Working on Tilawa

Been working on the iOS version of my Quran / Hifz app over the last weeks.

The goal is basically:
make it feel calm, focused and actually native on iPhone instead of just copying an Android UI.

Some things I’m currently building:
• memorization mode with speech feedback
• immersive audio mode with animated/video backgrounds
• ayah-by-ayah reading flow
• progress tracking & daily goals
• quick access sessions like Ayat Al-Kursi or Surah Al-Kahf

Still a lot to improve, especially the memorization experience and STT accuracy for Arabic pronunciation/tashkeel.

Would genuinely love feedback on the UI direction and overall feeling so far.

Replacing the bad habit with Quran ...

Salam together,

getting rid of this bad and sinful habit, we have to concentrate 100% on Quran and Sunnah. Only with Gods (swt) help this bad habit can be replaced with a good one. Remember when the prophet lYusuf (as) asked God (swt) for help and strength to resist, when the wife of Al Aziz wanted to tempt him.
We as normal humans need to go back to Allah (swt) and trust that he is going to help us, because he loves us.
I am trying at least to read one Page of the Quran everyday, so that this becomes a good habit.
And I am trying to build a calm Quran App , helping for recitation, reflection and listening to Quran. Building this App is helping me and I hope its helping also others....

Salam everyone,

I’ve noticed that I often go through phases where I read regularly, and then I slowly lose consistency again.

I tried different apps and methods, but many felt either overwhelming or didn’t really help me build a daily habit.

So I started working on something simple for myself:
a minimal setup focused on reading, repetition, and tracking consistency.

I’m curious — what actually helps you stay consistent with the Qur’an?

Is it a routine, a specific method, or something else?

Salam everyone,

Over the past months, I’ve been working on a small app called Tilawa. I originally built it for myself because I struggled to stay consistent with reading and memorizing the Qur’an.

Most apps felt either too overwhelming or not really focused on building a daily habit.

So I tried to keep this one simple and calm: – a clean reading mode – a step-by-step Hifz mode (Ayah by Ayah) – audio with repetition – basic progress tracking

It’s still early and I’m actively improving it, especially the learning flow and recitation support.

The Play Store listing is still being updated to English, but the app itself is already usable.

If anyone would like to try it and share honest feedback, I’d really appreciate it. Even small feedback, especially what feels confusing, helps a lot.
