I have a small bump on my arm from picking, it’s somewhat scarred over, and occasionally I feel a weird ache.

It’s like subdermal, under the skin, but not the bone. It just feels weird and wrong. The skin isn’t discolored and there isn’t any swelling or anything

I’m trying to figure out if this is psychosomatic from me focusing too much on it, or if something is actually wrong. Help?

Hey, I’m trying to help my mom.

Somehow, her outlook jumped from “hey it’s almost full” to “you have ten times your storage and can’t receive emails” in a few days and she’s freaking out.

She’s trying to delete stuff, but the deletion folder isn’t emptying. Whenever she tries to delete it, it says to contact the IT Admin. But her email is personal, so we have no idea what’s going on.

Another sub category, any fics where Piggot just gets the entirety of Worm lore plugged into her head? That’d be a fun oneshot to read.

Lately I’ve had a bit of brain fog, and I just felt a weird throb.

Where a migraine would be something like spread out pressure maybe with pins and needles, this felt like a sort of ping? It was like a flash of pressure slightly under the surface, with a few after shocks?

Don’t know what sort of headache this is, thought I’d ask

So I had my first college semester this/last year, and my sleep schedule was very much messed up, to the point where I wasn’t eating breakfast, instead relying on lunch and dinner.

When I came home, I was surprised to find that instead of the Freshman 15 I expected I had actually lost weight.

Looking back, it’s pretty obvious that this is because I was only eating 2 meals a day.

The reason I’m posting now is because I’m still in this poor schedule and trying to break it, and I just keep psyching myself out over little things.

Turns out though, part of the problem I think is I’m still not eating enough. Because I’m walking up later on average and am awake, well, now, I’m basically having lunch for breakfast and dinner for lunch with no dinner, and apparently going hungry is bad for your psyche, which would explain why I keep scaring myself and going on spirals, especially late at night.

I just shoved some leftovers in my mouth and am heading to bed, feel free to comment tips or condolences or whatever else, I’ll be checking this in the morning.

So recently Imgchest has been acting… ‘weird’ is putting it nicely, it’s become a bit of a nightmare. Whenever you click on the page, be it to look at the images itself or even to load more pages, even if it’s not on anything, it loads an ad to some trashy site. Like “explicit comic right away” trashy.

Onto the actual problem, I’ve been dealing with it and looking through, when suddenly it happens again, just this time it also DOWNLOADED something to my computer.

I, reasonably, freaked out at this point and immediately deleted whatever was downloaded. Looking at it in the recycle bin, it’s something called OperaSetup. Gonna look into that a bit in a minute.

Anyway, just posting to ask if there’s anything I should look for to see if anything got by me the previous dozen times? Also, any suggestions for ad blockers to prevent this?

Hey, first time poster here. Found this subreddit a little bit ago and I’d post the next time I wound myself into a spiral.

So, I have the skin picking disorder, and have for a while. 18 your old male. Also have anxiety and my therapist has said I’m probably a bit neurodivergent.

Currently I’ve been relapsing a bit. I never really stopped, which I’m not proud of, but it’s just been getting worse. And lately I’ve taken to the totally not bad habit of googling symptoms in periods of “oh god what’s wrong” mania whenever I feel weird, which inevitably led me to being terrified of sepsis, making me feel worse whenever I realize how much I’m picking. Doesn’t help that I just got sick and feel like shit, which is setting off all of my mental alarms.

I primarily pick my fingers, usually the right hand, as well as my right arm, and have some lasting scars. I’ve also occasionally picked at my foot, so the skin on one of my big toes is a bit thin and still in the process of healing.

I feel like I should look into medication, or at least a more specialized therapist. Haven’t talked to mine about it yet, but I’m going to the next time we meet.

Maybe someone learns MCU style sorcery and gets dropped in DC, someone in Brockton Bay triggers as a wizard, etc.

Bonus points if they’re parsing it out themselves, not just copying instructions but building their spells on their own.

A self taught sorcerer in Marvel, SI or not, would be a good example. Lots of fun spells there.

