ISRO recruitment process

I gave written exam for a post in SAC ISRO. It is not centralized recruitment but specific by sac, isro. The post is for scientist C atmospheric sciences and oceanography. There are 8 posts available. So, approx 40 students shall be called for interview.

My question is what kind of marks are needed to get interview (to get into top 40, or top 10).

What is historical data. I can't find anything on Google.

I'll appreciate if anyone can give insights.

How we go from curious kids in high school studying passionately to just surviving the phd (in the same subject which was our passion)

I joined this sub recently and saw that most of the posts are about struggles of phd life, the survival, poverity, underpaid etc etc. I agreed with almost all of them and felt relevant. And, in last few hours, i saw some posts from sub "physics" where the high school students and first year undergrads are asking about physics concepts, who are trying to learn physics with so much passion, and are looking forward to make career in physics and be scientist. I was also one of them when i was their age probably. I dont know how many people here are from physics. But what I am trying to say is that what really happens in these years from high school to phd that what we were really passionate about and wanted to spend life doing, is now feeling like burden and are trying to survive. What the outer world does to a child's curiosity that he just wants to get done with phd, or some want to leave academia. May be we get the reality check of life? and come out of the phase of romanticising learning physics? What do you guys think

How the JRF physics in india's top institutes can go to US PhD in astrophysics?

Is it common for people to do CSIR JRF physics, work as JRF for 1 or 2 years and then apply for US PhD? Do people do it usually? Is it easy or difficult?

If yes,

How to approach professors for JRF positions in indian institutes (because traditional PhD application don't make sense??). Do they post project openings or just email them?

What kind of universities in US are possible to get in with a JRF experience (and probably an publication) from top indian research institutes?

MSc grades are 78%. Will need GRE Physics to compensate? or it does not matter? And research and publication is enough?

Any insights or suggestions are welcome.

Wait after interview for research engineer position in academic lab

It has been almost 2 months since the final technical interview (first week of april) for research engineer position in an academic lab at a university. I have sent 2 follow ups. Last one mid may. Radio silence. is there any hope left or i should assume they ghosted me and forgot to send me rejection?? Or they are just busy in semester ending.

Is this long wait normal in academia or this is already too much ?

What is the longest people have waited to get job offer for research positions in lab??

ISRO Scientist to PhD abroad possible ?

Has anyone ever worked as Scientist at ISRO for some years, and then used that experience to land a good PhD in US? Is it possible or you need some kind of permission as a government employee? And, do the senior scientists give the LORs easily ?

What am I doing wrong in interviews that they are not getting converted to offers ?

I am getting interview calls, that means my resume is good enough to get shortlisted. But my interviews are not getting converted into offers.

What am I doing wrong?

Would like to know from other people, what are the potential mistakes people usually do in interviews.

What are the feedbacks they received.

What are the common mistakes people do unknowingly.

My field is data science/ML/Applied sciences

Does semester ending or summer time affect or delay the recruitment process of research engineer/research associate in the academic labs??

i did an interview in april for research engineer/research associate in an academic lab at one of the top universities. i got no decision yet. i dont know if i was first one to get interviewed or last one. i have sent 2 follow up emails - one 2 weeks after interview and one this monday. I was wondering if this is over or there could be delay because of the semester end and profs & admin staff being busy. Am i just consoling myself? is there no hope left? is this much delay normal in academic hiring? or i should just move on?

Can ISRO s experience be used as launchpad to get a good job in corporate ?

After a year or so, use that experience and ISRO tag be used to get a good job in corporate in a foreign country (provided you already have the eligibility to work there).

Is this possible? and do people do that normally and usually?
