I noticed a lot of people waiting for NUST lists don’t know this and there are many posts in which kids are still CONFUSED.

If you get a LOWER preference (e.g. 3rd preference) but are waiting for your 1st preference, you STILL HAVE TO PAY FEE for the preference you were offered. THEY WILL UPGRADE YOU ONCE YOUR NAME COMES IN HIGHER PREFERENCE.

If you don’t pay (FOR THE LOWER PREFERENCE) by the deadline, you can be REMOVED from the selection process, meaning you WONT BE CONSIDERED for upgradation to your higher preferences in later lists.

For example:

1st: Biotech

2nd: Environmental Science

3rd: Agriculture

If you get Agriculture first THEN PAY for it. If your merit position later gets you Biotech, you’ll be UPGRADED.

Also, if your preferences are across different schools (e.g. Computing AND Engineering), and you’ve already paid for one but later get the other, EMAIL NUST about transferring/adjusting your fee.

PleasE DONT SKIP PAYMENT JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE WAITING FOR HIGHER PREFERENCE.

if you don't get in higher preference, then you can continue with your lower preference program or refund fee.

I wanna buy some nice abayas for university. I don't like wearing plain black or beige abayas...I like pastel colours and cute sleeves designs. Pls if someone knows any online brands with good affordable abaya.

I'm facing issues regarding university transport and I use indrive but there's always a family member with me. It's hard for there to be a family member every time however. Is it safe to use indrive as a girl? Alone?

Ps I have my profile set to a guy's name and also I choose riders with platinum status or 3000+ rides.

My mom's scared I'll get kidnapped 👀👀I share the ride with like ten people but ....

So for two times this past month, the indrive driver showed up with a different number plate. The first time only the number plate was different and the second time the whole a** car was different 👀. Obviously I have survival instincts so I didn't get in both times. But this is getting worse cuz it happened with my mom last week as well. WHERE SHOULD I REPORT IT ??

I only choose drivers with above 3000 rides and yet this happened.

Idk I used to randomly listen to his lectures on life and hard situations. But I've never listened to his Quran tafseer videos. I wanted to learn Quran tafseer in depth. And I was recommended by many people about him. But once I searched on YouTube I came across a few videos of some scholars warning against him that he rejects the HADITH about evil eye and says music is halal. I don't know what to feel about this because some people in my friend group have done his tasfeer course. And these are the people whose judgement I've trusted throughout my life and we usually share scholars videos and suggest each other books on faith etc.

Can someone pls guide me on this. Is He really not a reliable person for learning tafseer?

Planning to do MS in biomedical research. Is Qatar in general a good place for female students?

Ok so I have no interest in medicine, let's start with that. But I can get into other universities for biotech via mdcat.

I did get a high enough score to get into nust biotech. But I'm having second thoughts cause I heard from the people that the department isn't good at nust. What should I do? Should I change my preference?

I've always been interested in research based field and I want to pursue a career genetic engineering/gene therapy/ drug development/medical biotech. Like this is the type of stuff I'm interested in and I thought that bs in biotech and then a specialized msc in the field I want.

What should I do? I don't care about workload or anything. I can work hard and I do plan on doing sufficient projects in bs for my CV and to build experience.

Like in my mind I feel positive about biotech. But if someone can sincerely suggest me if nust is the best option for biotech in Islamabad? I do plan on applying to comsats biotech. Should I go for that or nust? Or give mdcat and try to do something else ....

In terms of academics, general attitude of professors and lab facilities. Are internship opportunities/volunteering in lab and counselling for career options available? Do seniors invite juniors to collaborate on research projects?

Does nust give any merit based financial assistance based on gpa at the end of month/semester? Like if I get 3.5bgpa above , will I be eligible for any scholarship or smth? Talking about ASAB

Is medical Biotech followed by bioinformatics (potentially) worth it?

(I'm passionate about medical biotech)

Hi everyone! So I'm just done with my alevels. And I spent the entirety of my alevels thinking and choosing about what I want to do. Throughout my life I was inclined to do medicine (honestly thinking back I never actually thought for myself but my family expected me to do medicine so I grew up with that mindset and at some point I actually wanted to do it) .

Now in my second year of alevels everything changed. I dealt with severe burn out, creative slumber and anxiety. And with my mind up in chaos I sat down and revaluated. The anxiety and the stress was due to the uncertainty of what I wanted to do.

