I noticed this little fella yesterday in my 3 month old aquarium. No idea where he came from, probably from a plant, but I'd like to know what kind of snail this is :)
I started with only blue shrimp, but for some reason, a lot of the shrimplets are turning Austrian (the one without the Kangaroos).
Herbert has been a horny little bastard and kept my two crayfish ladies eggnant for several months straight. To give the ladies a bit of a respite, he has been moved to my second tank, where he is currently enjoying horny jail.
So far he has fathered over 30 children and has 0 regrets about it. I love him very dearly.
Annelise was also kind enough today to pose with her latest clutch of eggs.
I currently have a 250 liter fish tank set up that is home to 20 rummy-nose tetras, 10 Neocaridina and the future home for the offspring of my CPO crayfish.
I was wondering if I could add a group of 6-10 danio margaritatus (celestial pearl danio), as I really like their style. But I'm not sure if they will get along with my existing stock and if adding 10 more fish would overcrowd the tank.
There is a lot of conflicting information about this online, so I thought I'd ask if anyone has experience with that.
The tank itself is planted on the sides and the back, with a large open swimming area in the front. It also has many small caves for the crayfish and shrimp to hide in.
Water parameters are:
pH: 7.5
KH: 9
Ammonium: 0
Nitrites: 0
Nitrate: 5 mg/l
Temperature usually around 25 °C
Dont worry, Annelise has never attacked a shrimp, she just likes being the center of attention
Help please. Yesterday I got a group of 20 rummy nosed tetras. I drip aclinated them fro about 30 minutes before introducing them to the aquarium. The tank has been cycled for a month now and has lots of plants in them.
One of them seemed to always stay away from the group and like he was a slow swimmer. Today I found him upside down between some plants. He is still alive but breathing rapidly and heavily and I dont know why.
Tank is 250 liters.
pH 7.5
KH: 10°
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 5mg/l
Temperature is about 25°C
The others seem to be doing fine for now but I'm scared something maybe is going on. Is there anything I can do to help the little guy?
For now I have moved him to a smaller container filled with tank water so I can keep an eye on him.
Edit: It looks like the upper part of his tail fin is missing.
Dropped my algae scrubber by accident and the shrimp immediately swarmed it. It reminded me of the beginning of 2001. So I just had to draw it :D

Annelise has been eggnant for the better part of 4 weeks and today the little ones started showing up inside the tank.

I planed to move them to a second tank but its not even close to being done cycling
