How to meet a woman in college as a man

So I’m not the most attractive, I have a big nose and I’d say I’m below average face wise. But I’ve built myself a solid frame, I’m sub 15% body fat at 6ft, 175 pounds. Still, no matter how much I work out, when I walk through the streets and see women I find attractive, even in a normal conversation they look at me like I’m just not good enough for anyone. Whenever people talk to my friends, they always ask about them, I’m the one who gets overlooked or slowly pushed out. In 18 years of life, I have yet to talk to a single girl for longer than a 30 second conversation. I really don’t know what to do. People are nice to me at a glance but the more I try to approach or just even try to be friends they start feeling weirded out like I am not someone they would want to even be seen having a conversation with. I am starting college in a few days and would appreciate any help

Need help with my workout split

I am about to start college soon and want some advice about my workout plan and what to change about it and pointers about whatever you guys think tbh. I have been a competitive swimmer since I was a kid, and this will be my first time out of the water since I am not swimming in college. I have been doing this plan for a while since I did not really have a life this summer, and I want some pointers now that I will have access to machines at a gym, since I have only been using my parents garage gym to work out.

I do not do much else, especially since I was unable to get a job this summer. I swam until my final meet a few weeks ago, with two a days 3 days a week and in water practices 3.5 hours a day (in total) on two a day days and 2 hrs 3 days a week with one swim practice for a total of 6., plus outside water work, so I am not new to working out, but I am new to just lifting and I really do not know how to deal with that. I want to eventually get back in the water, but I want to take it slow because I am starting college.

On top of that, I am starting classes soon and honestly do not know what to change in this plan so I do not burn myself out once school starts. Would appreciate any input.

It is a PPL x2 split.

Monday through Saturday mornings is a 3 mile run plus a 1600m row, plus a rotating 15-20 minute calisthenics/flexibility session before and after lifting.

All my lifts have been progressive overload with the same weight through sets, increasing by 2.5-5lbs on most lifts, since I am semi new to lifting and only did it for swimming on a schedule set by my coaches.

Help with physique

I’m a competitive swimmer training 6 days a week two doubles per week (2 hrs in the morning + 1.5 hrs in the afternoon), plus I lift 3 days a week and do circuit/cardio work on my own 2 other days. Basically training every single day. I weigh 155-160lbs and am 6 ft around 19-24%bf

I’ve been tracking calories consistently for about 3 months now and am currently eating at maintenance. My targets are 185g protein, 400g carbs, and 90g fat. I’m usually only hitting around 300g carbs since I try to stick to clean foods only, so I’m consistently falling short of my carb goal. I also find myself struggling to eat throughout the day for some reason.

My main goals are to get more definition in my stomach and build muscle across my entire upper body. I am also trying to strengthen myself for swimming to drop serious times in my events but need to be more explosive stronger endurance and obviously more muscle. I feel like I’m lacking pretty much everywhere up top and my lower body. A lot of my friends are noticeably more muscular and defined, which has been messing with my confidence lately. Taking these pics for example I felt much chubbier when looking at myself in the mirror than the pictures.

Not sure if I should cut, bulk, or recomp given my activity level. I am very new to alot of this and have zero idea how to hit my goals. Any help at all would be much appreciated.

Best mice for FPS gaming?

Hi, I just bought my first PC and I’m looking for a good mouse, preferably under $80. I play a lot of shooter games and have medium to large hands. I tried the G Pro X and it felt great in my hand, but it’s outside my budget. I also tried the G502, but it felt too heavy for me. I’m looking for a mouse with 2-4 buttons not too picky about weight, except if it’s too light it ends up flying around too much. I am not really educated on how to find the best mice but would love any help!

Keyboard recommendations?

Hi all, I’m looking to buy a keyboard ideally under 100$ but Im willing to spend up to $120 for FPS and general gaming, as well as long typing sessions for college work. I’ve been hearing about brands like Keychron, but I’m not sure what would be best in terms of build quality and performance. I am very new to keyboards and have no idea how to find the one best suitable.

Ideally, I’d prefer a mechanical keyboard with responsive switches suitable for gaming and low latency wireless. I’m deciding between a TKL and a 75% layout, but I’m leaning more toward TKL for the extra space and familiarity.

I’d also appreciate recommendations for reliable wireless options in this price range, especially ones that balance gaming performance with good typing feel.

Lenovo legion Pro 7i Ghosting

have a Lenovo Legion Pro 7i (Gen 10) with an OLED display and I’ve been noticing something weird in multiple games (Forza Horizon, FPS games, 007 first light, etc.).

When I move the camera or when I’m inside smoke/particles, I see a kind of ghosted trailing / double image effect, almost like motion blur or a low-quality TV smear.

