So first of all, I love Frieren, both the character and the anime, it's made me cry multiple times and it's a genuinely beautiful show, but for the love of god can Frieren, Stark and Fern have a single original experience on their journey? This was a slight problem in season 1 but it's almost comical in season 2, because it feels like everything they do has already been done by Himmels party, oh a nobels sword was stolen by demons? Well that exact same thing happened 70 years ago. Oh our party got snowed in at village? Well here's a flashback to the same thing happening to Himmels party. Did Stark and Fern go on a date in this town? Well you bet your ass Frieren and Himmel did too. Even something as mundane as Stark wanting to run away from a dragon has a flashback of Himmel saying they should run from a dragon. I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if an episode started with Stark shitting his pants, and then it cuts to Himmel also shitting his pants but then he stares into the camera and says "sometimes shitting your pants is part of the adventure, especially when you're with friends", and then the beautiful heart string pulling music comes in and Frieren does her little end of episode smile".
