I’m reading book 8 right before heats 6 and 7 where Carl is going over the plan with everyone and like I said I love the series But with everything currently happening in the series up to this point with the stakes, the characters and number of crawlers in general we lost already it’s finally begun to dawn on me that literally nobody is safe! Anyone can die at any time in any way and it makes me terrified for what’s going to happen in the next two books. I know it’s going to wreck me because I got teary eyed when Dong died! The stripper I never imagined would become anything more than a one off character ended up becoming one of my favorite side characters, how am I gonna survive if something happens to someone I actually love like Elle (which I’m still scared for because of “Linus’s” motivations so idk what the hell is gonna come of that) Imani or Louis?!

These books are tearing me apart emotionally and I never would have expected that from the first book

I feel like since there’s only so many ways the human body can move at some point we have to run out of dance moves if we haven’t already run through everything and are just recycling moves over and over throughout the years

I hate that it took my girlfriend going through my twitter likes and me seeing her cry as a result to finally give me the wake up call I needed to stop watching porn.

Long story short over the weekend my girlfriend was using my phone to check her socials because her phone was dead and normally I don’t mind if she uses my phone because I have nothing to hide but she ended up going to my Twitter and found my likes and I forgot I had a LOT of porn in my Twitter likes. This really crushed her because it’s one of the few concrete boundaries she has in our relationship and I violated it but i never did it to be intentionally malicious or to disregard her boundaries it’s just that the addiction is just too strong and I have very little self control when it comes to that but seeing how hurt she was and knowing how close I was to losing her really put things into perspective for me. I finally decided to open up to her about my porn addiction and how I’ve been struggling with it for years long before she even came into the picture. She was somewhat understanding and I swore to her i would make a better effort to distance myself from porn going forward because in the long run she’s more important to me than random naked women online and I need to constantly remind myself of that whenever I get the urge again.

I’ve tried going cold turkey before but it clearly didn’t stick but maybe with this new motivation to not let my addiction be the reason I lose the love of my life will finally be the final push I need. Heres hoping

so on the amplifying painrial it says that it has the light weapon skill and deals 1d6 vital damage but then on a hit it says spend one charge and add skill modifier to the damage an additional time. my character's light weapon skill is currently at 6 so if i hit with that skill will that mean the damage would be 12 light weaponry since it's added twice on TOP of the 1d6 from the initial attack?

sorry if it seems like an obvious answer but the wording in the handbook can be confusing sometimes.

Semi long story short my group that I’ve played with for the last four years may have finally met its end. Over the last few months there’s been infighting and my friend who normally hosts/ DMs has essentially just called off dnd for the foreseeable future. This comes after I tried to bring the group back together after he “left” the group a few weeks ago by trying to run the campaign I’ve spent the better part of a year homebrewing…we didn’t even make it further than session zero before things fell apart again . I have nobody else to play with and finding in person campaigns is hard in the area I live in.

I know you can use the ABV for other things who chug essentially helps you stretch your supply but are they any other pros or cons to using a vape I should know about?

I legit haven’t been this deeply enthralled with a book series since I started the Cosmere a few years ago. The fact these books are so much deeper than the first book led me to believe , the characters the setting the stakes everything just expands upon itself and I can almost never predict what’s gonna happen. Carl’s “challenge” at the end of the book literally gave me chills, finding out not only is Bea alive but now Odette has “plans” for her (rest in piss Brad), Katia’s departure made me tear up a little because she quickly became one of my favorite characters …I’m starting book 5 literally after I post this because I cannot wait to jump back in to see what happens next. Honestly I’d be shocked if I made it past the second floor but I know for a fact the Iron Tangle would have ended me.

Assuming they even practice it in Roshar…Could a radiant un-circumcise themselves? Stormlight healing basically works by reverting the body to the persons “true self” or how they see themselves so what if someone ideal self is them with their foreskin still attached?

Lowkey a Shoutout to Dinniman for writing a character that’s so Unlikable that even with minimal appearances I end up wishing nothing but awful things happen to her!

Edit: IT HAPPENED! didn’t expect it to happen this soon, I was thinking it’ll be in another book or two but This is what vindication feels like!!

