When I moved into my home, I met the older lady across the street. Her house may have been the fanciest on the block, meaning the most expensive. She clearly was used to getting her own way. Our home's yard was bordered by hedges that were a bit unruly when we moved in. Shortly after we moved in she told us there was poison ivy growing in the hedges. She was right. No wonder they were unruly. After a year or so we both ended up allergic, meaning we could no longer cut the hedge. Remember, she is the one who told us about the poison ivy.

A year or so later, I discovered an anonymous note in my mailbox complaining about my hedges. Apparently, it was "scratching cars," even though you would literally have to cut the corner of my property for that to happen. Now, no landscape company would touch that poison hedge so by now it was beyond unruly and looking wild. I knew she was the writer, knew she knew why, and ignored.

A couple months later I was reported to the township. Someone handed me a notice that the hedges needed trimmed or they would and charge me. I said GREAT! I would love it if the township could find someone to cut my poisonous jungle and would gladly pay. Guess what, no one ever came.

Then one day I came home and the portion of my jungle closest to her home, consisting of a single plant about two feet across on the edge of the property, was cut down. Poison ivy and all. Free of charge. Funny, I didn't see her outside for a while. Suspect she was scratching more than her car.

The best part was she failed to kill that plant. It and the poison ivy are back, wilder than ever. She hasn't said a word.

My BZ's doors randomly unlock. Usually it's the driver side door, but sometimes it's every lock. Parked in a garage with a camera, never anyone near it. Happens a couple times a month, tonight was the second time this week.

I was at the local park this evening. As I was heading out, something caught my eye. It was a large, sharp shard of glass. All around it were more, right on the walking path and next to it in the grass. It was someone's shattered glass bottle. This park is a playground. Right next to it is a preschool/daycare with tiny little kids that regularly walk around that path. Kids ride bikes and scooters there. It was also right on the path from the parking area.

I had to crawl around on my hands and knees to get up as much of the glass as I could. I had a lovely lady stop to help. We both marveled at how anyone could be that rude and inconsiderate as to break a glass bottle and leave the broken glass in a public playground. Then we dumped the glass into the trash can.

The trash can was six feet from the broken glass. Guess that was just too far.

Pulled into a parking lot at a public park the other day and discovered a woman sitting in a giant SUV with the engine idling, scrolling on her phone. The problem was, even though there were multiple open spots, she'd chosen to park in the unmarked travel lane across from four empty parking spots. The lot had spots painted on one side, with an area for travel in the lot just wide enough for two vehicles to pass. She'd placed herself squarely in the travel lane because apparently parking normally is for chumps.

Being a chump who generally follows the laws of the land I pulled into the closest spot, mostly because I didn't want to try to squeeze past this weirdo and park further in where I can't see my vehicle from the park. Naturally, this required a bit of maneuvering to get in. As I was backing up to get positioned better in the lane, Karen apparently wanted to make sure I saw her giant vehicle. She laid on the horn. Having seen her just fine and with my rear several feet away, I backed up further than needed to get in. Then I did it twice more for fun, getting inches away each time. Gotta make sure she sees the correct way to park, right?

She laid off the horn and was absolutely fascinated by her phone when I got out and gave her a friendly smile and wave.
