to do.

literally any advice is appreciated, thanks in advance.
