My decorated urban hiking backpack

Trying to take up urban hiking (week 4) and have now decided on a Jansport backpack for my urban hiking. Aslo found some small stuff to decorate it with. What do you think?

The back does not have organisation, but it help with keeping it leight weight for long (9-35K) walks.

I will carry a 0.5 soda bottle for water, extra cloth (light jacket for summer. wintertime: gloves, beanie etc.), low weight sketchbook and pen for drawing. So at least so far it is fine with no organisation in the backpack

Stabilo Greenpoint 88

This night I finished my Stabilo Greenpoint 88 I was given in July 2025. I can recommend it.
It is not a brush pen, but it is still easy to make lines in different widths for more fun writing and drawing.

I had seen this Stabilo in shops, but did not like how it looked, so I had not picked it up. But when I was gifted it, I had to try it. And now I want more.

So: Do not (solely) judge a pen by its appearance.

I just finsihed a sketchbook and pen

Just sharing the joy I have of finishing a sketchbook and a pen the same night.

Not at all a fan of the unmarked sketchbook. I tried a lot of different pens in it and did not like any of them.

But I really enjoyed using this Stabilo Greenpoint 88. I got it in July 2025. It is not a brush, but I can make lines in different widths with it. So I am going to get more of these.

How many pencils do you use?

I feel like I keep drawing and drawing, and I do empty my sharpenings often, but it does not look like I use that many pencils. They keep on lasting.

I love pencils and am always looking for more. But I don't even think I use 2 wooden pencils per month.

How many pencils do you use?

New Parker Jotter and clutch pencil

While I was walking I came across a new shop with stationery and art supplies and of course had to take a look.

I did not need anything they had, but it is a lovely shop and since I am obsessed with Parker Jotters and clutch pencils I had to get one of each

Pen and pencil stand

I made a pen stand of a leftover piece of wood.

The holes are 8, 10 and 12 mm

>My first woodworking in 35-38 years. So I had help to turn on machines and ventilation.

Sorry I can't be more specific, I simply don't know the terms or names of machines. But I am proud of myself and I like the result.I made a pen stand of a leftover piece of wood. The holes are 8, 10 and 12 mmMy first woodworking in 35-38 years. Swiss colour fixpencil

I like my Caran d'Ache ball pen in Swiss colour and I like a good match. Is there a Fixpencil in the same pattern?

I don't like the Bic Criterium

Today I realy tryed using a BiC Criterium for drawing the fist time and found out: I don't like it at all.

The grip is horrible. Not sure how I feel about the balance becuse the grip is so bad, it can't focus on much else. End the clip is also not doing it for me.

I still remember when I got this lead holder and posted I had made this great set - now everything has fallen apart.

https://www.reddit.com/r/leadholders/comments/1oefbv8/new_criterium_and_sketch_book/

Don't like the paper.
The loop can't hold the BiC lead holder.
And I don't like the lead holder.

Do not call me an expert on these things!

Oh! And the Pink Pearl does not eraser the lead!

Paper Mate Pink Pearl first use

Some time ago I got a Pink Pearl eraser from Paper Mate, having never used one before just seen them in stores sold in big packs.

Today I used the Paper Mate Pink Pearl for the very first time. And it is horrible!

I only tryed to use it for pencil graphite, but it just can't eraser that.

Is it good for color pencils or...?

Why is it always Parker Jotter. Not Parker IM and Parker Vector?

Why do we all love Parker Jotters so much? Why not Parker IM or Parker Vector?

I have a lot of Parker Jotters myself; but I also have a single Parker Vector and a couple of Parker IMs. But it's always Parker Jotters that excite me and one of the those I use

Faber-Castell Grip Plus mechanical pencil

Monday I got this Faber-Castell Grip Plus 0.5 mechanical pencil monday just to test if I like it.

I am not a fan of the Grip line from Faber-Castell on wooden pencils, fountain pens etc. but I have drawn 4-6 sketches with this pencil and the grip is - so far - okay with me. But I think I will love it even more for writing than drawing.

How do you feel about the Rotring 300?

Many mechanical pencil enthusiasts love the Rotring pencils, mostly 600 and 800. But how do you feel about the Rotring 300 lead holder?

I have a few because when I had come across them in shops I get exited and have to have one. But I can't recall I have ever used a pencil after I got home from a shop.

I have used them walking from the shop, taking a small break, drawing at a restaurant, park etc. maybe even in a hotel room. But never at home, where I have lead holders from other brands.

And it came to the end | Bic Cristal

It is a lovely feeling to finish a Bic Cristal ball pen. It did its job to the full... or well...

Most of the pen use was just fine with all the ink retracting to the ball for use, but then a bit of ink got stuck on the side of the pen - and then more and more. Why?

Why does the ink "suddenly" get stuck to the inside of the ink tube when it was flowing down so fine for more than 2/3 of the pen's use?
