I’m not saying I liked or disliked the original song they used. That’s a convo for another time.

Instead of making Jax basically indirectly kill Ribbit with his attitude, have the convo leading to them developing a closer bond.

The talk up on the mountain wasn’t an argument, it was their last happy memory together. Maybe even add a scene up there that hints at Ribbit’s internal struggles, but Jax doesn’t push hard enough to get an answer out of her because she says she’s fine and even though he knows something is wrong, he doesn’t push it.

Ribbit soon becomes distant and then a few days later, have the same scene with Jax knock on Ribbit’s door only to transition to him hiding from her abstraction.

Have it turn out to be that Ribbit abstracted without warning, causing Jax to feel not only heartbroken but betrayed. His closest friend just abstracted and no one will ever know why nor will Jax know if it was somehow his fault or if he could’ve changed the outcome if he just pushed a little harder.

Then once Kaufmo offers his support, Jax goes off and the flashback continues as originally shown.

Jax is afraid to get close to anyone again, because he doesn’t want them to leave him. I feel like his mindset would be “Why get close to someone else if they’re just going to leave me too?”

Yeah Pomni and Jax might’ve been good friends, but in Jax’s mind, how long would it have been till she herself distanced herself and ended up like Ribbit the second she got the chance. He couldn’t handle that again.

But that’s just my thoughts, maybe y’all disagree.

It’s such a beautiful reference to the first episode and Harry’s face conveys so much emotion here.

Seeing his friends dancing with the new alien almost gave me a sense of jealousy from him and I couldn’t help but just wanna hug the poor guy. Like he didn’t want his fear of being replaced to come true🥺

But I know it could also be a mix of happiness knowing Earth will be okay when he’s gone and gratitude for the friends he’s made during his time here. Plus a sense of sadness knowing this will be one of the last happy moments he’ll have with his family. (That’s probably the actual reason judging by his amazing dancing moments later.)

How is it there are so many buddy cop movies, yet these two take the pie? Even though I think Mike and Liv’s characters were wrapped up nicely, I wouldn’t complain if we were to get an episodic or story driven series featuring the two solving crimes like the Rookie or NCSI.

The difference between the first couple of films and the later installments is how in the older films, Chucky felt like a violent man trying to get out of the shitty situation he’s in and doing anything he can to achieve it. He didn’t embrace his doll form, he hated it. It felt real. Chucky today feels like a parody of himself.

Yes, it can be hard to make a little doll scary, but you can definitely make him creepy. And I think the first couple of films, including Curse and Cult did really well with that. The problem with films like Bride and Seed was that they used the doll form to make people laugh instead of flinch. Same for the series.

FOR CLARIFICATION, I have never seen this show and I hardly know anything about this character aside from the fact that a few people over on another subreddit said I looked like him. I have no idea whether to take “you look like Spike Spiegel” as an insult or compliment😭
