Feeling "Stuck" at Our Current Place for the Rate

I've been living at my current spot in Little Village/Pilsen since 2020 and it started at $1200 for a newly rennovated 2Bed/1Bath WITH IN UNIT, A Dishwasher, and HIGH CEILINGS(I'm 6' 1" and if I fully extend my arms, theres still like 2-3ft of clearance). Since moving in the rent has only JUST hit $1300. So my partner and I are paying only $650 a month living in our place.

Its a decent neighborhood but of course theres the standard things for living in an area like that like the shitty parking situation, occasional "rent stabilizing" gunshots in the distance(sometimes a bit too close to my place), maybe a tad bit of gang-affliated violence from the citizen app, but otherwise my spot is nice.

Recently my gf and I have been thinking of upgrading to a bigger place. Maybe a 2Bed/2bath or 3bed/1bath, but looking into upgrading has us demotivated each time because of the cost of living all over the city being so high EVERYWHERE.

Any tips on finding something else??

Rolled Credits. Wish it was Better 4/10

It was so mid. Silent protag, support characters you cant bother to care about, they try to flesh out the lore of Aincrad but its so boring I could care less. You only end up on like, the 2nd or 3rd floor. The main anime cast kinda act as supporting roles in the first half of the game but meh.

Seeing the beginning where everyones faces get revealed was neat since I also had my character revealed that way, but after that you and your crew end up involved in your own questline that doesnt even get fully resolved by credits like wtf

Chicago’s Legendary Pokémon

Tornados, high winds, flooding and the works bro. I’m convinced Pokemon are real and they live over Chicago. We’ve had too many events from the franchise in one summer and they’ve spawned

GF has Learned the Ways of Dandori

Ive been trying to get my GF(31) into Pikmin for years now and she finally jumped in and shes been feverishly playing it for the last two weeks. Mind you I rolled credits on Pikmin 4 years ago and I’ve been a fan of the franchise since Pikmin 1 and 2 got ported to Wii back in the day, so it was so exciting for her to experience the series and the panic and loss that comes from running into a new boss creature for the first time lol Her screams of terror have been hilarious.

Anyway, since shes logged well over 15/20 hours into the game so far. I decided to challenge her to a Dandori battle. I decided to go easy on her since shes still kinda new, but she MOPPED ME BRO lmaoooo The score was 153-116 (she be playin hella aggressive)
She made me bust out the gamer lean it got so heated. I’m glad shes finally a captain like the rest of us.

Are there any Cannabis Friendly Lounges/Bars?

I recall hearing about some but theyre few and far between AND also in Southern Illinois from what I recall, but are there any places that you all have been to that people smoke weed in recreationally and its basically allowed?

Perfect Game for Switch 2 tbh

The base controls mapping perfectly to a joy-con on its side, so its like the device is BUILT for duos! Plus, if Street Fighter 6 and Avatar can run on the thing, I couldnt see any issues with 2XKO. Honestly I think it should be a matter of time. I'm hoping that it happens at least within the game's second year. I'd love to just be able to bust out a set while out and about with my switch 2

Pre-Orders are More Important Now Than EVER tbh(preservation not sales)

Seriously guys, PlayStation aint gonna run back this whole "no more discs after January 2028" thing, so if you have even the SLIGHTEST THOUGHT that you want a game physically, ESPECIALLY if its hella niche(jrpg, indie getting a physical, random third-party title/liscened game, etc) you 100% should drop $5 on it and get that disc.

Who knows where we're gonna be with gaming in the next 3-4 years so gather those physical titles as you can. THIS GOES DOUBLE FOR XBOX SERIES X PLAYERS YOU GUYS DAMN NEAR DONT GET GAMES UNLESS THEYRE PRE-ORDERED AT ALL

Went to the Library for the First Time in a LONG TIME

I recently got a new job that has a decent amount of downtime during slower days, so Ive been reading through comics and graphic novels I own. Its been about a month and I’m running out of stuff at home, so to save myself money from going to Comic Book shops I re-discovered the library.

Also, I didnt know you could check out the baskets!!
I almost panicked when I got to the counter and realized I didnt have anything big enough to take the books home with and they were like “yeah we can scan that out too, just bring it back please lol

Got a New Job, But it Feels Like I’m Doing Something Wrong…

talking about jobs slips me into a slight-depression because its so FUCKING FRUSTRATING when it seems like the jobs that I enjoy/tolerate doing arent livable jobs

like wtf is up with that

why does it seem like I'm doing something wrong when I'm employed because theres always the looming reality that the job that I have doesnt pay enough.