I already tried a bunch of things:

  • Frame Generation OFF
  • DLSS OFF / ON (no difference)
  • Motion Blur OFF
  • G-SYNC enabled
  • Running native resolution (240Hz OLED panel)
  • GPU/CPU temps are fine (~80°C)

FPS is usually around 70–90 in heavier games.

It doesn’t look like tearing more like a faint image “following” moving objects, especially smoke and fast motion.

Is this just:

  • normal OLED motion blur / sample-and-hold?
  • TAA / game rendering issue?
  • something in NVIDIA settings I’m missing?

Or could it actually be a display issue?

I just bought this laptop and I am scared its already broken.

Any help would be appreciated because it’s pretty noticeable and annoying in motion-heavy games.

Microsoft store and xbox Account Mismatch help

I just bought a gaming laptop for school. Before this, I used my mom’s Microsoft account for Xbox and gaming. Now I have my own Microsoft account on my new laptop, but I want to keep all my old game saves and not start over.

Right now, I’m signed into my old gamertag on the Xbox app, but my new Microsoft account is signed into the Microsoft Store. I want to understand if it’s okay to keep it like this.

I also have a free PC Game Pass offer on my new account. If I redeem it on the Microsoft Store account, will I still be able to use Game Pass and access my games and saves through the Xbox app while staying signed into my old Xbox account?

Or should I make both the Microsoft Store and Xbox app use the same account?

I’ve had my old account for about 10 years, so it has a lot of progress, saves, and games I don’t want to lose.

Laptop recommendations?

Hey everyone, heading to my first semester of college majoring in engineering next year and trying to find a laptop that covers both school and gaming without needing two separate machines.

Budget: ~$2,200 (flexible)

Country: USA

Use Case: Engineering school (CAD/simulation) + Gaming (Forza, Star Citizen, WarThunder) at 1440p medium-high

Required Specs: Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 2 or better, RTX 2000 or better, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD or better, Windows 11 Pro

Questions: (1) RTX 5070 Ti vs 5070 big difference in laptops? (2) Gaming RTX vs workstation GPU for CAD/simulation software? (3) How to find something reliable with good battery life? (4) Should thermals/cooling be prioritized over raw GPU power for all-day heavy use? (5) Should I spring for a 5080 laptop instead?

I am currently looking at the lenovo legion pro 7i as it ticks all my boxes but curious to hear what other recommendations from you guys.

2024 Scott Spark 960?

Hey everyone, found a deal on a 2024 Scott Spark 960 at Jenson USA for $1,200 brand new. MSRP is around $3,400 so it seems like a pretty good deal but wanted to get some real world input before buying. I have owned my hardtail for a few years now and think its time for me to step up into the full suspension world finally. I like it alot the fork is great and it has good stopping power I just really am craving that fs.

For context I’m coming from a 2021 Vitus Sentier hardtail upgraded with a RockShox Lyrik 150mm fork, Magura MT5 brakes with 206mm/180mm rotors, and a 150mm dropper. I ride Horns Hill and Alum Creek in Ohio so nothing too gnarly, mostly flowy singletrack with some downhill and jumps here and there and a solid bit of uphill.

A few questions for anyone who owns one or has ridden one.

How has the TwinLoc system held up long term? Is it something that needs constant attention or causes issues?

Any known problems with the alloy frame specifically? I’ve seen some stuff about the integrated shock design being a pain to service so curious how often it actually needs work and if its something you can do yourself.

On the upgrade side, I know the rear shock is proprietary to Scott’s integrated design so what are the actual options if I want to swap it eventually?

Has anyone put a Pike or similar fork on one instead of the stock Judy? Any compatibility issues there?

Coming from a 150mm fork on a hardtail, is 130mm front and 120mm rear going to feel limiting? Is it possible to increase the travel on the bike or will the geo be completely screwed?

Any help at all about the bike would be great I honestly think it looks pretty cool I just don‘t want to get with something I will regret buying.

Parent won’t let me drive to prom

I’m a senior and prom is tonight. I’m already going alone and don’t really have a group since most of my friends have dates or their own groups, so I already felt awkward enough about going.

The one thing I was actually looking forward to was finally driving myself there because it felt like one of the few moments I’d actually get some independence. At first my parents said yes because they thought prom was at my school, but once they found out it was downtown about 15 minutes away they changed their minds and now insist on driving me.

What frustrates me is that I honestly don’t even care about the dance itself. I just wanted to feel independent for once instead of relying on my parents again. I’m not even allowed to drive more than like 5 minutes by myself, I don’t own my own car, and I have to call my mom every time I go on a drive. My mom also literally doesn’t sleep when I’m out and I have to be home by like 10:30 on prom night anyways.

I know people say “it doesn’t matter how you get there,” but to me it’s more about what driving myself represented. Most of my friends aren’t even that close and I wasn’t really given a chance to join a group because I’m just not that type of guy I guess. I just wanted to have some sense of independence and feel normal for one night.

How do I convince them or what do I do has anyone else dealt with this?
