Was this considered bad sportsmanship?

So I was playing a game of chess with a good friend of mine who I’ve known for years. Part of our dynamic is that we do tease each other here and there, but it’s all friendly, just guys being guys. We were playing chess, and I forfeited the match about 3 moves away from a checkmate. He got annoyed and claimed it was bad sportsmanship even though I politely pointed out that I was bested. Now I was upset that I lost, but I was not trying to prevent the win. If anything, I view it as the same thing as winning normally because I’ve made the decision to throw in the towel. He said that I was trying to spite him and that grandmasters usually quit early on when they know that they have faced defeat, and he said I had plenty of time to forfeit but choosing to do it then shows bad sportsmanship and pettiness. He had won the two previous games we played, and I had asked for my time on this match to which he had reluctantly agreed. After the match, he then made fun of me for losing and claimed I was just mad that I lost. We debated for a bit about it. I claimed he was just saying this because he didn’t checkmate me and conclusively win the way he wanted. He then just kept mocking me, and was showing the match to a friend of his to make fun of me (we were on the phone)
I guess my question is whether or not it was bad sportsmanship, and what I can do to avoid this situation in the future. How do I let the person know that I respect them and their skill after losing, while still maintaining self respect, when the person is better and is more than happy to remind you that they are?

Is it normal for people to ignore customer services greetings?

I’ve worked in a retail store, and in a restaurant, and whenever I am at a desk where customers come to me to request service, I greet them, and ask what they need politely, and respectfully, in an appropriate tone, while making eye contact. But often times I find that people will completely ignore me and get straight to what they want help with. Sometimes they ignore any follow up questions I have and just repeat their question, or just avoid eye contact with me. I do have some trouble reading social queues and the like, so I’m hoping I’m not reading too much into it.

I took a break because I found the 150cc cups too hard. But after messing around with vehicle builds and practicing the courses, I did it!!! DK jungle is probably my favorite course ngl

Where does the “een” sound in American English normally show up?

I’ve noticed that in American English, some speakers has the tendency to pronounce the “ing” sound at the end of words as “een”. I assume it’s only prevalent in certain parts of the country. I’ve lived in Michigan and I do not hear people making this sound, but people in eastern Nebraska tend to. I’ve also heard it from Ryan Alison as Deacon in Fallout 4, and the internet says he’s Californian, so perhaps it could be pretty common in the west coast

Where can I find dubbed Chichewa cartoons??

I really want to improve my Chichewa sentence structure, and conjugation. One good method for that is watching cartoons in the language you want to improve in, because they use simple and fundamental language that is easier to understand, since it is intended for children.

I remember seeing those dubbed Chichewa films on DVD when I was a kid around 11 years ago. Are there any websites, resources etc which have popular cartoons dubbed in Chichewa? Please let me know!! Zikomo kwambiri!

Does the Rinnegan resist Tsukuyomi?

It’s said that the rinnegan is an evolution of the mangekyō sharingan, and that it is stronger. So I’m wondering if it is possible for a rinnegan user to break out of a Tsukuyomi using it, since we saw Sasuke break out of Tsukuyomi using a 3 tomoe sharingan. Keep in mind however, that it’s implied that Sasuke could only do that because he’s related to Itachi. Kakashi says it in the kid Naruto manga

Problem with used Nintendo Switch

I bought this V2 Fortnite switch from eBay. It’s stuck on this screen, and I’m not sure on what to do
I’ve tried cleaning the rails on the joycon and console, replacing the console’s rails, turning off the console, resetting the joycons, and putting them back in, and I’ve connected and tested the joycon on a PC, with Bluetooth, and it worked just fine, but I can’t get past this screen. As you can see, the animation plays when you connect the joycon, but it should be blue, and not clear/gray like it is there. I’ve tried almost everything. I even tried the pro controller that the console came with, and it didn’t let me get past this screen. It is a well-used switch, as there are lots of sign of wear and tear, such as scratches, can paint falling off. Aside from getting another joycon, Is there anything I can do?
Edit: I replaced the JOYCON’S rail, and it worked!!!!
Thank you for those who commented with suggestions!!!! It’s truly appreciated!!

Is it possible to Mod a V2 switch?

Does it require a hard mod, or is it possible to mod it the same way you’d mod a v1 switch?

People who don’t play online video games, how do you go about playing single player games?

I’m asking because I find myself unable to fully immerse myself in new games that are single player. I mostly think that if I don’t like it, I can just go back to Fortnite, which is a game i feel obligated to play because I have a lot of skins I like to use, and like I have to finish the battle pass. I usually set time aside to just sit and play video games, but lately I feel like I can’t immerse myself in a game and learn its mechanics, and learn to love it. I feel like when I playing single player games, I’m not giving them my full attention/dedication, because I feel like i have to use some of that gaming time to play Fortnite or some other game. I was thinking I should just make myself play a single player game I’m trying to get into, and just make myself learn it, and not think about going back to the familiarity of other games I already play regularly. But what do you do when starting a new game? Do you just boot it up, get started immediately, and learn the mechanics without distractions? Please let me know
Edit: There are some games which I have been able to fully immerse myself in, and made me stop playing Fortnite or other game I’m familiar with. And those were Fallout 4, and Spider-man (2018)

Is it still possible to progress through prestige?

I was in prestige 1 when I stopped playing in June 2025. I reached level 55 in prestige 1 yesterday, and I can’t seem to enter prestige 2, despite being a high enough level. Is this some kind of glitch, or did this become normal after B07 was released?

I first picked this game up a few days ago, and I’m in love with it!! Really fun mechanics and great maps!!
The graphics look pretty good, despite the blocky finish. I’m pretty captivated by it, and I somehow beat this cup with 3 stars after continuously trying!!
Seriously, rainbow road is pretty hard😭

But yeah, I’m loving this!!!!