Then insert parent going "you should find something that gives more hours, pays better, or go to school to get xyz to then get a job that pays xyz amount" and Im like BRO WTF DO YOU WANT FROM ME NOT EVERY FUCKING PERSON WANTS TO WORK IN TECH OR HAVE A TRADITIONAL TRADE OR do something just simply because it pays, but then retroactively makes you want to chuck yourself off a fucking bridge because your literally doing it to SURVIVE not LIVE

What’s REALLY annoying about feeling this way, is when theres so many other people who are doing the same thing, and enjoying it, and its like, so what?
Are we just disregarding the years of work people lock-in to specific career paths because it doesnt pay a livable wage?
Because it doesnt pay $22 an hour starting?
BROTHER DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO GET A JOB THAT PAYS OVER $20 STARTING NOWADAYS

Easy $100 from me if they add these skins

TRUE DAMAGE & KDA skins would go CRAZY if they put them into 2XKO! I NEED them. I havent spent any money and I dont plan on it, but if these skins get in the game they can just take whatever they want😤😤
Mainly want the Senna TD skin and both of Akali’s skins

I Wanna Live Out of the U.S. for at LEAST 5 Years before I Die

I've thought about this since I was at least 25, but I want to move and live out of the United States for at least 5 years MINIMUM before I pass away. I seriously refuse to live on this planet and not experience where the grass is greener (allegedly) for just a little bit. Has anyone else did this and how did it work out for you?

(Hopium) Riot Should Eventually Makes a Physical Version at SOME POINT

In modern gaming, I know its dumb as hell to even fathom the concept of a game-as-a-service ever getting a physical edition at some point down the road, but personally I'm sick and tired of great games dying at some point in the future because of SOME REASON and at this point with how much fun I'm having with 2XKO and how supported this game appears to be, it would be a damn shame and a waste if it never gets a physical release and drops off the face of the earth.

Now, obviously this is Riot were talking about, so it'll never happen, but since this specifically is a FIGHTING GAME, I think that it would be worth their while to at SOME POINT make a physical release that locks all the content up to that point on a disc, game card, or just a straight up Steam download.

What about you guys? If in like, 2 years Riot said "We're gonna drop a version of the game with all characters, skins, and stages up to this point on a physical release for $80 would you buy it?

How I Wrapped My Brain Around Flow

I never touched Avatar Legends until I got it yesterday and I already knew that flow system was gonna trip me up just by watching gameplay trailers. The whole "This button is tied to bending but also is an auto dodge button" was so bizarre at first, but then as someone who plays other fighting games I realized.....its the SF6 parry button, but it has a meter.

After I figured that out and then the directional flow inputs it made things SO MUCH EASIER. But yeah, think of flow as the unique attack button and also the parry button from SF6 tied together, but you cant just hold the button down forever like in SF6.

Low-Vis in Chinatown/Ping-Tom

Its insane how bad it is outside with this smoke. Not being even able to see the front of the city from PING TOM PARK AND CHINATOWN is CRAZY! If this is how bad it is for us, I’d hate to be actually in Canada or farther north. Everyone stay safe and make sure your prioritizing your health above all else!

Why Mention V if they arent standard?

I'm sure I'm over thinking this, but on the rulebox of this Shaymin from Destined Rivals, after the ability it says it applies to Pokemon ex and V. But theres no active V Pokemon in the standard format so does that mean theres a chance theyll come back or is that just as a formality if its used in expanded or something also

[YT Video] Me Ranting About my "Last Straw" Day at GameStop for 24 Minutes

If you're thinking, "Should I work at GameStop?" then you should just watch this and you'll get your answer. Cause those bad days can be BAD
I've already been out of the company for about a month now, but this is an edited VOD from my friend's stream when I popped in after a long and SUPER ANNOYING day at GameStop as an ASL and I was just venting and ranting for a WHILE talking about the dogshit day I had.

How did GENGAR get so popular but Nidorino/Nidoking didn't?

I've always thought about this. Ya know how the opening of Gen 1 has Gengar & Nidorino(M) having a battle? Gengar ended up being the main marketable pokemon to come outta that duo. Other than being a cool ghost, its just interesting to me how it ended up insanely surpassing Nidorino

As a regular customer this is SO annoying

Trying to get a game today and Im crunching some numbers and I realized I had $5 in points….that I cant use anymore. This is seriously some anti-consumer shit GameStop is doing bro. I used to actually consider the PRO membership to be one of the better rewards programs available, but they’ve nuked it to hell and they’re ACTIVELY making it worse week after week.

At the rate I’m shopping there, I wont be able to use a reward until mid-September 😒
What happened to POWER TO THE PLAYERS 😩

Penny or Random Sleeves for pulls?

Personally since I play the game, I have alot of opened product and spare sleeves from ETBs so I use those to sleeve when I get a cool pull. Do you prefer to use penny sleeves instead or does it matter?

I Dont Do Gummies Anymore. TEXTURE Inconsistancy

So I prefer edibles when I do cannabis. I'm not smoking up my place, its also an efficient way to dose how high I get, and I can monitor my tolerance. Anyway, does anyone else feel similarly about the GUMMIES variety of edibles? I've started distancing myself from them because of the major inconsistancies with textures and mouth-feel. Some will feel actually like a normal gummy that you'd buy from a snack aisle, but others will feel like they flavored moon sand, put it in a mold, and shipped it. The way that some "gummies" CRUMBLE in your mouth after the first chew UGH
and then so many have a strong weedy taste to them as well that lingers in your mouth UGH

Can anyone else relate? I moved on to chocolates and those are a MUCH better experience. I've also done popcorn, cereal bars, these waffle cone tips with chocolate in them, fruit chews that are like eating a now-and-later, or the hard candies, and also I'm starting to get used to drinkable shots.
Honestly, it seems like most other forms are better than GUMMIES, but unfortunately theyre the most common.
