Came across this at a gunshow and wondering the thoughts on the value?
When I started my law enforcement career in 1989 I was issued a S&W 3000 shotgun. It gets mixed reviews but I liked it.
A few years ago I decided I wanted to add one to my collection for nostalgia reasons (I was able to buy every pistol I was issued from the various departments) and felt the shotgun would be a nice addition.
Nothing fancy, no frills, but here she is
Someone recently posted their Pussers coffee mug. I thought I would share what I picked up at a thrift shop a while back. A salt and pepper shaker and I have no idea what the third one is unless its for water or cream.
Plates are UG. I was told on the UG sub the bowl was manganese.
This was my grandmothers. Any ideas what the glass is? (The blue piece. The plates are UG)
Thanks
Like most, I buy silver and gold bullion. I was at a local coin show in North Carolina and found Brandon with Goldback had a booth sent up as well as a couple of vendors with Goldbacks!
Thanks for letting me take the pictures and the 1/2 Florida.
Sorry for the light glare from his set up.
The movement is spreading
EDIT Because of the questions…The last picture is a vendor selling them. They were NOT part of the Goldback display.
I have seen multiple posts of people getting ammo shippments that had busted boxes, ammo spilling out, etc.
I thought I would post something positive for a change.
I order a good amount of ammo from Battlehawk Armory and have never had a problem with busted boxes or anything.
Picture on my most recent order. They could have put something inside to fill the space but that also adds to their costs which gets passed along to the buyer.
Fam helping fam

Every Christmas my wifes family does this stupid Naughty Santa with gift cards. Somebody picks a card. The next person can pick one or steal the first one. I’ve told my wife how much I dislike it.
This year I decided to do something personal for everybody in her family (about 18 people counting us and our kids).
I bought 20 of the Lowes mini buckets and put a Christmas theme Pez dispenser and a Dallas/Ft Worth Goldback in each bucket and handed them out. Everybody knows Pez but none of them knew what a Goldback was.
Lots of oohhs and ahhs when I explained what they were holding was actual 24kt gold.
Picture is a simulation because I don’t have a Pez dispenser
Got lucky and won this in an earlier giveaway and am hoping I will get lucky with this latest giveaway.
ETA fat thumbs equal bad spelling. Title should be hoping for twice
Was at a gunshow today and bought my grandson a CRKT M16-12z knife.
I immediately realized it was an older knife based on the brown cardboard box. Looking at it at home now, the included paperwork is so old and brittle it wants to tear if I try to unfold it. As you see it was made in Taiwan.
Is this the right sub to get an idea of hold old this one might be?
Picture includes a modern M16-O1S that was made in China.
Are these the real deal Leatherwood mounts? Found 3 at a gunshow.
This is not a be all, end all post about the 5906, but it is information for new owners.
If you purchase a 5906, contact S&W and give them the serial number and they can check to see if yours has had the grips changed from the original production.
Why this matters-Sometime after the release of the 5906 S&W realized there was a design issue with the grips that if it were dropped and the grips broken it could cause problems with the mainspring, causing the pistol to fail to fire.
S&W remade the grip to eliminate that problem and issued a recall on the originals.
The problem was, this was in the early 90’s and notices in magazines were the only way to get the message out. I don’t have the information on the exact years involved but if you contact S&W they can tell you if yours were part of the recall and if they have been changed. If they haven’t been changed, they will ship you replacement grips free of charge.
I have seen a couple of posts where people were advised about this and checked, some were already updated and some had not been and got the replacements.
For comparison, the first release of the 5906 had what is called the “square trigger guard” see in pic 1 (from my collection that i bought in 1989 right after they were introduced) later production had the round trigger guard in pic 2 (Stolen/borrowed from u/8upsoupsandwich recent post)
I was issued one of these in the 80’s when I started my law enforcement career and decided I wanted to add one to my collection
Saw this the other day and wondered ‘ Why, just what are they gonna do’
