Helix piercing... HEEEEELP

So I've had a helix since November, and the swelling comes and goes, but the real issue is the earring.

They gave me one of the ones where the post wraps around the earring, and you have to press both together in the ear for it to stay (like a flat-back plunger thing?).

Here's the problem: I can't get it out. I've only been able to get it out once or twice successfully, but it always hurts and it's so painful that I start crying. Most of the time, I can't get it out of my ear. Period.

What the hell do I do? I can't live with this piercing anymore; I can't get it out without my ear bleeding, if at all, and it gets all swollen. Should i try to get it out again and replace it with a little hoop or something?

Please help me

The most underrated show ever: Lab Rats

Ok why does nobody talk about this show? It's actually pretty good! The plot is fun, and the characters are... Meh but not the worst.

Has anyone seen this and can back me up?

Come on!!!

Nerve Damage (California)?

So I posted here the other day about the complications with a donation I just made. I'm feeling much better overall now, but after a few days, my arm has been really funky.

When I move my arm a certain way or touch or rub it the wrong way, I get this horrible burning and shooting pain. Like someone is stabbing and slicing my arm down the center, starting right near where the needle was inserted.

I looked this up on Google, and it said that it might be nerve damage from the donation. However, I'm not one to trust Google, so I figured I might as well ask a forum of experienced people who might have had this experience.

Anyone? I'd really appreciate the help!

What if... That was the way it was supposed to be?

Ok, such a click-baity title, but I think I have a cool theory.

I notice a lot of people saying the characters don't grow, that there are so many plot holes, and that the show is very disjointed, and time makes no sense. However, what if that was the point?

What if we think of each season of Riverdale as its own comic book? Not a linear series, but a set of comics in a box?

What if the show takes place on the shelf of an Archie Comics collection and every season is its own special issue? Riverdale comics have been super disjointed in the past. Archie goes horror. Archie meets superheroes. So what if they were trying to treat the show the same way?

Nothing was supposed to make sense together. Each season has vague references to the others, but they act as separate entities, like a comic book series.

This theory can be supported by how the audience thinks about the seasons. They're always separated. "Season 1: Jason. Season 2: Black Hood. Season 3: Cult." It reads like separate comic book issues, you know what I mean? Each season wraps up the seperate, unique conflict in time for the next season.

Also, if you watch the show's seasons out of order, it still makes sense. The show doesn't really have many elements that carry over into other seasons. Sure, Betty is haunted by her darker half, and sure, Veronica has a conflict with her dad that stems back a season, but the time isn't particularly important, and there's not much change.

This also explains the issues with time within the series. One moment, Archie's driving a Thunderbird; next, they all have social media. Archie comics have been around for over 80 years, and they flip-flop between eras. I've seen recent comics that have created their issues in a 50s vibe, but others that take place in the present day.

In essence, the show is 7 comic books come to life, not a connected show.

Why do I get messed up after the donation is done (California Cedars-Sinai)?

For context, I'm an O-negative blood donor and have been donating for a few years now. I think I've donated around 9 or 10 times. I do it either in California or New York, depending on where I'm living. I always eat and drink a lot before I donate, by the way!!! I've fainted once, and the thing I'll be describing has happened a few times.

Dude, I always get messed up right after the needle comes out of my arm. Besides the jitters when the needle goes in, I'm perfectly ok (relatively) until it's finally over and the needle comes out. I would think that after I'm all done, it would be better. My body is relaxing, you know? Plus, the donation is pretty slow-going, so I feel like the downward escalation would be more gradual.

But today, immediately after I finished, they needed to lift my feet and put on cold packs, and all the color drained out of my face. I felt so nauseous and was like one missed breath from passing out. Why is that? Why is it so immediate?

I'd love to know just so I can hear what I'm doing wrong. Thanks!

Emo Girl: A retrospective

I'd love to chat about this, now that it's been out for so long.

To be clear, I really like this song! This is just a discussion I think is worth having!!!

This song gets too much flak. I don't believe it's nearly as bad as the internet says.

It became such a meme for no reason. It's supposed to be a little silly and campy, similar to Cliche, not a serious anthem! However, I believe Cliche did it better, and that Emo Girl was the blueprint for campy, silly songs like that.

