Would you bar this?
Its from achilles last stand by Zeppelin. Struggling and not really comfortable with any fingering. What would you do? (Bpm ~150)

I know its a shot in the dark. Its an old rack unit.
Just curious if theres any success stories out there and what you did to get latency under control. Audio from overbridge has significant latency it drifts so things start out behind then get progressively more ahead, making it absolutely useless, which sucks big time.
Anyone have any luck using overbridge in reaper? Not only do i have a ton of latency, ot actually drifts so I cant align anything without cutting up each note.
Im trying to set up my control surface and the problem I am running into is I can only statically control track volume by track number, so if I need to ever add a track my whole mapping is down the drain from that track on. I have 7 folder tracks that I want to be able to control the volume of with the surface, the child tracks I don't need surface control of (or rather, by selected track is good enough)
I had my neck off swapping for a new one (BTW mighty mite necks...or at least the one I got is so damn good. 10x my original MIM neck. Then again, when u do it yourself you take ur time and do it right). Anyway, I had my muff off my board because it was just too damn noisy to use. Now? Its insanely quiet. Like I literally cannot beleive the difference I hear. So pumped, I was not expecting much if anything at all. With all the bullshit out there about tone, I thought this is probably one of them. BTW, I already had noiseless pickups. Those singles are stacked humbuckers...dimarzio area 61(7?) and heavy blues 2. It took me a good couple hours tho, all those bends and curves were kinda a pita. Fingers are all cut up too lol.
I just installed this neck and I think I did a pretty damn good job with the neck holes and putting on straight. Everything levels and measures good...except the action. At the nut its "low but just not too low" but at the upper frets its "not sitting on the fret but as close as it can be without touching". Which obviously chokes out the notes. So i then cranked the saddles to their max and as is no fret buzz, but will be a guitar with really really low, but consistent action.
The question i have is, would you shim this to get the saddles down to a reasonable level for future adjustability and humidity changes? Whats a good shim for such a small amount and what should I keep in mind? Thx!!
Im preparing to install a new neck, and watching a bunch of videos ive noticed that all the neck pockets ive seen are flat, and mine bulges at the corners. Is this a problem? Do I need to get that flat before installing the neck?
As I sit here on the toilet, I wanted to take a moment to share my extreme joy that I have found in the dimarzio super distortion. (And also a bit of a fuck you to prs for not posting their own pickup wiring diagrams).
I did not like prs #7 in the bridge position. Too dark, muddied up too fast with gain, single coil split too weak. Ive kinda dealt with it for years trying to use pedals and eq to get the sound I wanted. Switched to a super d, instant clarity clean and driven and sounds godly with a tube screamer and klonish pedal.
Anyone want to buy some #7s to finance my neck replacement? Lol kidding. Hanging onto em for who knows what.
Just want to leave this here because theres very limited info on this device and hope it may be helpful to someone in the future.
If you are experiencing noise.. I dont even know how to describe it, whining, whirring, across the spectrum that goes up and down. 1st and foremost, replace the power caps. This improved the performance but didnt solve it.
What finally got the unit back to tiptop shape was fixing the voltage regulators ( with the metal heat sinks attached). Since the unit runs so hot the solder joints decay over time. Either clean and re solder the leads or just get some new ones, theyre cheap and Reapply some good thermal paste. Thats what fixed it for me!
I am attempting a diy repair of an audio processing unit, mxr dual limiter. I need to replace 2 of them (see pics). One is +15 +7.5 and the other is - 15 - 7.5 . They need to be the same dimensions so the heat sinks fit over them. Would anyone be so kind as to help me find comparable (highest quality possible) on mouser? I searched and im just not sure . The part number for one of them is ua7815 uc 7952. The other is faded but its just the negative version (one is pnp the other is npn?) Sorry, im new to this stuff.
Also, if its possible to get one that has improved heat dissipation or can withstand higher temps that would be great, this model notoriously runs hot and pushes tolerances out of whack.
Tearing apart an old stereo receiver, found this tamradio audio transformer. Is it any good? Worth it as a coloration tool as a passive transformer to drive?
What a great pedal. It was not at all what I was expecting. The MF101 is gritty and loud, the Mutron (Btron) is squelchy...this meatball clone is clean and controlled.
For only 150 used, no brainer, dont have to wait for Behringers meatball and I get a high end hand built boutique pedal.
Its highly controllable, had every knob you need and sounds great. I ran my dual phaser thru the loop and it made some great soaking wet modulation sounds. 10/10!
Never heard of this company before but they make really good stuff!
I found this cable, thought it would be good cut op for patching, but its so thin!!! Can I use it to patch between pedals?
Thinking the tube screamer is pretty redundant. Want a bluesbreaker or blues driver, but honesty feels like overkill.
And a bit of good news. I lined the entirety of my mf101 with copper reflective tape (rip my fingers, covered in micro cuts) and it seems to have stopped picking up some nasty helicopter like noises it was picking up before!!
Also, npd in the jhs mod soul food. Clipping diode difference is minimal and neglible at higher gains. Meat knob brings bass back for some minor loss in the GE mode, its useful.
This year has been my year for really practicing guitar, i mean meaningful practice, exercises, metronome, learning whole songs, and doing it multiple hours per day. This has been going on for almost a year. Stellar progress, so proud of myself and daily commitment....well these last few weeks ive been playing some bloodvotne and street fighter 6. I have been at music multiple hours per day, but its been more focused on writing and recording than practice.
Well I went to go play a bunch of those songs I had burned into my brain, I mean I literally spent hundreds of hours playing some of these to learn them and improve to the point I could play them well. And now only 2 weeks later? I cant play em. I can play parts of them, but I simply dont fuxking remember the fingerings for many, many songs. This has been an issue my entire guitar playing history. Always forget things so fast I eventually move on. I think its why I gravitate more towards improvisation.
Rant over. So frustrated rn. My memory and recall are absolute garbage and im so sick of losing everything, never remembering shit, and an inability to recall the simplest things.
I got the phone as close as I could to it to capture the sound. im running a big muff into the front and while there is no speaker, i can literally hear my guitar playing in it. Wtf? Anyone know what's going on here?
