I don't understand why some people jump out of their sit when this is said because it seems pretty factual. It's pretty well established that men are faster, and stronger physically so I won't insist on that.

In terms of actual skill, watching women football, even at the highest level, I see a lot of gag goals and the general level of play is very low. The goalkeepers in particular are very very bad.

And if you look at the results against not even men team, but even boy teams...

And of course let's not forget the time where the world champions USWNT got beaten by a pack of 14 year old boys from Dallas (not even la masia or something).

What could change my view: I think if someone could point to a massive blind spot I have in how I see women football that would change my view.

I see way too much disrespect for Benzema, and you can hate him all you want for his behavior but we're here to talk football so let's analyse calmly.

First, his work off the ball and dribling and playmaking is very under rated. Very, very few players could have done what he did so many years that allowed Ronaldo to score so much. If he were called Benziminho people would be playing his highlights non stop. I think the only striker who can challenge him in that area is Suarez, but more on that later.

Despite playing in Ronaldo's shadow for much of his time there, he is Real Madrid's second highest ever scorer and has the highest number of assists. When Ronaldo left he was already past 30, and yet when he returned to a role where he was the number 1 scorer it was clear how great he was.

This all culminated to a 2022 year which is imo the best year any striker has had in this generation.

Having said all that, his comparaison can only be Suarez and Lewandowski.

Suarez was a fantastic player, no doubt about that. It's very close but IMO you have to take in consideration that Suarez consistently failed to show up at the biggest stage, the competition with the highest level, the Champions League. It's not like Benzema is just a little better than him there, he has more than 3 times as many goals and won 5 times more trophies! Suarez also never had a year where he was clearly the best player in the world, while no one argued Benzema's Ballon d'Or

Lewandowski is the much more lethal finisher and has a better longetivity, there's no arguing that. However Benzema has him outclassed as a playmaker. More importantly, Lewandowski played most of his career in a Bayern that was super dominant in its league and he always proceeded to ghost the biggest games. Benzema has a catalogue of big games like his 2018 UCL final, his hat trick against PSG, his Lyon game against Madrid before he joined them, that Lewandowski simply doesn't have.

I wouldn't be mad if you believe either of those 2 is better than Benzema. But it should be considered a very close debate.

We have a rule that basically protects existing big clubs and ensures they will remain unchallenged.

Honnestly it's so obvious that it got introduced by the big clubs as a way to shut the door after them, even Platini said so. What I don't understand is why so many fans support it.

I was thinking of Leicester city and how their players were not noticed before. Because they were young but not super young either. Mahrez was 25 and playing in French second division right before. Vardy was even older but I'm not familiar with his career before that season.

I can understand overlooking Vardy to some degree as even the best strikers will struggle if they are not fed proper balls. Kanté too, as on paper France churns out players of his style all the time.

But Mahrez... He has legit one of the best first touch I have EVER seen, that alone should catch someone's eye earlier surely? The guys reeks of football. I feel like if he were brazilian he would have been transfered for 50+ million at 18.

I was thinking about France and I wonder why we never tried it. Well at least every player would play at their club position. Mbappé and Dembélé as strikers and Olise as RW.

Main arguments against that I could see are France historically plays the 4-2-3-1 with a 10 who we rely on for all our attacks (Zidane, Griezman, Olise). And a second one, which is the one I wanna discuss here, is that the 4-4-2 is outdated.

I would challenge this a little. I think what modern game has shown is playong a wide 4-4-2 with a target man and crosses indeed doesn't work anymore. In general direct attacks from the centre are proving more efficient.

However, why would playing 2 wingers who cut inside, a false 9 in Dembélé and a striker who prefers the left area not work then? It's not even true that 4-4-2 is oit of fashion as that's what Arsenal plays off the ball.

Veteran here. Not that told but was born with my older bros' PS2. Have played almost every fifa from 06 to 19 which is the last one I played seriously. The ones I played most were 12 and 17. For what it's worth, fifa 17 is by far my favorite and was such a breath of fresh air.

For some reason I have half a mind to go back to playing it... might buy the 27 one.

But I was wondering how the game looks these days? My first thought was I must be bad now but that's just the way life goes. But I stopped after 19 because that game had too much BS from what I remember... You could abuse the skills like it was fifa street on the PS3. It was also too scripted to the point it required ice cold veins to play.

I liked to play mostly seasons online and career. Never had enough patience for FUT so I usually tried it a little but not too much.

I'm curious because I do like playing basketball but watching it live is impossible for me with how many breaks there are. And I hear American football is even worse in terms of how many breaks there are.

I am a football fan though and most of us thought the World Cup was a disgrace for having quarters. Yet most Americans I've talked to seem to shrugh it off or like it. The last time the WC was in the US, FIFA already wanted to do quarters, seemingly to appeal to Americans.

The British invented football, but the French invented the World Cup, the Champions League, the Euros, UEFA and FIFA.

The Brits actually shunned all of those at first, and would probably have been content just playing on their island.

If you know football you know how hard a tackle/kick from a pro is. Most of the times players are just avoiding getting their legs broken by jumping. Also, when you are running at full speed, any push or knock can easily make you fall and players let themselves fall to avoid injury.

And they roll around because refs don't notice otherwise. Remember the time where we allowed litteral butchers to end careers by not calling fouls? Hell, remember that France-Paraguay game 3 weeks ago to see what happens when you don't call fouls.

Honnestly this shouldn't even be a hot take, for me if you are one to complain about dives and players exagerating every time there is something you are either an old head who tells you the way Maradonna was treated in 86 is true football or a fat ass who has never played football.
