Just impossible for my investment or this boss just ridiculously HP inflated?

To think this boss is the shill for this team
Flins C1 with R1 Staff of Homa
Columbina C0 with Prototype Amber
Ineffa C0 with R1 Staff of Homa
Sucrose C6 with TTDS or Fav

I have not cleared 3 dires in one Stygian since the 1st iteration.

Edit: Guys I did it thanks to your tips.
Put Columbina on Serenade and R5 Sac Jade. Image in comment section.
Managed to get Flins to below 50% HP for Homa. Couldn't do it for Ineffa though.

Appreciating Shadows even more after hopping back to Odyssey

Returned to AC Odyssey to do some remaining quests after 2 years since last playing it. Shadows' gameplay is really a huge step up and playing the other game instead of just trying to remember when you played it makes you see it clearer, obviously.

I've always thought Shadows to have the best combat system in AC since I played it on release, and now that I returned to play Shadows 3 weeks ago, playing more 30+ hrs to do the DLC and other stuff.

Now I've reinstalled Odyssey because of the current Odyssey trend and damn, I didn't think I would feel so disappointed in Odyssey's combat, even if I liked it before.

When I first played Shadows, my first thought about the abilities was it was too limiting. Compared to Valhalla, and even more compared to Odyssey with 8 ability slots. Shadows only has 3.

But now going back to Odyssey, despite the ability slots giving a lot of combinations and arsenal for combat, I realize that it is really mostly abilities based combat. The melee fighting is basic. Flashy with the abilities, but basic with the light and heavy attacks. This makes me appreciate even more on how Shadows adapted this combat from other melee focused games like Sekiro and Ghost of Tsushima where there are attacks and flurries for you to parry. And their system of light, heavy and posture versions of these, where you can put them in a combo mix and matching really does give depth and makes it less boring. Sekiro while I really love it, are mostly light attacks on repeat, with only one combat art you can equip, and 3 tools. I suppose Naoe does lack in the tool variability department.

Stealth is a no brainer Shadows win. Still the best stealth in the series, but could be elevated with black box missions.

Lastly the movement and parkour. After a long time I returned to an AC game without a manual jump button. It feels really frustrating. This was Mirage and Shadows at launch. Thankfully we complained too much for them to bring manual jumping back. Then for the running, it feels so slow. Sometimes I forget that Naoe actually runs faster than other protagonists in the series.

I must have written something similar in a previous post, but I pray Ubisoft does not do that stupid just of downgrading stuff they have already made good. It's stupid that the players will have to beg them to bring back manual jumps, height gaining back and side ejects, fast forward time, the mocaps, the Animus corridor cutscenes after assassination of main targets, the Assassins and Templars conflict. I just don't understand why they can't make a game with the best features they have already developed before, at launch.

So please AC Hexe. Be great.

How many of you have used the Bo extensively?

I haven't used this outside of a quest that teaches you about it.

I know it allows you to other combat and assassination stuff like chain assassination that's missing from other weapons. It probably has great damage if you build right. But hitting people with a stick doesn't feel as satisfying as using bladed weapons.

It's a big reason I skipped playing Black Myth Wukong because I don't think I can keep playing a game bonking people with a staff.

Going back to Shadows reassured my decision to skip ACBFR for now, as someone who played it before

I skipped getting AC Black Flag Resynced at launch, even if I was so hyped upon announcement, and when I learned that the keys from Shadows can be used there, I ended up reinstalling Shadows, and finally finished the Awaji DLC and Black Tides. In the past 2 weeks, I ended up playing more than 25 hours, which is probably a similar time it would have taken to do most of the main stuff in Black Flag.

But now that I've played with Shadows again and actually went for builds for combat, I enjoyed it more than my first 64 hours in the game where I didn't do any working builds and just fought my way with not much attention to the RPG building stuff.

In the past 2 weeks though, I have watched a lot of ACBFR gameplay and while I was hyped at first, I realize now that I made the right choice for me to skip.

Unlike most AC players, I dislike the simplistic combat of the pre RPG games. Too easy. And Resynced looks like just a bit of upgrade on Mirage's combat.

