Why do authors insist on making speedsters "Faster than light"?
I dont understand the reason or point of it. A speedster able to move at idk 300 km an hour would be fast enough to dodge bullets, catch criminals and basically do everything the flash does in the movies or the tv show bar traveling back in time. It also limits him and gives a legitimate excuse why they dont just auto win every fight ever.
But they insist on making every speedster MFTL+++ or whatever. This creates so many freaking holes in the story and questions.
First if for example the Flash actually went from being stationary to accelerating to close to the speed of light it would instantly create an explosion that would blow up an entire continent.
Second If Flash were moving close to light speed, he wouldn't see the world normally while moving that fast. Relativistic aberration and Doppler effects would drastically distort the light entering his eyes. So everything would just be a blur to him, how is he even suppose to stop crime.
Lastly and most importantly, if we ignore all the previous points and just say he does it via superhero magic, then why the hell doesnt just immediately solve all crime. If he was moving at the speed of light it would take only him a couple of seconds to go through every single person on earth in every country. There is no explanation on why he doesnt. And remember, he is often quoted to be Faster than light. This also brings up the question of how the flash ever loses a fight or even gets hit. How is that possible unless he is fighting other speedsters. I just cannot understand why the writers insist on making him and other speedsters FTL. Making him like go a couple hundred kilometers an hour would fix all of these problems and he wouldnt even change at all as a character. Only thing that would change is no more time travel. if 1000km/h doesnt sound cool enough just say faster than the speed of sound.
Then we wouldnt get bullshit like the "attosecond" quote

What is going on with Indian subreddits spamming posts about China having a "caste system"?
The last week, dozens of indian subreddits and also thousands of accounts on twitter began spamming posts about having "exposed" China's caste system. They claim that China has a caste system far worse than india and are celebrating the fact that they have exposed "China's secret"
They use old images and claim that China is split up into caste like Shang, nong and more even though from what I could find, nothing like that exists in modern day China. Twitter is also filled with random videos and images of China with zero context giving "facts" about China's supposed caste system. They have posts like:
"woman from nong caste beaten by shi caste woman, this is what China is really like" or "This is what a shang caste neighborhood looks like in China" Or images of richer and poorer people in China and claiming that they are from different castes

Xiaohongshu secures 2026 FIFA World Cup streaming rights
Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu, also known as RedNote, has secured the broadcasting rights for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with all 104 matches to be available free of charge through live streams, replays and highlight clips on the platform.
Users will be able to watch matches via the Xiaohongshu app, its web platform and mobile screen-casting services, the company said.
"Securing the rights for live streaming and on-demand broadcasts of the World Cup is an invitation from us to football and sports fans around the world," a Xiaohongshu representative said, adding that the platform will leverage the strengths of its community ecosystem to introduce new interactive formats and immersive content experiences.
The move comes as sports-related content continues to gain traction on one of China's largest lifestyle-sharing platforms. Xiaohongshu said that its football-interest user base has surpassed 100 million in the past year, with interactions and discussions related to football content more than doubled year-on-year
All of Shakira's World Cup songs except Waka Waka are mid and the only reason people are glazing them is because its Shakira or because the other songs are even worse
I feel like the only world cup song she made that was actually good was Waka Waka. The others like La La La and Dai Dai feel like a generic football song with World Cup branding slapped on it. The lyrics makes no sense, and it feels more like background noise. And I have no idea how Hips Dont Lie is even a World Cup song.
Every single person I have seen in tierlists always put all of her songs in S tier aka "Shakira tier" immediately and I feel like I am going insane
