Pet inventory?

I know it's not in the spirit of og EQ, but what would folks think of a pet inventory like what EQL is running: basically a tab within the Character window shere you can equip items to your pet. If the pet does or is replaced, the items persist.

Presumably you would need to re-loot your own body on death to recover those items, too, so you couldn't hold stuff there infinitely.

I kinda think it would be a nice way to balance out how pets are essentially additional gear slots for those classes, without running additional risk of losing their items.

Curious about ENC play

Spent some time in the closed beta this weekend and reached LVL 4 on my Enchanter. Got added to a Wyrm-whatever group (very new, know none of the terms) and wound up hunting skeletons in a lower level with a great group and reaching 5th LVL.

My play time was mostly throwing a bunch of 1hr long buffs on folks, then sending my pet to attack. Stuff died too quickly for my slow or other debuffs to have much impact.

I'm wondering if that's part for the course for an Enchanter, or if things get spicier later on. I don't *mind* the buff role at all, but if it's just more of buffing and sitting for an hour, I'd rather run something like Shaman for healing between buffs or Necro for better pet damage between utility.

What are higher level testers finding?

I love the art in Monsters & Memories but, uhh, is that not a gh? (SFW IMAGE)

AM I cooked? I'm not even sure what this is supposed to be. Sorophal is the god of invention and my best guess is that he has canonically invented anon stall play.

How do Leadership's Cohort levels translate to CR?

I have just taken Leadership. I want to recruit a Mongrelman Ranger NPC that has been travelling with us to make him my official cohort.

Mongrelmen are CR1. As I understand it, the 1 level of Ranger doesn't impact this.

If I can have up to a lvl 4 Cohort, what changes, if any, can I make to this NPC to bring it up to par with that cap? Can I just make him a lvl 4 ranger with all that entails and call it a day?

RP trios based on deity: which classes would you choose for your favourite Norrathian god?

I was inspired by someone else suggesting builds with thematic links, so I laid out the trips I thought worked best for each deity in Norrath. I'm keen to see what other combos folks would suggest for their favourite gods, too!

  • Bertoxxulous the Plaguebringer. A god who revels in poison and disease, and the decay of all things NEC/SHM/ROG
  • Brell Serilis the Duke of Below. As the father of dwarves and gnomes, but also gnolls and goblins RNG/WAR/SHM
  • Bristlebane Fizzlethrope the King of Thieves. A trickster deity who values quick wits and quicker fingers ROG/BRD/ENC
  • Cazic Thule the Faceless. A god of fear and pain who relishes the loss of hope in the face of the inevitable SHD/ROG/NEC
  • Erollisi Marr the Queen of Love. Goddess of love and one of the prime Paladin deities PLD/BRD/CLR
  • Innoruuk the Prince of Hate. Creator of the Dark Elves and corruptor of all that is good in Norrath SHD/CLR/ENC
  • Karana the Rainkeeper. The god of storms, rain, farmers and wanderers RNG/DRU/WIZ
  • Mithaniel Marr the Lightbearer. THE paladin deity; God of justice and self-sacrifice PLD/BER/CLR
  • Prexus the Oceanlord. God of the deeps and sailors — but disapproving of fishing MAG/BRD/WAR
  • Quellious the Tranquil. Goddess of peace and knowledge of the inner self MNK/CLR/WIZ
  • Rallos Zek the Warlord. God of war and victory over others WAR/BER/SHD
  • Rodcet Nife the Prime Healer. God of kindness, healing, and the expulsion of disease PLD/CLR/RNG
  • Solusek Ro the Burning Prince. God of fire, bravery, and power by superior force WAR/WIZ/BER
  • The Tribunal the Six Hammers. Gods of methodical and patient, but inevitable, justice BST/MNK/PLD
  • Tunare the Mother of All. Goddess of all things, tending to Norrath which birthed her and all peoples DRU/RNG/MNK
  • Veeshan the Wurmqueen. Goddess of dragons, sacrifice of others, and servitude ROG/SHD/BER

What would you run for a more support-orientsd trio?

I mentioned in another post that I tend to prefer support roles in MMOs, and I think that's part of my struggle with choosing a trip for EQL. I appreciate the solo-ability of the game, but I'd also be content as a supportive second or third (or more) in a group.