I know I might get bored of it so easily having played Shadows again, a game in the series which I feel has the best combat system. There's so many weapon types to choose from and a deeper system of fighting by mixing light, heavy, posture attacks, parries, deflects, vaulting, abilities, afflictions, tools. (Though I have to be honest that I wish Naoe and Yasuke where just one protagonist who has access to both their kits.)

Shadows has the best stealth and combat for me. And I don't believe replaying a game I've played twice before can justify buying it again even if it has a better story (since I already experienced it before).

Now I have this dread that since Ubisoft sees that most of the players prefer the non RPG games, that AC Hexe will be more closer to Black Flag Resynced. Just 2 perks from trinkets. You can't even make legit builds because of staying away from RPG. But Shadows opens a lot for creativity by letting us mix builds because you have slots for 10 different engraving passives.

This is like when people saw the downgrade of parkour in Origins to Valhalla. But this time the combat is the one that might be gutted. They say it's Assassin's Creed, not Warrior's Creed, but why not have both a great stealth and combat system with each other?

I wonder what Ubisoft is gonna do with Hexe. I'm confident about the environment, the parkour, the stealth because they have proven these are things they can fix and are very aware that needs high quality. Sucks that Japan didn't allow for that parkour environment of Baghdad.

Still I'm hopeful for the story and mocap because they are aware of the complaints about it and Hexe has been in production for a longer time when those complaints have surfaced. I am hopeful Ubisoft has already learnes their lesson from the successive flops of 2023-2025 and they can't afford another one. Thankfully Resynced did well.

Praying that the next AC game will be awesome.

Is the parry system at Expert really that tight of a window?

I'm at the Yukari boss fight right now and I try my best to parry her attacks but I miss every time. I know it's kinda late to be asking at this point in the game.

I've only tried to fight her 4 times and got her to 2nd phase with 1/4 left for her HP as my best attempt. Will try again tomorrow but I would like to know when do you really press the button for the parry? I mostly chipped at her health through waiting out flurries and sneaking in attacks. But I would like to have a more head on fight.

For reference I have played Sekiro for 70+ hours, bell demon and charmless for my 4th run. So it's not like I'm new to parry stuff.

Help with build of Yasuke for someone who's not much into builds

So I'm at the Tomeji fight, captains all taken care of.
But I do next to no damage.
My current build is too focused on Adrenaline but I have little damage for Abilities and Melee. Admittingly I haven't explored much to get armors and weapons.

I will look for them if I can get an idea of what to look for so suggestions would really help.

I prefer the playstyle of head to head combat, parrying and dodging. So I would like to have damage from melee. I suppose I put too much perks on HP and regen so I'm not doing damage. I play on Expert difficulty for combat.

Here's my current setup.

Early 30s, still haven't lost it, but wondering if a certain "incident" counts

So here I am, my group of friends already married, while I've never had a girlfriend, never kissed someone on the lips, never touched a girl, never asked someone out. I have to admit I wanna experience it just so I can know whether it's actually as hype as they say. And I have pent up energy and thoughts for it.

It's just I really am turned off by the idea of the effort it takes to be in a relationship. I'm too lazy for it. And so I don't put effort into looking good or trying to attract anyone. It makes me fear any day, an accident or someone crazy could rob me of that opportunity to experience it at least once. And it feels so pathetic to have not had it at least once.

Which brings me to a question to myself, if I had actually lost it 2 decades ago. I don't know if it's okay to share this in this sub, so take this down if not okay.

I was a just a clueless boy, with another boy who taught me things. Don't worry, same age.

I had no full understanding of what gay was in that time. I only thought it was men who wanted to be women, turns out that's a different thing.

So with this other boy, he taught me the basic stuff about playing with, touched each other. But he then said he heard that if you put that thing in that thing, it would feel good.

What happened? We kinda tried it. He on me, and it touched but it didn't go in. He even spat on it. I tried on him, didn't go in. I was thinking it was because it was still too s***l.

