Houston to New Mexico Drive - need help
I’m planning a family road trip from Houston, Texas, with two kids (ages 4 and 10). Since it’s a long drive, my goal is to complete the first leg from Houston to Carlsbad in one stretch, which is about 11–12 hours.
After that, I prefer driving in the evenings (roughly 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM) because the kids usually sleep in the car. I’ll be driving a Tesla with Full Self-Driving (FSD), which should make the long drives a bit easier.
I’ve outlined the itinerary below and would appreciate any feedback on whether it seems too aggressive or if I’m overlooking anything. Are days enough for each City? On return its 16 hr drive so how can I add a day and break the journey?
