What is going on with Franklin Ave?! Specifically the strip between the railroad and St. Claude, both directions. Surely a politician or two has been down Franklin at least once in the past 5 years, right?

I don't take Franklin as much anymore (maybe a few times a month), but when I do, it always seems 100x worse than before. I fear someone's going to bottom out at the intersection of Claiborne and Franklin, heading towards St. Claude. The entire strip in both directions is undrivable!

Is there anything in the works to fix it or is it just another shitty ass thing we have to deal with?

Wishing we had Mamdani here right now. ๐Ÿ˜’

Holy shit. What happened to the ads?

I've had adguard DNS on my phone for the past year. I decided to turn it off for some booster boxes, so I could finally get through this tedious flip board and collect a couple rewards.

So I opened the game, exited out of the usual 50 pop-ups, opened the flip board, tapped a level, watched an ad for a booster box...

Then I sat through a 60-second ad for Temu, then 15 seconds for the stupid Temu wheel spin and then another 15 seconds for the X to finally appear. Holy shit. 1.5 minutes for a booster box that won't even help me on a level I will most likely have to play at least 10 more times. Who do they think they are?! Not even King puts their players through 1.5 minute ads and they're the epitome of enshittification.

I'm turning my adguard DNS settings back on. I don't know how people sit through this shit. How long have the ads been this diabolical?!

Edit: settings for ad blocker included in comments

Guys, I did it. ๐Ÿ˜ญ I removed the 850 staples and completely reupholstered my four dining room chairs. Even added new footsies to the chairs. ๐Ÿ˜Œ The difference is night and day.

Do any online stores allow the purchase of half yards?

I'm looking to reupholster my dining room chairs and settled on crypton tweed fabric. I only need 6 inches more than a yard to cover all 4 chairs. However, all of the stores I've come across only allow the purchase of yards, not half yards. I hate having to pay $90 for material when almost 45% of it will be wasted (I will have no use for this fabric once I am finished with the chairs). Plus, I'm trying to keep a strict budget. Does anyone know of an online store that allows the purchase of half yards and carries crypton or something similar?

Reupholstering dining room chairs - couple questions

I bought this dining room set in 2010. Over the years, the pleather has started tearing. So I decided I would reupholster them.

I was planning on reusing the foam, but once I took off the pleather...YIKES. The foam was practically disintegrating. Then I went to YouTube (https://youtu.be/MmQpQmhXbMo) and it said I need foam and batting. I found those items, but now I'm second guessing what thickness I need. It appears that the previous foam is less than 1". I'm assuming it was 1" initially but flattened out over the years due to zero batting/wear and tear.

Another thing, removing the staples has been an absolute pain in the ass. I have tried every tool under the sun, even purchased a special staple remover from my hardware store. Nothing is removing these things. I removed a handful of them over the course of an hour, but given I have 4 chairs in total, removing 150+ industrial staples from each chair sounds like pure torture. The board is 0.5" thick. The staples currently in the chair are ~0.25" into the board, so halfway. I plan on using the same staples.

So my questions are:

  1. Should I do 1" or 2" foam with these chairs? Any specific width for batting? And
  2. To avoid the pain and suffering of removing the old staples, can I just flip the board over and have the foam rest on the stapled side? Then I have a clean slate to add the staples to? I thought about stapling around the previous staples, but there are so many, I feel like they would eventually get in my way.

Indy's worried that the potatoes she's planted won't be enough to feed the little ones.

Decided to plant Indy some pet-safe organic grass. Safe to say she likes it. ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Made 12 cat kicker toys for the kitties at my local SPCA. Couldn't have done it without Indy, AKA my supervisor and product tester. ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Does anyone else have an insane amount of issues with the newer CRVs? Everything rattles.

In addition to the door rattling...the radio rattles, the dashboard rattles, the driver window rattles, the heater doesn't get remotely warm until it's turned to 84 (low-83 is basically all the same temp), the steering wheel makes a cranking noise when turning and whenever I press the gas pedal between 1.5-2 rpm it sounds like there's a cicada under the hood of my car.

2024 CR-V, bought brand new. Only 11,000 miles done in a little over two years. This is our third CR-V in 13 years and because of the endless issues I've had with this car, I will never buy a CR-V ever again.

I just realized that there are two rows of boy emojis and only one row of girl emojis for all people emojis. Why is that?

Not to mention, the boy emojis are practically identical. OH BUT THE BANGS ARE DIFFERENT! ๐Ÿ™„

I "despised" cats my entire life. Then I fostered this sweet girl...and obviously had to keep her. I love her so much it hurts.
