Recently I’ve restarted Surya Kriya practice along with Shambhavi. I used to practice Surya Kriya very regularly at one time, but I stopped after realizing I was doing it for the wrong reasons. Hatha Yoga is tough. And when you’ve already made your life unnecessarily tough, you don’t need to make it even harder. It only makes things worse. So I had to take a break, loosen up, and allow myself to just live a little more easily for sometime.

Now, after several months, especially after going through Inner Engineering again, a lot has changed in the way I experience life. Maybe many internal barriers are gone. I also feel like I can take on more sadhana now.

The game changer was one of Sadhguru’s videos where he said, "if your body is not feeling life is tough, it means you’re not doing anything worthwhile. Body, not mind, he added with a smile. Your body should be constantly stretched. It may complain, but you don’t complain. The harder you stretch it, the stronger it becomes. This doesn’t mean you’re doing something. It means you’re constantly upgrading yourself, either through external work or internal work. Upgradation should happen to a point wherever you stand, you stand out. This is not in competition with anybody, this life should get to its full scope.

This is what Sadhanapada means. If you use this properly you'll always look back at this time as your insurance. It doesn't matter what life throws at you, you'll see nothing really knocks you off."

I’m not totally sure if I’m fit enough to go through Sadhanapada, but I’m definitely stretching myself physically, mentally, and spiritually in whatever way I can, little by little. Learning not to complain when the body feels challenged is something that builds endurance for life’s struggles and pains, I guess.

I’m hoping to stretch myself to do 3 cycles someday, but without stressing myself. I’m not rushing. I’m listening to life. And I feel life can never really go wrong. It always guides us correctly, if we know how to listen.

Wanna know what sadhanas do you practice everyday and what limitations have you broken? Especially if you're someone who's gone through extreme stressful situations in life physically or otherwise. How have you restarted your sadhana?

Sometimes yoga seems like too much for someone who's gone through stressful situations because all they wanna do is chill after going through traumatic experiences.

Now forcing oneself won't do any good. If you've gone through tough situations, what has helped you overcome it and come back to sadhanas like hatha yoga. Would love to know your story.
