If you're an experienced Amiga C programmer, please provide your opinion on the legitimacy of this new book: "Programming the Commodore Amiga in C".

Amazon provides several dozen sample pages for reading:

https://read.amazon.com/sample/B0HCXNVPHD?clientId=share

I've never heard of the author Daniel Herby before; it might be a pseudonym. The book's cover is clearly A.I.-generated, as the Amiga keyboard isn't accurate. The table of contents is sloppy - there are no page numbers listed; only chapter sections are shown.

Notwithstanding those oddities, how valid is the actual content based on those sample pages? In your estimation, does this book look like it'll actually teach someone to program the Amiga in the C language?

This author has released several books in the last little while, making me suspicious about the quality of content:

Jun. 21, 2026 - Programming the Neo Geo AES in C.

Aug. 4, 2026 - Programming the Commodore Amiga in C.

Aug. 6, 2026 - Programming the Game Boy in C.

If you saw Supergirl (2026) more than once in the theatres, how many times and in which formats?

It's been one month since the film's June 26, 2026 opening in the theatres. I've seen the movie several times and I'm definitely going to watch it many more times when it hits digital in a couple of days (July 28).

In total, I've watched the movie four times at the cinemas, and these were the formats:

- Standard IMAX.

- IMAX with Laser Projection.

- UltraAVX with D-BOX.

- Standard 3D.

Of the four, I least enjoyed the 3D presentation. Most of the film is already so dark, so having to wear 3D glasses just darkened things even further. From what I've read, a good theatre would brighten the film projection to compensate for the darkening caused by the 3D glasses, but that didn't seem to happen at the theatre I went to.

I didn't notice any difference between standard IMAX and laser-projected IMAX. But then again, I couldn't compare them side-by-side at the same time, so maybe that's why.

The Ultra AVX + D-BOX (motion/vibration) viewing had me in a full-recliner seat, which was very comfortable. But my impression is that these full-recliner D-BOX seats provide less motion than the standard D-BOX seats. I personally prefer the greater motion of the standard D-BOX seats, which was one of my viewings for Superman (2025) last year.

I really wish I could've attended a ScreenX viewing (multi-screen panorama), but I didn't see any cinema listings for it during my month-long binge. If they did have ScreenX viewings in my city, it must've only been for the first few days, and then quickly pulled due to lack of ticket sales.

Question for you:

If you saw the film more than once in the theatres, how many times and in which formats?

METRO SIEGE - The 7th stretch goal has been reached... 4-player co-op !

Breaking news...

The seventh stretch goal has been reached, so the PC version will now have 4-player co-op.

Reminder: If you've backed any physical or digital edition of Metro Siege, you'll be getting this PC version via Steam or itch.io at no extra cost.

Late pledging is still available:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/metrosiege/metro-siege

Please back an Amiga edition, and thanks for joining the fight!

4-Player Co-op Mode - Coming to METRO SIEGE, the ultimate 16-bit style beat 'em up game!

A month ago, I posted about Metro Siege here in r/CoOpGaming. On July 4, 2026, the campaign ended successfully with full funding and six stretch goals achieved. The campaign organizer has since enabled late pledges, allowing you to back the game for a reward if you missed out on the first round.

Originally, Metro Siege was offering a 2-player co-op mode for all three supported platforms - PC, Neo Geo, and Amiga. But a seventh stretch goal has now been introduced. If reached, the PC version of the game will include 4-player simultaneous co-op gameplay. Incredibly, the campaign is around $1K away from reaching this seventh stretch goal. If you'd like to help reach this goal, here's the webpage to visit:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/metrosiege/metro-siege

Reminder:

Metro Siege isn't your typical mindless brawler. Among its deep gameplay features:

- Sophisticated combat mechanics, with evasive maneuvers, blocks, counter-attacks, and many ways to hit enemies while they're down!

- You can block weak attacks. Stronger attacks could knock you back and do partial damage.  Blocking the split second before an attack would hit you results in a parry and counter-attack, inflicting bonus damage on the enemy and rewarding you with a little health and special meter back.

- You can hit downed enemies by kicking them, knee-dropping on them, or throwing other enemies onto them.  Knee-drops do the most damage, but you risk hurting yourself if they roll out of the way before you land.

- Enemies are more skilled and use new combat styles as the game progresses, to increase the challenge and keep things interesting.

- The game is designed to avoid button-mash hypnosis.  The gameplay rewards engaged fast paced decision making.

Thanks for helping!

METRO SIEGE - Neo Geo fans rejoice... The campaign ended on July 4th, 2026 with full funding and the 6th stretch goal achieved. It's now open for late pledges with a new stretch goal!

Great news...

The campaign ended on July 4, 2026 with the game fully funded and the sixth stretch goal achieved, so the game will now include a fourth playable character to choose from.

The campaign organizer has enabled late pledges, allowing you to back the game for a reward if you missed out on the first round. It's not too late to join the party!

A seventh stretch goal has been introduced. If reached, the PC version of the game will allow 4 player simultaneous co-op gameplay! If you're backing a Neo Geo physical cartridge, you'll be given a digital copy of that PC version for free, along with free digital copies of the Neo Geo and Amiga versions.

If backing a Neo Geo cartridge isn't possible for you due to cost reasons, I recommend backing the Digital Edition, the Digital Collector's Edition, or the Digital Ultimate Collection. Those editions all come with digital copies of the Neo Geo, PC, and Amiga versions - giving you a 3-for-1 value.

Pledge here:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/metrosiege/metro-siege

Question for you:

The campaign is already just $1K away from reaching that seventh stretch goal. If BitBeamCannon were to introduce an eighth stretch goal, shouldn't it be something that directly benefits Neo Geo gamers? What new feature for the Neo Geo version would you like to see as an eighth stretch goal?
