Is "Fly safe" a cringy email signoff?

I recently started working for a company that works with pilots and aircraft operators. Most of my work involves talking with pilots, AMEs, and ops. I thought it was thoughtful to put "Fly safe, My Name" as my email signoff.

Question: Is it cringy? Does anyone care? I'm probably overthinking this, but I thought it was thoughtful, and now I'm not sure about it.

JUL 22 HIGHLIGHTS: It's mostly Max Stagg-a-saurus!

Inside: Omar Gonzalez Homer, Max Stagg, Homer, Max Stagg game-winning RBI, and post-game interview with Stagg and Al Coates.

Clearly Fergalicious wasn't working for Stagg! Back to Saving Up and he's so back! It's awesome how much he loves playing here. "There's no other experience in collegiate summer ball like this"

The unofficial West Coast League app is now in the App Store!

Android is coming - but I need about eight more people to help with "closed testing" before Google will let me publish it to the Play Store. If you want to help out here, please DM me!

If someone is being paid to influence a major City decision, you deserve to know - u/jeromyyyc

via u/jeromyyyc

There's a big difference between someone calling me about a pothole and a paid lobbyist trying to influence a decision with hundreds of millions of dollars on the line.

That's why tomorrow, Executive Committee is looking at a proposal I'm bringing forward with Councillors Clark, Schmidt and Atkinson to pursue a lobbyist registry.

Right now, Calgary has no public system that tells you who's lobbying City Hall or what they're lobbying us about.

More and more cities across Canada and North America are making that information public. The federal and provincial governments already have lobbyist registries.

It typically includes information like who you are, who you are trying to influence, and most importantly, who's paying you.

There's a reason these other places have a registry. Big decisions get made. A lot of money is on the line.

Calgary is growing up as a city, and fast. Our budget is now bigger than some provinces and territories. We make decisions involving billions of dollars.

So we're asking our independent Ethics Advisor to look at how other cities handle this and answer questions on a path forward. If someone is being paid to influence a major decision at City Hall, I think you should know about it.

Link to our committee agenda and text of motion are here.

For reference, click here to see Toronto's lobbyist registry.

WCL Stats app - Seeking Beta Testers!

I've been working (voluntarily and independently) on a little app for the West Coast League that includes live notifications, game scores, and team and player stats.

There is no tracking or ads. The only goal is that the players have more exposure to scouts, that we fans have easier access to stats while we're sitting in the stands, and that the players' families and friends can get updates.

Right now, both the iOS and Android apps are tied up in testing and need a few folks to help test them before they can be released to the public app stores.

If you want to help out with beta testing it and optionally providing feedback, please DM me your Google Play Store or Apple App Store email address, and I'll get you hooked up as soon as Google and Apple let me (probably today). All I ask is that you physically shake your phone and report any bugs you find, or anything you want improved.

Reddit is built on anonymity if you want it, so if you send me your email address, you have my word that it's safe with me and won't be used except to administer access to the beta app. Just let me know if you are keen on the iOS or the Android app so I can send you the appropriate invite.

The "Alberta Energy Rebate" website is completely vibe coded with AI

https://preview.redd.it/w9nwq66qxrah1.png?width=1006&format=png&auto=webp&s=a0eec7e70b0d4535a0a1c4ea0ff054b5a9f90632

The em-dashes give it away, the way that these comments read completely give away that it's written by an LLM (AI).

Are we comfortable with our personally identifiable information being worked through an AI?

Are we comfortable with something that should have been written by a human and paid was written by an AI instead?
