How did you know if it was the right person for you?
I know everyone will have different answers.
For the women here who have a successful romantic relationship or had them in the past, how did you understand that they were your person?

For those of you who studied mathematics or are studying it, can you tell me what is important to know before starting and what career options there are or which job you have or wish to have? Did you do a master afterwards? Are there other relevant skills/qualifications in other fields that helped you getting your job or can help?

I have always disliked when people told me what to do, though in work settings I developed coping mechanisms as telling myself that I'm only following the instructions because it is necessary and if it were a private setting, I wouldn't do anything they demand, so I try to separate the me that is at work from the me that is at home, if that makes sense.
I burned out and stopped working for a while and since two years I'm trying to study something new but here is the problem: As soon as someone makes a negative comment about what I'm studying and how it doesn't suit me and bs like this, I lose all interest and drive to learn and until now I changed 4 majors. Should I just not tell the people close to me or that I know what I'm going to study next? Is this pda, can someone relate?
I need to know and understand what it is because I really want to finish what I will start studying. I feel like I'm in some kind of loop.
I'm ready to start any course or study to gain the certifications needed if such a job exists: Work alone, as little as possible human interaction, pays well and it is not a job that is heavily influenced by AI. Any idea or experiences?
You lovely people who are in a relationship, how long have you been together?
How did you meet? How did you know "they are my person"?
Is it something you know immediately, kind of like an instinct or you know after some time has passed?
I always wanted to learn better, but private lessons cost a lot of money and even if I want to go to a private to practice, it costs a lot of money also.
There are two "problems" though. I'm an immigrant (though naturalized and speak Swiss German although not perfectly and with an accent) and a woman. Now I don't know if there are any women there, but it would be depressing for me if there were none because I woud feel uncomfortable. I looked but there are no Schützenverein that are only composed of women.
I have nothing against men, but even when I went to a private, I always had to hear veiled sexist comments, and honestly I'm going to have fun, not to deal with an old man that lives in the Middle Ages.
Does someone have experience or is part of one? Are foreigners welcome or not? Are women discriminated?
I need to know because if I go, I go to feel better about life, not to feel worse.
I'm not a bro and I'm not a dude, so why not call me sis? It is like if you call be bro it is cooler but guess what? It's just annoying. I'm starting to call men 'sis' now. It's just so stupid because I'm not a man, I'm not a bro and I don't find it cool. For me it is just another patriarchal thing, as saying being a dude is considered cool and being a woman not. Seriously annoying every time I hear someone say it to a woman.
I'm in my late 20s and never in my life did I have a friend of the opposite gender. For those who had the experience, is friendship between different genders possible and helpful in navigating the differences?
For those who have experienced it, how did you form the friendship and does it really always end in romantic interest or can a friendship remain a friendship? Feel free to give examples.
I will start with the Passerelle course in August. Does someone have some advice? Like things that I could prepare before I begin or other advice you would have found helpful to know before you began?
I'm trying to adjust my diet, eating at least 30 g of protein at every meal, drinking two cups of spearmint tea every day, reducing my carbs intake and only eat whole grain bread/pasta and sourdough bread with veggies.
I feel full after such a meal but sometimes I crave some chips. For the sweets I found a solution, I mix soy milk with low-fat quark, chia seeds, and let it overnight in the fridge (kind of like a pudding) and then add a spoon of jam Bon Maman Intense. Or I eat a low-fat quark with two Biscoff biscuits (the famous quick cheesecake).
But I'm going crazy in finding salty snacks. I don't like kale chips and would like something I can buy and don't have to prepare, but you can also share recipes if you have some.
Do you know of some snacks I can buy at Migros/Coop etc. that I can eat almost everyday without repercussions?
Tomorrow is my friend's birthday. I don't have a lot of money at the moment, so I can't really buy her something. We're both in our late twenties and I have at home some eye cream (still in the original package) that I bought in bulks from londonbotanicallaboratories. Is it rude to give an eye cream as a present? I don't want that she thinks that I'm hinting at something, when I'm not.
I'm curious to know if you would ever date someone with the intention of creating a life together with someone who went through that. I will not judge any answer, I know it is individual and I would like to know, if yes, why? If no, why?
I live in Switzerland for almost 15 years. I learned Swiss German (of course it is not perfect and with an accent). It happens often that I speak Swiss German and people will answer to me in German. It is so depressing. A lot of people speak with me in Swiss German and they have no problem understanding me. Why does this happen? I just want to hear everyone's point of view: From those who maybe have the same experience and from those who switch between languages.
I'm 27 and I was molested by my cousin when I was 13 (he was 17) and by my uncle when I was 15 (he was 25). The things is, I didn't think at the time that they molested me, I didn't understand much. As time went by, I understood how wrong it was what they did. I had a very difficult time during my teens. I rejected being a woman, now I feel comfortable being one but it took so much time to get here. I was never in a relationship. There was one time when I was really interested in someone and they seemed to like me also or at least they seemed interested but I went away as it scared me the prospect of a relationship. I tried to start as a student working in the IT but after a year I had to go away as I was uncomfortable in a place with so many men even if they were truly nice people. I don't know what to do. I'm angry at myself for alowing them to influence me after so many years. I feel like they went on with their lives and I remained in one place. I don't think about it everyday, but when I do I feel so much sadness for myself. Does someone else relate? Did someone overcome this fear of trusting someone? It is difficult since I was young and it was family, I don't know how to overcome it, truly. My life is good now but this heavy feeling won't go away....
The job market is not really stable at the moment and I wanted to gather some insights from people that have experience in this field. Is there a high demand? Do people in this field work mostly alone or are there a lot of meetings?
