Max rate for jejunal fluids?

Trying to eventually get adequate hydration. Has anyone ran jejunal fluids (not feeds) at high rates, like 200s? Mainly just curious if it's possible or safe to try since there are only 24 hours in the day and I'm trying to maximize my fluid intake. I know J feed rates usually max out around 130ml/hr, just wasn't sure if fluids were different. Thanks!

Experiences with carbon fiber and "premium" wheelchairs?

I was blessed with a grant opportunity to get my dream wheelchair, but now I have to decide what that is! I've heard a lot about carbon fiber and have been eyeing the TiLite CR1, but don't know much about the pros and cons of various materials and brands. I currently have a TiLite AeroZ and it gets the job done, but is bulky and cumbersome--especially to load in and out of the car. I have shoulder issues, so ease of pushing is paramount! Would love any and all recommendations, TYIA!!

Normal behavior or hospital tank time?

30 gal community tank with three male guppies, in addition to various tank mates. The past couple days, one of the guppies has been sequestering himself in this corner and just kinda hovering there. After water tests came back fine I was going to move him to a hospital tank, but then I saw him swimming around a bit with his buddies so I left him in. Is this normal goofy guppy behavior, or do I need to hospitalize and treat for some sort of mystery illness? Any advice appreciated! Thanks so much.

Help! ADF lethargic at top of tank

I went to go feed and couldn't find my lil guy, then realized he was floating at the top of the tank and appeared dead. He barely moved when I went to net him out, so I obviously didn't take him out. Any suggestions on what could be wrong or what I can do to help him? Really worried about my little dude!

**water brown from tannins**

EDIT: Google just taught me about "zen mode" lol, sorry to bother the sub. Crazy I haven't seen either of them do this before in the past 6 months

Antro-duodenal manometry

Hi, has anyone had an antro-duodenal manometry before? I'm scheduled to have this test and I've had a really hard time finding information. If you've had it, did it give you answers? I'm worried it won't show anything even though I have a delayed liquid GES. Would appreciate any information or personal experiences! Thanks!!

Who orders your iron infusions?

My GI and PCP both say it's not their problem but I feel like crap and my ferritan is the lowest it's been. I don't have a hematologist and know it would take a long time to get into one, any tips? FYI I can't tolerate oral iron supplements and am tube fed into the jejunum, which means I miss out on a lot of iron absorption since duodenum is bypassed and iron is absorbed there. Thanks!!

End of flashback/kinda legacy spoilers+rant

Okay, rereading the books the whole unmatchable situation makes ZERO sense. Why on earth do they need the DNA of both of Sophie's parents, when they LITERALLY HAVE SOPHIES DNA. She literally uses her DNA for everything, and if the issue is really genetic compatibility then it's only Sophie's genetics that matter, not her parents. Anyone else annoyed by this giant plot hole, or am I missing something?

Flashback bedrest mechanics

Currently re-reading Flashback, I know it’s a bit of an odd observation but does anyone else wonder how Sophie and Fitz used the bathroom while they were on bed rest together? Nothing I’ve considered makes sense and I don’t want to think too much about it, but I am curious lol.

Fin rot or feisty crayfish roommate?

Recently took over this “problem” tank from my brother. Betta and dwarf orange crayfish, betta has notable fin damage and tank has algae issue. Please let me know what else I can do to get this poor guy back in decent shape!

Tank parameters are decent: ammonia 0.20ppm, but from what I understand with a PH of 7.4 that’s not toxic. Nitrite 0ppm, Nitrate around 5pom and can’t get lower since that’s what our tap water sits at.

Tank has heater (sits around 78F) and decent medium-flow filter. Doing daily 25% water changes (with gravel vacuum) and dosing with StressZyme and double dose of StressCoat.

Currently feeding freeze dried blood worms and cheap tropical flakes, but Xtreme will be here today.

Going to LFS today to get hornwort to help with algae issue. I also have tank lights off and tank is covered during the day.

Crayfish and betta seem to be getting along well from what I’ve observed, but that doesn’t mean there couldn’t be an issue.

TLDR, does this look like fin rot or a nipping issue from crayfish, or both? Would love any advice for treatment!

Granulation tissue on new GJ site

Title. I’m one week post-op and would love any suggestions on how to stop the beginnings of granulation tissue around my stoma.

I was given a low profile AMT GJET, but it’s about a centimeter too long for my stoma so that doesn’t help things. My doc recommended granulotion, but it’s outside of my budget.

I’ve been dressing the site with split gauze and changing it when I notice it’s wet, but my tube has been fairly leaky the past couple days.

Any and all advice/recommendations are appreciate! Thank you in advance.

Positive GJ surgery story!

I got a GJ placed yesterday for the first time and it went very smoothly! I was nervous hearing all the accounts of people who had a rough time so just wanted to share that it isn't always difficult.

I stayed at the hospital for a few hours afterwards for tube teaching/pain management and was offered the opportunity to stay the night, but felt fine going home. They gave me two doses of pain meds to take overnight, but I actually didn’t end up taking them and was fine with just heat packs overnight, though sleep was a bit restless.

It is very helpful to be able to vent air out of the G port, especially since I had laparoscopic placement and they had to inflate my stomach with air.

It‘s the day after surgery now, and with ibuprofen/tylenol my pain is at a 2 sitting still and a 3-5 moving around, but very tolerable!

All around easier experience than I was expecting so just wanted to share that success!

Please help! GJ tube surgery tips

Getting a GJ placed laparoscopically on Tuesday, I’m nervous and would love any and all advice on pain management, recovery, and tube care!

I’ve had an NJ for 9 months so excited to get rid of it, but nervous about surgery. My only surgical experience is laparoscopic gallbladder removal, in case anyone can compare them.

Tube will be 14fr AMT G-Jet, I’m also nervous about starting with a button initially since I know that is uncommon and my surgeon basically guesstimated what my tract length will be.

Thank you all in advance!
