Months after the first one I ordered got lost in the mail, I finally found another 70mm frame from one of my favorite shots 🖤🩵
I was gifted a cheap lamp that does a really good job of diffusing light!
As soon as I turned this lamp on and realized that there wasn't a hotspot to be seen, I started trying to figure out how in the world I would either hang a strip of film along the side or make a shelf for it. I just threw together some Legos and made a really crappy lamp shelf for film strips!
It looks super cursed but I would assume this is probably true to the in-game model?
Trying to remember name of Japanese noodle variant
I'm hoping this would be the right place to ask a question like this, but I'm struggling to remember the name of a product I saw a commercial for while I was in Japan in March 2024. I swear the name was like BKB or something, just being a couple English letters. The commercial had a rap beat in the background, and I'm pretty sure the selling point was that it was particularly spicy. I don't recall what brand it was, but it seemed familiar so it's likely one that sells in the US.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? I know it's dumb but I'm just trying to find the commercial so I can get to the beat. I know somebody that used the exact same instrumental in a comedy rap song and it was hysterical to me to hear it in a commercial for noodles!
Sculpture buried in Lambert runway?
I recall reading years ago that Lambert once had a large abstract glass and metal sculpture in one of the terminals that was removed for a remodel. I don't remember the exact circumstances of why, but the story was that it was ultimately broken into a few sections and buried in the concrete when a runway (or taxiway?) was being rebuilt, presumably to hold concrete layers together or something.
I've tried searching for more information, but am coming up totally blank. And removing any connection to STL doesn't help either, in case I'm misremembering the airport location. Has anyone else ever heard of this? I'm curious if it's true or if it was pure speculation.
While writing, I was able to find that the Art Museum has a scale model of a 48-ft long sculpture by Harry Bertoia that was apparently removed in the 60s. So maybe this is the piece I'm thinking of?
I think I understand the hype for the titanium bracelet
After getting this watch I was really torn on whether there was any point in buying another bracelet for it, especially one that cost not too much less than the watch itself. But the listing made it sound like it was slightly shorter than the steel one so I gave it a try. I've been wearing it most of today now, and it kind of disappears on your wrist. There's effectively no side-to-side slop when the bracelet is loose, and there aren't any rattles to speak of when moving around. It's very marginally shorter than the standard bracelet which I was excited for, but if the watch is already way too big for you it probably won't make a difference. It's also ridiculously light, but if we're already talking about titanium watches I think you know that.
But seriously, this thing feels shockingly good. I've had two Seamasters (which I think have some of the best bracelets in the business) and there's a part of me that feels like if I put this bracelet on an Omega I'd be pretty content.
Just found out Obitalk is dead, so sleep tight lil box. You did good.
WD007 bracelet sizing
Since I had one of the faulty clasps I've been wearing this watch on a rubber strap, but I was able to temporarily piece together the clasp to get the mesh bracelet sized. I quickly noticed that the strap is too long for me, even adjusted to the furthest hole. Am I missing some way to adjust the clasp or something so it fits tighter? This is the first watch I've ever encountered that's too big for my wrist 😵💫
Baby P90
Unfortunately I wasn't able to find a better solution for the back of the sight tower, so I resorted to some sanding on the edges of the bow bricks. Just enough that they can be angled towards the back of the gun to really help sell the overall profile 😃
WD007Q V2... This is the upgraded one?
This watch has been in my possession for around an hour, and after opening and closing the bracelet about three times it completely fell apart. I'm trying to figure out how to get this back together, and I also noticed that the bezel insert is misaligned from the bezel.
All the reviews I've seen for this brand were glowing and everybody was such a big fan, but is this really the quality standard for something that's almost $200? I've had multiple Pagani and Parnis watches that cost half as much and never had a single problem with bracelets.
Small-scale P90
So the observant types might be quick to notice a slightly impossible attachment for the two angled bows making up the back of the sight tower. I can't think of any better way to get this look, so I'd be open to suggestions. But it's technically something you could achieve with glue so I'm not totally disappointed with how it all turned out.
Also the Mecabricks render engine is down so I can't do much in the way of a quality pic..
Been around a year since I sold my 10-yr daily driver and I still miss the New Edge
Finale detail question (OBVIOUSLY SPOILER)
The showing I went to is in the St Louis area, so people got a little excited to be mentioned in the finale. But one person happened to recognize the bar they used footage of, and I didn't catch the name. Apparently it was listed in the credits, so did anyone happen to catch it? I would love to stop in and visit before they inevitably get flooded with people trying to go.
