Cataclysm - what emotion do you think this describes?

Cataclysm

In a moment, the world quakes

All that is known is engulfed in rain

You will fall, and you will break

Nothing feels the same again

But, look outward

Only you are wet

Only you are quaked

Birds still sing, yet
Your pain was hardly faked

People laugh, the sun still shines

No one but you knows

Of that cataclysm that broke the world

Six word memoirs?

Hello! Over the past week or so, I have been working on some six word memoirs. I’ve been trying to find some about every aspect of my life and being a trans woman is a massive part of that. I want to share a few that I’ve come up with:

Wrong body, wrong name, wrong everything.

Why was I made this wrong?

It took years to be true.

I don’t want to be him.

Wait, not everyone feels this way?

These are mostly based on my personal experience but I’m curious what everyone else has to say about themselves in six words!

My mom is supportive all trans people, except me.

(16 years old, MTF) not looking for solutions, I just wanna vent, but I am ok with answering questions

I don’t understand. She is very pro-lgbtq+ rights, and we have two trans relatives. But for some reason, with me specifically “it’s just a phase” and Im not mature enough to make those decisions. What. She praises me everyday for how smart I am, and how mature I am, but when it comes to something she disagrees with I’m suddenly a naive kid who’s easily manipulated.

Just a few weeks ago, we were at therapy and she told me that I only thought I was trans because my friends are all women. If anything, it should be the other way around! I hang out with girls because I relate to them the most. Plus, this completely ignores the male friends I have(which even around them, they would call me the most feminine there).

But a few minutes ago my sister(who I’m not out to yet) told me that my mom asked her if I was acting more like a girl because I hung out with girls. My sister, in her unintentional ignorance, said “that would make sense”. It hurts a lot to learn that THATS how she(my mom) perceives my identity. As if she knows me better than I do. Ughhh

That’s not even the full extent, but I’m too tired and too rattled right now to keep typing. I feel like crawling in my bed and crying myself to sleep.

Also sorry if this is hard to read or sorta ineligible at parts I’m feeling really dizzy from this whole thing

Why do so many cis “allies” not have any clue what trans people actually are?

(The title was a rhetorical question, I’m not looking for answers I’m just here to vent)

I recently came out to my parents. They said they would support me but it has come to my attention that they are extremely uneducated on the topic. The first thing my mom said to me was “… so you want to get surgery?” with a shocked/confused face. Right off the bat, she immediately links gender to genitals. And when I tell her my name, she goes: “but I like (deadname) more.” That’s one of the worst things you can say to someone who is changing their name. They definitely think that they’re supporting me, but their ignorance practically counteracts it.

This all made me realize that most cis people see us as weird hobbyists. That it’s all cosmetic. Most cis people who think they’re allies are just: “that guy in a dress thinks he’s a woman, let’s pretend he is one because we’re so nice.”

Because of this, they don’t take it as seriously. For the past week I’ve been deadnamed and misgendered more times than I can count by them, even when they said that they would try to be more conscious of it. Not one single time have they corrected themselves either. I understand that they need time to get used to it, but they don’t even attempt to address me correctly. It really fucking hurts because they don’t realize the terrible effect this is having on my mental state. They don’t know that it’s my sense of identity that they’re carelessly ignoring.

So yeah

TIL there is a whole different set of dialogue with Sarevok

Context: I am playing a resist durge and successfully denied bhaal's blessing after Orin

On a durge playthrough you can kill Orin without ever interacting with the murder solving story line. But up until today I thought Sarevok would disappear after you killed Orin, so I ended up doing the quest and it turns out that he's still there! The deathknights at the door will attack you if you offer yourself as the entry because you betrayed bhaal, and Sarevok will get mad at you and attack you if you talk to him. It's crazy how much I am still discovering over 500+ hours in.

Just want to confirm something plot related

I have a end-of-year presentation on dystopian stories and my professor let me do Silksong. I wanted to confirm that I have the story and themes correct since i've only played through once. I just have to mention some dystopian elements and warnings of the game.

The pilgrims take a pilgrimage to their place of worship, the Citadel of Song. The Citadel is promised to be a industrialized utopia, but it is actually run down and pilgrims are sent to work not for money but to prove their faith. The story can be seen as a warning against theocratic totalitarianism (GMS as both a god and absolute ruler) and blind worship/obedience. Despite the clear lack of utopia, the pilgrims are still constantly bombarded with propaganda that tells them that their work will pay off (it won't), which still is enough to convince them to work. A symbol of this is the bug Loam, who is exploited and working constantly in hopes of one day joining the others above in the city. He is working himself to death based on the lies told to him by the higher-ups.

Please let me know if I got anything wrong or missed something important! Thank you all
