Chameleon skin close up

Looking for excuses to try out this cheap little microscope and thought you might like to see shed panther chameleon skin closeups.

Trypophobia warning.

1: dime for scale, no bananas, sorry.
2-3: outside scales
4-5: inside scales

The creature’s greed disgusts me

Keeping some tomato hornworms as feeders for a chameleon, but they’re so cute!
Plucked some sprigs off the tomato plants to give him and seems like he likes it.

Edit: Since he’s now tasted tomato plant, I won’t be feeding him to the Chameleon since it could be poisonous. Didn’t want anyone to worry.

Dubia question?

Anyone know what these little things on this one Dubia Roach are?
Only one out of 250 has this, never seen it before but only been dealing with them a few months so far.

Gill mutation?

It was neat to see this lil guy who was just a little different, but still doing their best.

Enough root flare exposed?

Seems like more roots outside the bank than inside. I wonder how long it’s been here?

Couldn’t resist

There were so many examples of this species nearby, I brought one home to add to the collection/obsession.

Lovely Fern

Spotted this lil guy on yesterday’s walk. Only one of this type that I could find, but I love the dainty foliage. No mature sori underneath yet.

Edit: Location - Northern Mississippi

The Most Flared

Very impressive flares from a park trip a few weeks ago. Love the little microclimates that develop from a little erosion creating overhangs.