So nothing went fully in. And no one did the actual rocking. I had no idea what we were trying to do was s*x.

So did I lose my v-card then?

I'm actually not considering to have lost it because we didn't do it to at least being in.

So I'm still filled with frustration that I haven't done it yet, fully.

Question about side quests, are there any worth doing? Or like a stand-out I can do?

I've once again reinstalled AC Shadows in the hopes of completing the Awaji questline. I've installed and reinstalled this game for like more than 5 times already. So far 64 hours played.

But with all these AC Black Flag videos going around and me not wanting to day one buy a game I already playes twice before, I need to shift my attention to games I have that are unfinished.

I would just like to ask, say I get done with Awaji tomorrow, there are still some targets and groups that I haven't dealt with. There are students I haven't dueled with. And among the close characters to Naoe, I have not done quests of most of them. So I still have stuff to do.

But are these even good? Like do you feel or learn anything worthwile after these side quests?

Are there hidden side quests like those you have in AC Odyssey which give a mini arc. Say, Supideo? The child with the clay friend?

And there are many parts of the map I've not went to because they were not part of the main quest. Are there any good side quests there with actual story?

Anyone here still on the fence about getting the game on release? I wanna hear your thoughts.

The marketing for the game has ramped up in the past weeks and every day I see one.

I've already played this game twice before. I've also played Rogue twice before.

I feel like someone who just feels the itch to play the resynced to test the new graphics and system, but will probably feel unmotivated to play after 5 hours because I've done this in the game before.

Game is expensive to get on release, and Ubisoft is quick to give discounts by November or December.

If anything, I think it's best you deinfluence me from getting this game on a whim. I have the money to buy it. And extra. But I'm not that well of to not consider waiting for a sale.

How likely are people here to read a fanfic of Hirose's POV for the 1st season storyline?

I used to write fanfics, not that I can say they're good or anything. I read short POVs of Hirose from a post in this sub and I wondered what if they were longer.

For that, one has to think about the entire season and have to decide Hirose's feelings for each chapter in advance to determine when they'll put certain thoughts and realizations he might get with his interactions with Nakamura.

If I had time this seems like an interesting thing to imagine and write about since we have no Season 2, at least anything official.

Or has someone already made a fanfic like this or is currently working on it? Would probably just read that.

Japanese fans are also asking for Season 2

I was listening to the podcast and reading the comments. Many said they cried with episode 12 and I saw some comments that cried for episode 13 too. Some comments want to see their 2nd year for a season 2. Someone even suggested to have it as a movie. A comment even said they'll wait a lifetime for the next season.

We all want season 2.

Btw, I heard Hirose's seiyuu call Nakamura's seiyuu as a genius. I wonder if this was about episode 12.

3 hours to go, help me decide whether to get him or not

I have around 100 pulls at 40 pity guaranteed.

But I am saving for the Fate collab in case it needs 200 pulls for the free light cone (we don't know yet). If I use 35 pulls now, I can get Blade, but I'll be left with only 65 pulls, and I don't know if I can reach 200 by the time Fate collab part 2 end.

I don't have Ashveil. I have Acheron. Or just look at my roster. Is E0 MBlade functional?

I'm just thankful this community exists because I don't have any in real life friends to talk with about it

I love that this community is very active. It's my first time to go through an anime series and be in a community to talk about it every week. See people's posts, their theories, their views, and especially their love for the series.

But I just wish I have an in real life friend I could casually talk with about BL and be as excited as I am.

I do have one friend that I do talk about BL with, but it's more of one-sided. He's watched some before but is not really a fan as I am.

I suppose this is just how it's gonna be for me. A bi male who's not fully out. There's like more than 20 people who knows I bi, even my parents and sister. But among those I do not have one friend who's really into BL.

It's only her in Reddit I can talk about this anime. I see a lot of posts about it in my FB timeline from Ganbare Nakamura pages, but I could never join them. I can't react. I can't comment. No matter how much I want to.

It's just so different when you have friends to talk about stuff you watch. I have friends I talk with about the other animes, but not one on an equal participation for BL.