I thought about it a lot and decided that no, I do not want to do medicine. And then I actually thought about what peaked my interest and what made me happy. I'm a math loving girl, I love reading and writing research on any topic - related to medicine/politics/law. I also love biology and when I studied genetic engineering in alevel biology, i went and explored about the field of genetics research/gene therapy/bioinformatics/molecular biology. I looked into pharmaceuticals and vaccine development as well. Now these are mostly vague terms I'm using but I hope you get the idea of what I'm going for. 😭 Basically i want to go into medical biotech.

I consulted a family relative about this and told her that I want to do one these things mentioned above and she recommended me first to do biotechnology or biomedical engineering. She suggested I do biotech first because I can get an idea of all these things from biotech since it's a diverse field. After bachelors in biotech I can then specialize in any field that I mentioned above. So far bioinformatics is the top runner for me in terms of what I want to specialize in.

The timeline in my head is basically

BS biotech-->Ms bioinformatics or smth else -->maybe PhD since I'm willing to go forward in this field.

Ps I'm very hard working and I love studying and learning. I'm genuinely passionate about these 'research based fields'. I'm looking for someone to guide me and give me advice regarding this.

Should I go for it? What other fields can I pursue? What are the best countries for such fields? Can I expect good job opportunities after 6 years of BS and MS? (I will work on my profile during my education and try to get as much exposure in my uni years)

I have math,physics,bio and chem in alevel.

Salaam everyone! I'm 19 F and I have neglected my body over the past few years. After covid vaccine, my periods stopped for almost 4 -5 months and I gained a lot of weight around my hips. That coupled with puberty really did make me feel ugly. I'm in a better weight and mental state now. My periods became regular 3 years ago

I'm almost 5'7 and my weight fluctuates between 64-68kg. 68 is when I sit down a lot during exams. But it's mostly 64. Also I gain and loose weight quickly.

1. I'm doing yoga and exercise these days to loose hip fat. Problem with my hips is that I have a lot of stretch marks in the back of my thighs (butt👀) and around these stretch marks the colour is a bit darker than my skin tone. I feel it's dirt and I wash my myself throughly but that 'dirt' doesn't go. Is it hyperpigmentation? The stretch + the darker regions ...I don't feel good Abt them.

2. My armpits. I shave them using mostly epilator/ sometimes wax/ sometimes pine gum. But how to reduce dark armpits? And what's the best method to reduce hair growth?

2.5. how to reduce hyperpigmentation down there...

3. Elbows. I have very dry and cracky elbows, I use lotion on them but they are still very dry

4. Feet. I try to keep my feet very clean but I have a few warts on one of my feet. I had one wart a couple years ago and had to get it treated by freezing. Was a long and expensive process. Now a couple years later one of my feet has warts again. I use wart medicine on them and when I'm consistent, they disappear. But they reappear when I stop. Good thing is that they don't spread. It's been these same 4 warts for almost 1.5 years. My mom says it's because of deficiency. I have to get them treated again but I lagged these years due to living too far away from the hospital and it took almost 10 visits for my first wart treatment.

5. Hair. I do regular oiling. Mixture of rosemary oil + Moroccan oil+ argan oil. Honestly working pretty well and my hair is soft and smooth. But it still gets damn frizzy and I have white hairs as well. Again my mom

Says deficiency.

6. I take a supplement pill with iron+ folic acid+ vitamins. I don't drink coffee. I have a healthy diet. I do drink a 1.5cup of chai daily.

7. Teeth - I have braces and they look ugly now but I'm manifesting a good smile after they get off. 😁

8. I use sunblock religiously. Face skin is prefectly fine.

I need advice from women on how to maintain my body while approaching my 20s. And also how to not feel insecure.

There is also something embarrassing I struggle with. Ever since I turned 18 Im having sexual thoughts beyond control. I do zikr, I've cried in prayer, I pray so much to end it/ control it but it seems impossible and I feel dirty and sinful for thinking like this. Whenever I see a movie in which a character kisses or literally hugs even, my mind instantly shifts to the uncontrollable sexual thoughts mode. I SKIP THOSE DAMN SCENES BUT MY MIND IS LIKE YOU STIMULATED ME 😭😭

Hi guys! So I've been swimming on and off my whole life and I really haven't encountered any facial acne due to swimming. However recently I've started swimming more regularly and I've noticed I breakout a day later. Even tho I shower straight away and do face wash and put on moisturizer, I still break out. I know it's due to swimming bcz I didn't swim for two weeks last month and my skin was fine. The moment I started swimming the next week my skin broke out.

Any tips or any cream you recommend I shud apply before swimming