Rolling all 3 Priest classes seems dull to me, so I'm curious what other interesting combs may exist.

I'm missing something about the math on Spellblade, aren't I?

Factor 1: I'm not playing enough to be above 10th level on any combo.

Factor 2: I've been running duos of PLD or RNG with Necro/Mag/Enc as my second class

What am I missing in the Spellblade math? I see lots of folks saying it isn't worth it, but in my experience, I've seen it proc 2-3 times per short encounter when dual weilding on RNG, and 1-2 times vs. short to mid-dursrion targets with a 2h weapon on PLD. I can only imagine this gets better with Berserker Stance. And yet. I keep seeing folks say it isn't worth taking over other Invocations.

Does anyone have a simplified math breakdown of how it compares rn?

How are folks finding all-castrr trios?

I've mostly seen hybrid caster/hybrid or caster/melee builds, so I'm wondering how people are finding double/triple caster builds rn.

I'm using the pre-launch beta to play around with things, but I don't have much time to play each week so feedback from others helps :)

Managing spells at table with Pen and Paper

Hello!

My current DM prefers us to be tech-free at the table to reduce distractions. While I prefer a digital character sheet, I'm trying to adhere with his wishes. I haven't played without digital tools since before 4e so I need help: how are Wizard and Cleric (and all the rest) players juggling your spells at the table?

Our Wizard is just jotting his prepared list down then flipping through a PHB every time he casts a spell which is... Not my style. I like having all my options laid out in front of me.

What do?

Ranger Bow Damage: STR or DEX?

I feel like this is a constant discussion, but are folks finding Rangers get more bow damage from Str or Dex? The Wiki has quotes saying Str determines bow damage AND that Dex determines "how hard you hit with bows."

Genuinely not sure which to focus on 😅

Returning Player lost: how does equipment work?

Okay. I know that I like Bow, it runs well to me. I'm thinking picking up Pactbreaker trait would be good because I remember that now seems to pop wounds like crazy with my focus ability.

How do I go about that? lol

The Ajarakan set looks like the best option. Should I just rummage around for fire resist and water damage then go hunt a bunch down? I feel just a little lost

Not a complaint, but a question: Why does GW2 have so many German streamers?

I've noticed that GW2 seems to have more German streamers that land at the top of my YouTube searches and suggestions than any other MMO I have played.

I'm super curious what it is about this game that has seemingly driven interest in Germany.

With them revisiting old content over the next year, I hope we get strike versions of the end bosses

I was just rethinking my battles at the end of PoF and HoT and I really hope they give us Strike versions of those and others. I appreciate that I was able to do those stories without having to try to find groups, but they also felt just a little lack luster after my time playing other MMOs.

I think the revisit is a great opportunity to amp those fights up to their proper spot in the lore.

Expo Line only running to Broadway this morning ? (6/8)

Train from Sapperton says it is only going to Broadway. Is this a FIFA change I missed? There's nothing on the Alerts page as of 639 AM.

705AM Edit: the train switched to Waterfront and the attendant I spoke with at Broadway didn't know about the mislabel. Looks like it may have been a blip in the system or they were testing something 🤷‍♂️

Why does every donor CRM make it impossible to pull a donor list?

This is a bit of a rant, but I have never been able to find a CRM that can easily pull a donor list. I just want to know which donors have a cumulative gift of X between 2 dates so we can properly recognize them in our annual guide, and it is a chore every year.

Seeking recs for Men's Pedicure in South Granville

Anyone have any good recommendations for 2 dudes to get pedicures in South Granville? I'm looking to take my buddy to get his feet pampered for a birthday gift because he deserves it and also his feet are badly in need of care.

I know some nail places can be uncomfortable or outright refuse to treat male clients which I don't have an issue with, I just want to know before booking.

There's a tonne of nail shops in town, too, so having some recommendations would be a big help to narrow the field!

I'm up next in my group's GM rotation, which means I have anywhere from 4-6 months to plan what I would like to do next (we're slow but we have fun). I'm really drawn to Numeria and the Mana Wastes as we haven't played in either.

The Mana Wastes look like a fun kind of Sword n'Sorcery era setting where magic is rare and dangerous. Numeria looks like a kind of Sword n'Science setting where you can fold in Starfinder content and replace some "magic" with tech.

Anyone have any experience in either area and have tips on the vibe of each?
