Ever since the new trailer for Nolan’s The Odyssey came out, there’s been a huge amount of discourse on how the film looks since they have been saying it looks like a Marvel film. And also their genuine cope that Dune 3 is gonna beat Doomsday at the box office lol. It also does help the fact that they also hate the MCU (or anything “theme park movie”-esque that they treat as slop) for some reason lol

Like, the MCU (or “capeshit slop”) isn’t peak cinema or anything, they’re just enjoyable romps people go to the cinema to watch and enjoy. But these guys just treat those as the death of cinema and being pretentious about it.

Honestly this reminds me of how people back in the 80s considered Star Wars and Spielberg as the death of cinema.

Like, I think it would be cool if a car chase scene was set to Heart, Queen, or The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. Would y’all be cool with that? I think it could honestly be refreshing for the franchise if they start putting more music genres other than rap and it would be very Tarantino/Edgar Wright-esque.
