I spent a week drawing this 100x70cm Trinity after 10h construction shifts and now I'm too scared to paint the background
AuDHD hyperfocus is wild.
I work construction. 10 hours, physical, loud. I come home dead tired. But for the last week, every evening I sit down with a 0.3 pen and draw this.
It's 100x70cm, 200g paper. The Trinity — Father with the Eye in the triangle, Son on the cross held by two small angels, two big angels below. Every fold took hours. I cleaned the whole linework twice.
My original plan was to fill the background with soft pastel burgundy, but I realized it would dust everywhere and I would ruin it. So I spent 3 days researching alternatives. Ended up with Liquitex Basics Acrylic and masking fluid.
And now... paralysis. The background is ready, the paint is here, figures are masked. But I can't start. I'm terrified I'll ruin a week's work after construction in the last 30 minutes.
Does anyone else get this? You hyperfocus for days, love the process, and then freeze right before the final step because it has to be perfect?
Any tips for not ruining it? I'm thinking flat synthetic 60mm brush, two thin layers.
Thanks for reading. Just needed to share this with people who get it.