Hello! I'm going to try applying to a bunch of co-ops, hopefully getting into one for my third year in 2027-28, and I was wondering if anyone had any advice?

Are there any website with good listings? Any companies that you liked co-oping for? Any companies that you hated co-oping for? Any dos or don'ts? How helpful are the Career Connections center and Career Fairs? Interview tips?

I'm a CS (College of Engineering) major, and I'm probably going to do a minor in something along the lines of Business or Finance.

I’m trying to look at something on Imgchest on my phone via Safari, and lately every minute — literally, I swear it’s on the dot — it’s redirecting me to some ad.

Is there any way to stop it? Most of the tips I found look like they’re for computer.

Any fics where the protagonist has one power or artifact of a set?

Things like one Chaos Emerald, one Infinity Stone, one piece of the Triforce, that sort of thing.

Preferably they never acquire the rest beyond maybe a temporary crisis, though it’s ok if they get other artifacts or powers, they just can’t be a part of the set.

Bonus points if they’re in the wrong setting, like giving an Infinity Stone to someone in DC.

I forgot the title, but I believe it was War For Cybertron? One of the scenarios was based around helping Vector Prime, and one of the perks was a multiverse travelling ability with different levels including the ability to retroactively insert yourself into whatever world you visit. There were perk trees for different sizes of such as standard and go-bots, for Autobots, Decepticons, and for 5 different planets. There was also a customization section for your transformation, and another one for customizing a spaceship.

With lab grown diamonds being a thing, are there any types of gemstones that are only found in labs? If so, what are some examples? Do they have names beyond serial numbers?

I’ve been craving multicrosses lately and wanted to see if there were any unique ones, so what do you guys have? I’ve read a couple Projection Quest fics, Commander fics, Planeswalker fics, and Jumpchain fics, and I think they’re pretty neat but the same concept repeated can get stale even if the settings are changed.

Like, maybe the protagonist is one mind housed in multiple different versions of their life just in different settings, maybe they have the powers of Angstrom Levi or The Access, maybe a pocket dimension is picking up random items and inhabitants from various settings, maybe someone just keeps getting isekaid over and over, maybe someone does a Commander fic but swamps being a PA Commander with being a WH40k Tyranid so steals biology instead of tech, etc?

For a little while now, I’ve occasionally been redirected from whatever site I’m trying to go to, instead being shown a fake McAfee virus scan that says I have viruses and to download McAfee.

I never pressed the download or anything, but it still occasionally happens and it’s getting annoying having to backtrack to get to the website I wanted. Any way to fix it? Do I just need to clear my cache?

Had an idle thought and thought I’d share it.

In the Genocide Route, Frisk is mistaken for a monster several times. This is probably just calling you a monster because of the, well, genocide, but it’s the name of their species, not holding the same negative connotations for them as it might for us, so why might they be confused?

What if monsters have a form of soul sense? It would make sense to a degree, and they may not notice it, but they could feel powerful souls nearby. As a human, who have souls drastically more powerful than the average monster, you’d light up like a Christmas tree to this sense.

But they’ve been underground so long that they can’t differentiate, like trying to explain what an elevator is to someone who doesn’t know there’s more than one story. They don’t know looking different to this sense means you’re human. But nonetheless, they’re drawn to you.

This could be the reason Frisk’s journey is so eventful, why we’re encountered randomly by various monsters; they are subconsciously drawn to the human soul.

Now then, why might this sense be confused in genocide? After all, our soul is just as powerful as before. All that changes is LV.

And what is LV? Distancing yourself from the world, making it easier to hurt and harder to be hurt. I’m going to draw your attention to ‘distancing’ though.

What if this ‘distance’ makes your soul seem fainter to the monsters’ soul sense? You’re less connected to the world after all, so they may only register it up close, like a lantern still shining bright but covered in shutters that prevent the light from traveling far.

In conclusion, the reason why Frisk is confused for a monster more in the Genocide Route might be because LV makes it harder to for the monsters to sense their soul.

And to reiterate, this is idle speculation at best, I have very little evidence and just thought this would be interesting to share.
