I was reading about my beloved water tower today and came across this article, I thought it was interesting and wanted to share.

I’ve always wanted to climb the water tower and take a couple photos of Robbinsdale from above, but alas I’m afraid of heights.

Does anyone have any information on the Radio Systems INC CN-4 broadcast console?

It’s a Radio Systems INC CN-4, I bought it for 25 bucks a couple years ago and I can’t for the life of me find any information on it. No service manual or mention of it anywhere, most I’ve found is an article about a guy installing Radio Systems RS-12s for WJJY up in Brainerd Minnesota, any info would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: I spoke to Catfish Dosch, the current owner of Radio Systems, he looked through their archive and found nothing on the console, so musta been a one off console.

Edit2: Reached out to Dan of Radio Systems, will update if he gets back to me.

Houseboat, an update.

Finally finished building on the new very briefly released prefab, well I say finished but you’re never truly done with a build. But I digress, I wanted to go for something mid-century, exotic and lived in and I think I accomplished that pretty well.

Samsung SyncMaster 753DF

Buddy of mine recommended I give Descent a try, good game, confusing as all hell but in an enjoyable way. I oughta get a joystick, I’ll probably play better.

Been using this as my main monitor for a few weeks now after I got it out of storage, it’s got a great picture, even those newfangled games of the modern era look good on it.

Fully Furnished Houseboat

Now, I’m not at all finished with this build, just done for today. I was excited for this prefab, until I started building, way too big of a vessel.

I think I prefer the smaller house boat, easier to work with.

In case anyone was curious, I named the boat after the Walter Wanderley album.

The Modala Imperative

I’ve just read Issue #2 of the TOS four parter, And I have to say, I am thoroughly enjoying this series. It’s quite interesting and I’m excited to read what happens next.

I highly recommend picking up this series and giving it a read.

SyncMaster: the final frontier.

I got my 2001 Samsung SyncMaster 753DF set up, it may be covered in brake dust and other filth but damn does it have a good picture.

I apologize for the glare and reflection, there’s a window behind me.

First Appalachian Church of Saint Kilmister

Established 1916

Originally built it when the cathedral kit came out, but I’ve added a few additions since then so I thought I’d post the updated build.

My Sylvania SST413 died today.

My favorite TV to watch, had great color, a good picture, I had just bought it a replacement remote too. I suppose 26 years of service is a good career, although my ‘81 RCA is still surviving without being serviced for 45 years, but I guess they don’t make ‘em like they used to.

I’m not too broken up about it, but I am pissed about the remote thing, buy a new clicker and it dies a week and a half later, that’s some bullshit.

Well, guess it’ll live in the pile of electronics I’ll eventually get around to repairing.

Rewatching Manos: The hands of Fate, and I’ve made a realization.

Manos: The Hands of Fate is in fact the greatest horror film ever made.

Manos is true horror, no other movie can disturb the mind more than Manos.

I really mean this, Manos is one of the most uncomfortable movies I’ve ever seen, I don’t just love it because of how bad it is, I love how depressing it is, it’s one of the few horror films of its era without a happy ending, I love how The Master wins, I love how it’s shot in a way that make you uncomfortable, I love how horrible it is.

I love Manos: The Hands of Fate.
