Made a WTF value for my phone

I made an automation using iOS’s build in shortcuts, everyday at 1 am it generates a number between 1 and 14, if the number equals 7 my wallpaper changes to Something staring at me. Then another automation runs at 6 am and sets my wallpaper back to normal. Now hopefully every two weeks I will get jumpscared if I’m using my phone when I’m supposed to sleep. Pretty fun!

Omori manga is good… but it’s not a good manga. Here me out.

I bought and read the first volume today and I really enjoyed it, I was excepting it to be mid, but it really wasn’t, however I don’t think I would enjoy it at all if I didn’t play the game first. Omori fundamentally is a game and it is meant to be played. This is fun if you’re familiar with the source material, but I can’t imagine someone who never heard of Omori reading it and enjoying it, it’s just very unlikely. It’s simply not a good adaptation, because any adaptation would fail. That being said I don’t mind the new story order and the additions like >!Sunny covering Aubrey’s ears!< are fun. I know I read only the first 4 chapters and I hope the manga won’t derail itself into oblivion in later chapters, but we’ll see, it’s really fun so far. Just wanted to share my thoughts here, anyone else has a similar opinion about it?

I finished the game, what do I do now?

I got the good ending, the game is a 10/10, not flawless obviously, for example some areas in headspace drag for too long, but that doesn’t matter, what matters is the story. I love it so much, but it’s also so sad, I didn’t cry, but I can’t count the amount of times I teared up. What do I do now, how can I go and live my life after experiencing something like this help 😭

finished solstice for the first time today

After finishing the game like a week ago (>!I couldn’t bring myself to trap Niko in that world so I guess I got the "bad" ending!<) I decided to finally get the true ending today and wow, does the pain ever stop I want to see Niko again. It’s such a happy ending and yet I’m still sad😭

Listening to a New Album Every Day of August - Day 2 (Twin Fantasy)

It’s pretty good. Ngl I don’t remember most of the songs, I was like half asleep when I was listening to this, but I enjoyed it. It’s giving some Panchiko vibes.

8.3/10

Listening to a New Album Every Day of August - Day 1 (First Love)

It’s so good. I’m surprised I like it this much, it’s relatively simple and lite music, but it was so fun to listen to it that I decided to stop doing whatever I was doing at the moment and sit down just to listen, because it’s so peak.

9.6/10

How did shrooms affect your religiousness?

Do you believe more? Did you stop believing? Maybe you started believing and if so why? I’m interested in this aspect of psychedelics and I figured this is probably the best place to ask.

Recommend me albums for my listening challenge

Hi, I’m trying to listen to one music albums day this month and I’m looking for some recommendations, can be any genre, but I don’t really like any of the hard metal stuff, you can recommend some you think I might like. My taste isn’t really limited to any artist so feel free to recommend literally anything.

Why do people think they drowned? (pic slightly related)

I thought it was obvious they broke the game and went out of bounds and/or to the depths. It wouldn’t make any sense for them to drown considering we will play chapter 7 in the weird route.

My issue with A24 physical releases

I would love to get some Blu-rays. I love physical media, and owning movies I like is great, but there’s an issue. For some reason, A24 doesn’t include subtitles in languages other than English, and I don’t understand it. It’s not like they don’t have translations, because they do from the theatrical releases. The subtitle files are extremely lightweight, so it’s not a problem with disc storage capacity. It’s a Blu-ray, after all, so what’s the problem? I just don’t understand, and it’s sad because, yes, I can watch these movies in English, but at the same time, I should have the opportunity to watch them in my language the way I saw them in the cinema. Am I crazy for thinking they should just include them in the physical releases?

I don’t know if anyone pointed it out yet but this scene is a great proof/foreshadowing of player being the angel.

ELI5: Why can’t they just make more RAM?

There is a problem with RAM nowadays, it’s expensive, and because the AI industry is growing, there is a RAM shortage. Everyone is upset about it, so I’m wondering why can’t companies just make more RAM? Wouldn’t that make the most sense? If there’s demand and there definitely is why isn’t there enough supply?

[GUIDE] How to write a character going insane

Hello and welcome to Minecraft ARGs 101. This is your host, Mariush, and today I’ll teach you how to plan a character going insane for your own Minecraft ARGs.
Before I start, I want to say why I’m making this post. I’m not a very active person in this community, but I like Minecraft ARGs (ARGs in general), and I grew up with Minecraft creepypastas, etc. I noticed a lot of people here want to make their own ARGs, and the quality of them is… questionable. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not by any means an expert in this field, but I know a thing or two about writing, so I thought that by making this “series” of guides, I could possibly help some people turn their ideas into a real series. So without further ado, let’s get started.

What to avoid while writing an insane person?

There are a couple of things you should avoid writing. If you do end up writing some of the things below, the character might come off as “corny” or “cringe”, but these are only suggestions, so do what you think is right.

Screaming and random words.

Screaming and the use of random words don’t really work as an indication that something happened to a character. Sure, you will get your point across, but it will be very surface level. Try writing an actual monologue or dialogue instead, where the character talks about what they’re experiencing or how some experience affected them. This is where you should hint at madness and build the craziness from.

The character shouldn’t know they’re going insane.

If your character isn’t some Light Yagami, DerLord, or Sherlock Holmes type guy, but just a regular dude, they shouldn’t know they’re going insane. They shouldn’t have a mindset of “I think I’m going insane”, but rather “I’m the only one seeing the truth.”, “Everyone else is wrong.”, “I’m fine, just tired.”, or “I can stop anytime.”

If your character is some Light Yagami, DerLord, or Sherlock Holmes type guy, then things can get complicated. They should observe their unusual thoughts and behavior, but you have to balance it out with them slowly losing their full genius. These characters aren’t easy to pull off, so if you don’t have a solid idea, you should just write a regular dude.

Don’t make it instant.

A character going instantly insane, King in Yellow style, is intimidating, but if your whole ARG is based on a character going insane, you really shouldn’t do that. Instead, make it a long process. It doesn’t have to be that long, but give it some time. They should start feeling stressed or disoriented. After that, they could be in denial, then they could get obsessed. I won’t give you stages of going insane, because every character is different and should have a different progression.

Don’t remove their original personality.

It may be hard, but try not to change their personality too much. I get it, I get it, you want them to really feel crazy, but if being insane is their only character trait, then the character is boring. Their flaws should evolve from their existing traits: someone caring becomes controlling, someone intelligent becomes obsessive, etc. You obviously can change their character in some way, but the change should come from something else and not from them going insane.

Avoid making every moment dramatic.

The scariest moments are often subtle. If everything is dramatic it means nothing is dramatic. The character can forget basic things, become emotionally detached, or obsessively repeat habits. These things are subtle, but a viewer will notice them and realize something isn’t right.

Well, that would be it for today’s guide. If you have any questions or personal thoughts, make sure to leave a comment. I may write a part 2 sometime, but I definitely will write more guides for all the aspiring creators. Peace!