I’m playing a character that is the party artifabrian and over the last few sessions ended up becoming the party medic so upon level up Im thinking of taking the emotional intelligence talent but the wording isn’t really making sense to me.

It says that I would gain an additional skill from erudition so would that mean I now get three skills from erudition as well as a rank in that skill?

This is more for clarification purposes on my end but I was initially under the impression that everyone on Roshar with the exception of the Shin have Epicanthic folds but is it everyone? I know the Alethi for sure have them but what about the Azish? The Iriali are even less native to Roshar than the rest of the humans so do they have them too? Did humans have the folds when they arrived on Roshar or is it something they evolved to have over time?

(Another playthrough story nobody asked for but I have nobody else to talk about these things with. It’s a long one)

On my continuing quest to end slavery and my holy war against the United cities I struck a major blow to their power by finally beating Eyegore! Turns out all I had to do was not have my strongest fighters half way across the map when an UC attack is immediate, who knew? With the big big bug boy in a cage in the corner of my base’s prison where I also stored two nobles I captured during subsequent raids on their turf I decided it was time to take a different approach to this war. I decided to deploy my Shadow operatives whom I call the “Iron Guard(working title)” led by Captain Cyber Beep himself.

The iron guard is a group of six characters that I spent time with training up their stealth and assassination to an adequate level so that the could carry out stealth operations and kidnappings (of nobles) but I needed to do more research so decided that their first official mission after training would be going to the tower of abuse to get materials and of course the Boi Agnu. I prepped them with enough food, medical supplies and the best gear I had then they were off naruto running into the night. What follows is a series of events that could have been avoided if I wasn’t dumb and RNjesus was on my side.

The initial journey to the tower went surprisingly well, they were fast enough to outrun most threats and the few that they couldn’t outrun the took care of with minimal difficulty and injury. The initial assault on the tower went well, cutting through the thralls and working their way up the tower I started feeling cocky until they entered the tower and were immediately swarmed by Ponk, Screamer the False and nem. Things were going well at first but keep in mind I trained these guys for stealth and dexterity, they have respectable toughness but they aren’t built to sustain too much damage so drawn out fights do not favor them at all. I noticed everyone was being dropped until only Beep and Dust Bandit (I didn’t wanna change his name and I think it tells a story) were left standing.

I had Beep and DB make a tactical retreat and sneak when far enough away to drop Aggro so they can sneak back in and pick up the ones who were down because things were looking bad. On the way back to the tower one of the downed ones stood up, got promptly jumped, lost a leg and was bleeding out i managed to stop the bleeding and patch him up but he was still dying. Slowly. But dying so I made the stupid decision to have one of the other downed guys pick him up and sneak/run him back to base before he dies, during that time o was having Beep go around and knocking out every remaining thrall and looting. Then tragedy struck.

Portraits blinked red, I switched my POV to the duo I sent away just to see the pathing had them stuck on a rock being attacked by two beak things. Already weak from getting their asses handed to the just hours prior they both went down immediately and one of them was promptly eaten alive. First he lost a leg then he got eaten by a beak thing. Rip Hotlongs. The other one managed to survive and snuck away at a crawl because he too lost a leg to a beak thing and he made it a good distance before another beak thing spotted him and finished him off.

So now there Beep was, two team mates eaten by beak things, one in a coma, one with a broken arm, a robot with only one skill above a 1, an inventory filled with loot and a bunch of pissed off skeletons and a partridge in a pear tree. There was no way they were going to make it all the way back to base in their current condition so I had to deploy two of my strongest fighters: my character Ulysses and his bestie for the restie Ruka to go rescue them. these two are really my two strongest characters but the other 4 members of the “Horns” are basically the elite fighters of my little militia. The six of them alone are strong enough to take most cities with minimal difficulty.

Needless to say the rescue was a success all things considered, I lost two but gained Agnu and walked away with 3 ai cores, like 10 ancient science books and two masterwork limbs. Beep’s first official mission could have gone better it could have gone a lot worse. Now I can continue my expansion with more research and continue my war on the UC.