I can see why the internet thinks it's bad, though. The lyrics are too tacky to be considered a parody right off the bat, and having the collab with Willow makes it seem too serious. Plus, releasing it as a single was a bad idea. The chorus is kinda underwhelming lyrically. If they had beefed it up, it might have had a better chance. Lastly, the sonic asthetic was a little bland, and for a parody, something new has to be brought to the table.

That said, I think Cliche did a lot better with the parody aesthetic. It leaned into it more, but with some nuance that Emo Girl didn't perfect just yet.

What do y'all think, now that we're out of the heat of the MS era?

What Lightyear Could Have Been...

It would have been so funny if, instead of going serious with the movie, they had made it camp and funny. Like a parody of Star Wars.

It would have also been so meta because the original Pixar artists were working at ILM, George Lucas's company, hahaha.

I'd love for Pixar to do just one unserious movie to throw off audiences. Like their own "emperor's new groove".

The Lightyear we got wasn't very good because it was way too serious and epic. I don't think that's where Buzz would have come from. This movie would not have had a toy line with the Buzz that we see in the Toy Story movies. He would have come from a slightly bad, campy movie like Spaceballs.

A little memory: My first pair

I was going through some old photos, and I got so nostalgic. I found the photo of my first ever pair on the day I bought them at Century City Mall in LA. It was with my Chase Privileges card (when I had one), and it had a limit, so it got declined. I almost cried, but my mom called me and said, "Just this once," and I walked out so happy. Good times.

Now they're all banged up, so bad that I had to fix the toe area with Sharpie, but I remember how new they smelled. Ugh! I fell in love that day

Is Disney Lagging Behind?

We've been seeing so many studios like DreamWorks, Sony, and Laika come back, better than ever, with new and innovative styles. However, it's like Disney and Pixar won't change. Are they not willing to evolve, or do they simply not have the technology?

Phineas's Original Personality...

Apparently, the original idea for Phineas was that he was supposed to be snarky and kinda short with people. You know, a little more arrogant than the Phineas we know and love.

While I love how kind-hearted and humble Phineas is, I can't help but think about how much dimension the original character had and how he could have had growth like Candace. Additionally, Ferb would have had a little more to do as a temperance for Phineas.

I love the original storyboard for "Rollercoaster" when Phineas says, "Is there something I can do for you, Isabella?" Idk, it's just so funny to me. Maybe it's because I prefer more complicated characters over angels...

Has everyone kissed everyone?

Like, seriously, throughout the course of the show, everyone has kissed or been with everyone. Archie is especially the culprit here, only missing Reggie and the parents, I think. Sheesh! Like I honestly laughed and cheered when, by the very last episode, the core four... Get all together? Like girl, finally!!!

Do yall think this is insane or just freaky?

Why was Fletcher so hard on the drummers only? (Whiplash 2014)

Hey guys! So I was rewatching Whiplash, and something wasn't sitting right with me. Why, out of every section in the studio band, was Fletcher so hard on the drummers specifically?

Like, think about it, Fletcher is very, very volatile. We know this. But what makes the drummers so special that he abuses them so harshly? Like, why didn't he give any flak to the bassist, or even the pianist? Like the pianist and bassist also contribute to the tempo as well, so what about them? It's not all on the drums to keep the tempo sometimes.

Now I know what y'all are going to say, "Andrew was Fletcher's passion project. He saw potential and tried to cultivate it in his own way," or "he was hard on the trombone player as well". But what I say to that is, why is it so disproportionate? The trombonist walking out is child's play compared to the drummers, who are forced to play until 2 AM to get the double-time swing. The saxes get absolutely nada!

What is Fletcher's backstory to drums? He doesn't even play them! I guess it pays to be a trumpet player...

New dress I'm insecure about... Help?

Hey guys,

I bought this beautiful dress a couple of weeks ago. It's teal and white with flowers, but I have a serious insecurity about my arms and shoulders. Between the side of my shoulders and upper chest, in front of my armpit, some fat bulges out and it makes me feel wide and ugly.

Is having fat in that area normal? I'm going out on a date in that dress and I really don't want the guy to think I'm ugly. Should I wear something different?
